Don’t you just love a beautiful, romantic, soap opera wedding? Of course I’m referring to the most joyous union of Spencer and Blair. I have to say that if Spencer gave me half the laughs over the last couple of years that he’s given me in the last couple of months, I would have been able to tolerate him a lot better. The only reason I was sorry to see him go off the deep end was that he wasn’t really of sound mind when he got to look his killer in the eye before he met his well-deserved end. That would have been a perfect end to his life for me.
I was a bit insulted that we were supposed to believe that Spencer’s attorney just waltzed into his hospital room with a duffel bag that the boy-genius cop at the door didn’t even examine. And are we to believe that the attorney was as insane or immoral as Spencer when he packed that bag with drugs, syringes and an entire wedding ensemble without asking any questions? Of course it wasn’t funny for the attorney in the end, was it? And wasn’t it convenient that Spencer, a man who is bigger and taller than every man in Llanview, was able to so perfectly fit into his attorney’s clothes? The hat was just the icing on the cake for me.
And it wasn’t so much fun for Blair, was it? It was sad that after all she’s been through she had to go through a final humiliation by Spencer drugging her, undressing her and climbing on top of her to consummate their “marriage.” That was icky to watch.
So, since I am the worst when it comes to solving a whodunit, who do you think had the distinct pleasure of killing Spencer? And believe me, I do love talking about Spencer in the past tense. So, is there anyone in Llanview who does not make the list of suspects? We have Todd, John, Natalie, Rex, Paige, Michael, Asa and Marty. Hey, let’s not forget the absent Kevin. I guess we can exclude Starr and Cole, although they would have made good suspects if they hadn’t been in Spencer’s room with his lawyer’s dead body when Spencer was being killed. Lots of people think it was Paige, since Alexandra Neil is leaving the show. Maybe that’s too obvious. Whoever killed Spencer probably didn’t head to Blair’s room knowing they’d find Spencer, or did they? It wasn’t someone with a gun, like John, because the person killed Spencer with scissors they grabbed from a cart. But maybe finding the scissors, the killer didn’t have to use a gun. You see, I have no clue and I could ramble for days. I think the people involved with little Tommy are the most likely suspects since they have the most to lose; like Michael who can imagine his and his wife’s hearts being broken and Rex, who could be in a world of hurt for the secret he’s been keeping. But I don’t see it being either Michael or Rex.
As if the Spencer whodunit wasn’t enough, now we have to figure out who the arsonist is. Most of us don’t believe it’s Cristian. Hey, maybe the arsonist and Spencer’s killer are the same person. Now I really can’t imagine who that would be. The evidence against Cristian is sure piling up and I heard there are going to be more fires, so I’m sure whoever is setting Cristian up will dig him an even deeper hole as time goes by.
Okay, let’s move on because I’ll wait to hear what you all think about who the killer is and who the arsonist is.
On to Jessica and Nash. I am so glad they finally got to clear the air and get their feelings out. Jessica needed to admit that her feelings for Nash are just that, HER feelings and not Tess’s. I guess she figured she’d better give up the lie when Nash admitted that when he kissed her he wasn’t kissing Tess, or wanting Tess and that it was Jessica that he was kissing and wanted. Nash knows that she loves Antonio, but it was good that he didn’t let her deny her feelings for him any more. At this point, neither of them wants to hurt Antonio, but it seems inevitable that it’s going to happen.
Viki was in true “mom mode” last week, wasn’t she? I guess she was doing what she does best, but even for Viki I think it was family problem overload. First there was Todd, coming to her and asking her advice on how to get Blair to agree to marry him. I thought it was pretty funny that she didn’t really want to tell him too much and he practically begged her to give him advice. That’s how lost Todd is right now. I guess he’s getting a dose of reality because he never really believes that he can’t have what he wants when he wants it and right now, that’s exactly what he’s facing with Blair. I liked the way Viki told him that he had to let Blair know that he wouldn’t hurt her again and make damn sure he didn’t. Great advice, but can Todd do that?
