FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Jamie writes: “How do the Todd fans ignore the fact that Todd is keeping Marty away from HER SON? Isn’t Todd all about family and kids? How many times has he complained to Marty about being kept away from the children he says he loves more than life itself? And yet, here is Todd doing to Marty what he says he being done to him. I do not care that Marty does not remember Cole. Who knows what would happen if she saw him? Her memory might come flooding back. Oh, but wait, that would ruin Todd’s master plan, wouldn’t it?”

Dear Jamie: I have asked the same question about Todd’s supposed devotion to his kids many times. But the answer is always the same; anything that Todd does to get what he wants is totally acceptable to him. It doesn’t matter that he’s keeping Marty from her son and others who love her, because it serves his purpose to keep her as his prisoner and have someone to distort the truth to who can’t call him on his lies. I can’t wait for the day that this fiasco comes crashing down on Todd’s head.

John writes: “I'm not quite as tired of the 1968 storyline as you are, but I do agree with you about the actress who plays Delphina/Professor Fina. She is hilarious. I also laughed out loud at the "Come back, Shane!" bit.”

Dear John: Yes, she is hysterical to watch. Her transformation, not only from Delphina to Professor Fina, but also from woman to man, is a riot to watch. I especially love when she channels Mel. It’s the only time we get to see Dorian’s tiny, tiny, vulnerable side. It’s too bad that more people in Llanview don’t listen to what Delphina has to say.

Cathryn writes: “I like Gigi with Brody and not Rex (although Rex is a fave of mine but he is not right20for her). I don't feel the chemistry between them even though they are dating in real life. Brody has done right by Shane and Gigi. I think he is a decent guy for the most part and Gigi should not give him up so fast. And what about the fact that Rex is still married to Adriana? How does that fit in? As always, Blair makes a fool of herself with Todd and I can't stand the idea of the two of them hot and cold, on and off. For Pete's sake end it once and for all. When real life couples do this, it nauseates me! I don't think Blair and Todd should be together nor should they be with other people. They should just keep irritating each other. And after the trashy way Todd talks about Blair, why would she want him? The remark he made to John about asking if Blair got checked out "down there" because "you never know where she's been" was just plain raw in addition to calling her a slut. And John is the poster boy for I CAN'T COMMIT TO ANYONE AND NEVER WILL. I am not keen on having Marty or Tina back in Llanview but I can tolerate Marty a lot better than I can Tina. I will probably be slammed for this but I can't stand Tina and never could!

Dear Cathryn: I do not agree about Gigi and Brody. Brody is being very sneaky and justifying his actions because of his supposed love for Gigi. The bottom line is that Gigi has always loved Rex and has never loved Brody. She has made that clear to him. I really like Rex and Gigi together and I think they have good chemistry. As far as Adriana goes, we are going to see her again soon, but I hope it’s not for too long. She’s going to have to face the fact that all her manipulating didn’t get Rex to stay with her. I’ve always said that Blair and Todd deserve each other because no matter whom they wind up with, they always gravitate back to each other in a very sick way. I’d love to see Blair wise up and finally, truly move on from Todd, but somehow they are in each other’s blood. ICK! For now they will be apart though. Yes, you’re right, in the dictionary under commitment, there should be a picture of John with a line through his face but I can’t help it, there’s just something about him I can’t dislike. I just love that guy. And hey, you are not alone, I can’t stand Tina either!

Marcie writes: “I want to comment on the acting skills of Beth Ann Bonner (Talia). I watched "I Wanna Be a Soap Star" when she was a contestant and they certainly edited those episodes to make her look like a weird person. I was dismayed when the guy (can't even remember his name) won the show while she was sent packing. He lasted on OLTL for about 10 minutes, and then was killed off. Then on comes Beth Ann and she is doing a wonderful job. I don't see anyone commenting about this situation on any of the OLTL columns.”

Dear Marcie: It’s true that there isn’t much written about Beth Ann Bonner and how she’s doing on OLTL. I don’t know why. I certainly do remember the young actor who won a role on the show but I think he was doomed from the start because he was brought on as one of Vincent’s thugs and we never got to hear more than a couple of words out of him when Vincent threw an order at him. No one would be able to tell what kind of actor he was from the role they gave him. Beth Ann, on the other hand, was given a much juicier role and yes, she has done very well with it.
