And as if we haven’t had to deal with enough nonsense, Blair gets Ross on the plane to drag him back to Llanview so she can ruin Tea’s life. I don’t care much about Tea, but I’m sick of Blair and her selfish schemes. Tea thinks those divorce papers Ross sent her were real, but she is still married to Ross and Blair can’t wait for Todd to find out that little fact.
Blair puts Ross up in the cabana at La Boulaie, which makes him angry because he wants to life in the big house (LOL), but she convinces him to stay there. I don’t know why he’s complaining because that cabana sure beats the hut he was living in and it’s probably nice than most peoples’ homes. He sneaks into the big house to steal some food and almost gets caught by Tea, but gets away just in time.
And wasn’t Blair happy to see Tea in her house wearing a bathrobe after obviously having slept over with Todd? Blair knows something is up and Todd finally tells her what happened to Starr and Hope. Blair quickly forgets about hating Tea and about Ross and she and Todd head for the police station. And believe it or not, Todd’s first concern is to call Bo so he can have John fired for letting Starr and Hope get kidnapped. Thank goodness Blair got him to shut up but it didn’t take him long to try to interfere with the police by stating that he just wanted to pay the ransom demand. For Todd, there is nothing that can’t be fixed with his money. Todd owes John for saving him so many times and he’s so jealous of John that he can’t see straight so he tries to do what he can to make John look bad. (As if that could happen.)
The cops finally surround the warehouse where Starr and Hope are being held and Brody goes in by boat from the river and actually gets them out and onto the boat after taking out a few of Sergei’s guys. John and Bo go in to try and get the rest of them but that doesn’t go exactly according to plan when Sergei sneaks up on John with a gun. Oops!
Then, of course, we have to deal with Stacy, who has a doctor’s appointment and tries to get out of going with Rex because hey, she doesn’t think she’s pregnant. Well, we know better even before the show because it’s just what the writers would write, another predictable storyline where the bad girl gets her way.
Anyway, Rex and Gigi head over to pick up Stacy for the appointment but Stacy is in a panic because she doesn’t want Rex to find out she’s not pregnant. Her little friend Kimmy makes her take a home pregnancy test which doesn’t show she’s pregnant and when Stacy is forced to agree to go to the appointment, Kimmy convinces her to play dumb and let the doctor tell her and Rex that she has suffered a miscarriage. What a mess! So Stacy doesn’t want Gigi to go to the doctor with her and Rex and they argue for a while, but Gigi finally decides to stay behind because she spots something in Rex’s loft that she wants to investigate. They all leave to go to the doctor and Gigi uses her old key to get in and heads straight for the trash can where she finds the home pregnancy test. She can’t figure out why there would be such a thing in the trash when Stacy is already pregnant and later, she discussed it with Schuyler, who remembers Stacy trying to have sex with him. Will they figure out what Stacy is up to? She is more than thrilled when the doctor tells her she’s actually a few days pregnant. I can’t wait to see what this means for Fish.
On a happy note, I was thrilled to hear that Erika Slezak has signed a new contract and will be around for some time. They would be fools to let her go!
In conclusion (and speaking of real conclusions) I want to take a minute to step away from OLTL and bid a very fond farewell to Guiding Light which will end it’s incredible 72-year run on Friday, September 18th. I watched this show for many years, although not recently, and I have many happy memories of those days, not the least of which was being introduced to the very fine Mark Derwin when he created the role of Mallet (and later of course the beloved Ben Davidson on OLTL). I wish all of the fine actors on Guiding Light much success in the future and hope to see them on other shows very soon. It is sad to see them go after all these years and they will be greatly missed.
See ya next week.
