REFLECTIONS BY JILL….

WARNING:  Anyone who is sick and tired of my complaining about Kevin better tune out! I’m thinking that it’s about time for him to take a gigantic fall because I can’t think of another dirty, rotten thing he can come up with to hurt the people around him. I think I finally came to the conclusion that I couldn’t detest him any more than I already do when I started actually feeling sorry for Kelly at the end of last week…and you know how little sympathy I have for Kelly. Just when I think Kevin can’t sink any lower, he goes and proves me wrong. He sent a chill right up my spine when he brought his face an inch from Kelly’s and told her she was an unfit mother, that he was going to take Ace away from her and that she’d be lucky if she didn’t go to jail. I thought Kelly would just about fall over and die when she realized that he knew everything about the baby.

And there’s Kevin…so upset that Kelly had lost the baby and not told him. I nearly choked on my soda when he told her that he would have been there for her. Yeah right, Kevin…would that be during the five seconds every day that you weren’t chasing Blair and flaunting it in your wife’s face? After all that’s happened, I am amazed that Kevin is so blind and self-centered that he doesn’t see where any of the blame lies with him.

Did you laugh like I did when Kevin confronted Paul? I figured that Paul would at least lie a little bit and he didn’t disappoint me when he said that he got the baby from a homeless girl who couldn’t take care of him. I’ll bet Babe over in Pine Valley would really appreciate that explanation of what happened to her son. But I laughed because there was slimy, blackmailing Paul, scared out of his wits that Kevin was going to choke the life out of him. I though he was supposed to be some hotshot ex-Marine. I guess he’s only good at being the big bully with women who have money he can scam away from them.

I can’t do real justice to my feelings with words when I say that I was more than overjoyed when Todd finally told Kevin the truth about Ace not being his, not being Kevin’s and not even being Kelly’s baby. My goodness…to finally see Kevin totally confused, blown away and speechless was a joy to behold. I was a bit uncomfortable with the way Todd delivered some of the news…telling Kevin more than one time “Your baby is dead” with a smile on his face. That was kind of horrible coming from a man with children, but I guess there was no stopping Todd at that point. Once Starr was hurt by the situation I guess all bets were off as far as Todd was concerned.

And wasn’t Kevin a joy when he called Starr and Trevor liars as they tried to apologize for hacking into The Banner Sun? Oh yes, Kevin is surely a man to be raising a child.

All of the above pales in comparison to what Kevin did to Viki. It was bad enough that he duped Joey and Natalie into giving him their shares of the paper to vote (and don’t even get me started on Natalie obstinately thinking she did a good thing siding with Kevin), but when he called that sneaky evening meeting so that Viki wouldn’t be able to attend and challenge him…that’s when I felt he crossed a line he won’t easily be able to come back over. And he just stood there and stuck to his story that he did what he did for the sake of The Banner Sun. I think Viki was easy on him when she merely banished him from her life until he became the real Kevin again…I hope she doesn’t hold her breath…not good for her new heart. I think she should have given Kevin a good slap across the face and made him realize how much he’d really hurt her. Heck, I remember very well a time when she smashed Ben across the face for an awful lot less. (Come on folks, did you think I’d forgotten about Ben already?)

One more thing about Kevin and then we’ll move on…I know you’re glad! I was just wondering if in all of his scheming and dirty tricks, has Kevin even given any thought to the fact that courts don’t normally take a baby away from it’s mother and give it to a supposed father who was arrested for drunk driving a week ago? Unless Asa bribes the judge (which is more than possible, even though he doesn’t want Ace back in his house), I think Kevin’s recent arrest and instability should definitely be addressed.

OK…moving on.

Always priding myself on admitting when I’m wrong, I think I was wrong about Tico. Something tells me I rushed to judgment when I first saw the poor thing shackled in that vault. Silly me! He’s definitely becoming creepier by the day with that broken, deliberate way he speaks and those piercing stares he gives everyone. I had a really sick feeling the other day…wouldn’t it be wild if he were actually the long lost son of Mitch Laurence. Heck, when you consider how Todd’s appearance has changed, Tico could even be Mitch. Ooohhh….perish the thought! He sure wanted that house bad enough. Blair knew when she was beaten out of the bidding and Tico didn’t even have to raise an eyebrow.

Does Tico think he’s going to get far kissing Viki’s butt? Her facial expressions were a riot when he visited Llanfair and was laying on the lothario routine for Viki and Jessica. I just hope Jessica keeps her eyes open. She hasn’t had a very good streak of seeing a train heading her way even when it was two feet away.

And why doesn’t Sonia just get a set of handcuffs and attach herself to Antonio? She’s so obvious that it wouldn’t make much difference anyway. She came on like such a strong woman and you’d think that she’d find a more discreet way of working Antonio. I guess she finds him so irresistible that hanging all over him is her only alternative. No comment…but, to each his own.

Did you die laughing when Dorian, David and Kelly were having drinks with Tico and Kelly was drunk out of her mind? Dorian’s eternal goal of keeping up appearances was surely tested. When she was embarrassed and told Tico, “Cramers are reserved and old-fashioned” was she referring to some Cramers that we’ve never met? Between Dorian, Kelly and Blair, those “reserved” Cramer women have created enough front-page scandal to last a lifetime.

You have to hand it to RJ…the guy has chutzpah…and for anyone who doesn’t know what chutzpah is…it’s guts…nerve…a couple of little body parts somewhere below the man’s waist…lol. It was just like him to waltz into the police station after having John beaten up and daring John to accuse him of the crime. I thought John was very cool when he told RJ that he has a long memory and that he owes him one. I’m sure before this whole John/Evangeline thing is over (if it is going to be over), John will owe RJ a lot more than one.

Speaking of John and Evangeline…I’m wondering just how far these two are going to go. Although I have always wanted John and Natalie together, I have to say at this point that Natalie is behaving like a bratty, obnoxious little girl and John doesn’t seem to know what the heck he wants, except that he can’t seem to keep his hands off Evangeline when they get near each other. I really like Evangeline, but honestly, she hasn’t given me any sense yet about what she’s like when she puts away her briefcase. Oh sure, she has a physical weakness for John…I sure don’t blame her for that…but I’d like to see her character really loosen up more often…like she does when she’s with Nora. And if they don’t start turning Natalie around soon, I think her chances with John are over. It’s obvious that she’s jealous of John and Evangeline and it even seems that she’s not that thrilled at the thought of a life with Paul. She’s having trouble convincing herself that she’s happy at this point…but she sure is trying hard to fool herself.

On a lighter note…I loved the DVD that Matthew had Jen put together for Bo so that Bo could see some of the sweet moments that his missed from his childhood. Too bad it didn’t last longer…it was a really nice moment. As usual, the nice moments don’t last very long, do they?

And speaking of Bo and Nora…I think it’s hysterical that they haven’t realized yet that they can’t stop snapping and griping at each other because they still have a strong attachment to each other. And what’s with Nora going away with Daniel at this point? They’ve hardly shared a meal without Bo, Matthew or work interrupting them and all of a sudden they’re going away to the shore? I thought it was very cute and very telling when Nora was talking to Bo about Daniel and she said, “It’s weird, he can’t dance, doesn’t know anything about rock & roll, eats gourmet food (no burgers and fries), but he’s a decent guy. Yeah Nora…he’s right up your alley…NOT! She and Bo need each other. They can sing rock & roll, dance their hearts out and clog their arteries together with burgers, fries and Chinese food. It’s a match made in heaven. All kidding aside, they are just right for each other and that’s that, in my opinion. Maybe Matthew can hide himself inside a beach ball and destroy the weekend for Nora and Daniel. He’s very good at that stuff.

And what would a week be without David to brighten it up for all of us? Can anyone else deliver a line like he can? I nearly fell off the chair when he asked Dorian if Augustico had a sister named Septemberico? And how perfect was it when Kevin and the cops came to the door to take Ace and David stalled by yelling out, “We’re naked!” Whoever writes his lines is wonderful and there isn’t anyone I can think of who could carry off the role of David like Tuc Watkins does. He’s such a great addition to the already zany Cramer family.

See ya next week...

FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Joan writes:  “Don't fret about Margaret not being on the show anymore! Nobody
stays locked up at St Ann's mental institution without finding a way out! The
nuns are often unaware of the guests vs. the patients! It is more of a spa than a hospital. People don’t need passes to get in and patients come and go at will!”

Dear Joan:  You’re so right about St. Ann’s. Actually, they might be booked solid for a while since there’s a good chance that Kelly will be landing herself there before we know it.  Honestly, I think Kevin belongs there more than anyone. Maybe he and Margaret could get adjoining rooms. He deserves a maniac like her gnawing away at his patience all day long.

Leah writes: “Isn't it about time that they give the babies on All My Children and One Life to Live back to the rightful parents? This is a disgusting story and I hope it ends soon. To have a child and not know it is living and to wonder what you have missed with that child even if it was only a few months is dreadful thinking about it.”

Dear Leah:  It is ABSOLUTELY about time that they gave the babies back to their rightful parents.  Like you, I am more than sick of this baby storyline and I don’t know when it will be over.  I only know it won’t be soon enough for me. I don’t watch All My Children, so I don’t know what’s going on over there, but I hope that now that the truth is out about how Kelly got Ace, things will move more quickly than they have been to this point. Fingers crossed!

Cheryl writes: “I have to commend Dan Gauthier. He is a very good actor. I also want to mention Robin Strasser. Whenever this woman is on screen, she makes you sit up and take notice. Kassie DePaiva is a force to be reckoned with also. I may not always agree with these women, but when they are in a scene it is something to behold.  Natalie has become a broken record with me. Either grow up or shut up. Lately I don't think Natalie knows who she is at all. It is time for her to become grounded and deal with life. She is not the first person in the world to lose someone and I know it is hard. A big issue with her was that Chris was her world. I don't even miss that pairing at all. The jury is still out with me on Tico and Sonia. Lately, I don't trust either character. Something about him makes me think he is not who he claims to be, I don't know why. Hopefully this Santi story picks up. I don't like the idea of more characters on the canvas, we have enough people on the show that we do not use.”

Dear Cheryl:  I have to agree about Dan. Even though I loathe Kevin at this point, I always say that when an actor makes me love them or hate them that much they are doing a darned good job for the show. Ditto on Robin and Kassie…they are two women who are a pleasure to watch, even when you want to take their two heads and knock them together. I like your thoughts on Natalie…grow up or shut up. That just about says it all, doesn’t it?  Like I said above…I think I was wrong about Tico and he’s going to be trouble…probably the head of the whole darned Santi family, which I agree is growing too much and overcrowding the canvas.
