So, Noelle is working at the café for Carlotta. Thats great for her. I wonder if Moe will be as happy working as Dorians personal chef. Moe already got a taste of what its like to be employed at La Boulaie when he prepared a lovely breakfast for Jack, which Jack proceeded to throw at the fireplace. Poor Jack; he has always kind of been in the way and pushed aside in the wake of everyone elses drama in his family and I guess the little guy is sick and tired of it all. Hes been lied to and kept in the dark and it is obvious that acting out is the only way to get some attention.
Uh-oh! If Blair is not careful, shes going to be raising a little Todd and that is scarier than anything else I can think of. Sadly, I think Blair has to take a lot of responsibility for Jacks situation because she kept Todd in her kids lives for so long, taking him back time after time when it was unhealthy for all of them. With Todd as their father, Blair needed to take a more active role in protecting her kids and her escapades in life didnt allow her to do that. I was glad she finally decided to bring Jack to see Todd at the jail. It was an extreme move, but it wasnt a bad idea to get everything out in the open and have Todd face some of the collateral damage of his actions, namely his son. It took Addie saying that Jack was feeling lost in the middle of everything and that everything was taking a toll on Jack, too, for Blair to take the bull by the horns, but Im glad she did.
So Jack confronted his father and Todd had to admit what he had done to Marty, in terms that Jack might be able to understand, although it seems impossible for a child to be able to digest Todds lunacy. Even though Todd did admit to a lot that he had done, he couldnt refrain from throwing in the comment that Blair wouldnt let him see his kids and it drove him crazy. He had to admit that he was a bad husband and a bad father but it was way too little, way too late. You could tell how badly Jacks heart was broken when he asked Todd if he loved Marty more than him and if he was going to run away with her and never come back. Todds answers were in no way sufficient and it is obvious that if Jack doesnt get some badly needed attention and help, he might not be as lucky as Starr to grown up and somehow be a good person.
Blair and Johns relationship keeps getting more interesting by the day. Blair was totally ready to walk away from a romantic relationship with John, telling him that they were friends who comforted each other and they can part as friends, when John piped up and said if she wants to walk away she can, but thats not what he wants. That took me by surprise as well as the fact that John actually talked a bit about his feelings to Blair. Who knew? John admitted that he does care about Marty and that she has a lot to go through to get her life back on track, but the Marty he knows is gone. I think I was more shocked than Blair when John said, I want you. Its not like John to make that kind of decision lightly. Of course John never commits to anything for life, but I liked his honesty with Blair. I also like that he was honest with Cole about his relationship with Blair and that he reassured Cole that he would always be there for his mother and for him. It is going to be very interesting to see how things evolve when Marty gets her memory back and remembers her feelings for John.
It was really creepy when Marty decided to show up at Todds arraignment and ran right into Todd amidst all the reporters as they were bringing him into the courtroom. It was uncomfortable to watch as Marty walked right up to Todd and stared him right in the face. Boy, she means business and it was very evident when Nora showed her the list of charges against Todd and Marty agreed to let Nora add rape to the list. When Todd heard that, he just looked over at Marty because he probably doesnt believe that he raped her this time. Todd arrogantly decided to defend himself in court and was possibly ready to plead guilty (Ill bet not), when Tea marched in and shut him up. Obviously, shes going to fight the fact that Todd raped Marty this time. Give me a break!
Natalie finally convinced Viki that she needed to get back with Charlie, even though Viki claims to have too much baggage to get involved. Viki shows up at the diner and sits down to talk with Charlie and she admits that she has run out of reasons to stay away from him and that she has always loved him, but just needed to trust him again. Charlie was pretty speechless because he didnt really think Viki would come back to him at this point, but he sure was thrilled to have her back. It was nice to see them spend a romantic night together.
Jessica and Brody are becoming fast friends at St. Anns. Brody says he can relate in some ways to Jessica because of what he went through with Shane. For him it was like losing his own child. I cant imagine where this relationship is going. Jessica has so much to deal with and so does Brody. She has three people living in her body and Brody sees a little boy who isnt there. What a pair! Jessica had a very hard time on the day of Hopes funeral, saying she felt like it was her own baby that died. If she only knew how true that was! She feels guilty that Starr lost her baby and she still has hers.
It is nice to see Rex, Gigi and Shane getting along as a new family. It was pretty funny when Roxy came by and saw their family Christmas card. Leave it to Roxy to hit the nail on the head saying, This looks like a real Norman Rockefeller card. And what a hoot it was hearing Shane call Roxy Grandma. I was waiting for her to have a meltdown over that, but even though Rex reminded her that she didnt want to ever be called Grandma, she said that Shane could call her anything he wants to call her.
Did you think that Christina Comes Home for Christmas movie was just a bit over the top? Somehow I couldnt see all those people stopping dead in their tracks to tune in to see Christina. Was it too expensive for the show to use clips from Its a Wonderful Life?
See ya next week.
