REFLECTIONS BY JILL….

I was glad to finally see a couple of people I’ve missed come back to Llanview this week…Keri and Starr.

I have missed Starr so much and that little Kristen Alderson is not so little any more. She’s growing up so fast. But Starr is still the old Starr. I liked the way she bullied Walker around, letting him know where he stands and telling him, “No one messes with Kramer women.” Have you all heard the rumor that Walker is really Todd after some “slight” physical alterations? I find that very hard to believe, but just because it’s so ridiculous, it just might be true. Don’t quote me…I read this on the message boards.

I’m glad that Keri is back…not because I love the character so much, but because it seems that Antonio is totally taken with Jessica at this point and I am interested to see how this triangle works out. I thought the top of Antonio’s head was going to blow off when he started to find out how much Keri actually deceived him. I think what she did was terrible…and the fact that she let her loser of a father orchestrate this plan while she just went along with it was nearly unforgivable. It was obvious by the way Antonio grabbed her when she appeared at his doorstep that deep down he still loves her, but I don’t see him forgiving her for a very long time.  It didn’t hurt that she gave him a clue as to where to find Jessica, but still, he’s going to be very torn.

Little Jamie is a cutie for sure. I also noticed, as did one of my readers who wrote to me, that the baby’s name had changed. When everyone thought Liz was the baby’s mother, the baby was going to be named Stephanie after Liz’s late husband, Steve. What I’m looking forward to seeing is a triangle where both of the women are “nice girls” for a change and the man is a stand-up guy. Usually there’s a bad girl trying to wreck a happy relationship. But who knows…either Keri or Jessica could get a little bit down and dirty to keep their man…and if spoilers have it correctly, they will be mixing it up over Mr. Hothead.

By the way, I think RJ has a lot of nerve showing his face to anyone who loved and missed Keri after he let them believe she was dead. They should all write him off for good. I’m so glad Hank told him off. If he weren’t such a selfish career criminal, he would have the heart and the sense to put his daughter’s feelings before his own twisted need for revenge against Antonio.

And we’re getting Kelly Kramer back in Llanview. You’ve probably heard…the news is on this Web site…Tracy Melchior (formerly of Sunset Beach and The Bold and the Beautiful) will be taking over the role of Kelly. I am sort of sad that Gina Tognoni is not coming back to reprise the role, but I think Tracy will be a decent replacement. For those of you who don’t know who she is, you can see her photo here! So now…we will have Kelly, Flash and Jen…what’s a cute, decent reverend like Joey Buchanan to do? So many women…so many sermons to give. Personally, I hate the fact that Joey even has thoughts of Jen. I’d happily write her off the list of possible women for Joey and the fact that she marries Rex just about turns my stomach.

Clint will be back in a couple of weeks for OLTL’s 35th anniversary. Even though I’m not a huge fan, I really liked his recent scenes with Natalie and his kids and I hope we get to see more of the same. Natalie is wonderful as the girl who finally found her loving parents and can now accept who she is.

What a hoot seeing Paul Hogan as Asa’s butler…at least for the little while he’ll be with us. OK, I will admit that I was one of those silly, curious people who watched “Joe Millionaire”…as horrible as that show was from week to week.  Fess up…I know tons of you watched it, too. The only bright spot on that reality show was Paul Hogan as the butler. Those women on the show should have gone after the butler and left old Joe Millionaire on the forklift. I loved it when Asa was putting and he missed the cup and said, “Nigel always moves the cup.” The scene later on with Asa and Renee putting and Nigel holding the cup was adorable.

I know, I know…Asa is a major old coot who doesn’t deserve anything from anybody…but I can’t help myself…I do so love him with Renee. She’s the only woman who he ever let handle him and he really does love her, even if he can’t easily say it. Renee is the only woman who really has his number.

How many of you believe that Jen’s video of Dr. Troy will be the final nail in his coffin when it starts to appear that he’s really his darling brother, Colin? I know, all of you Treadway fans are very upset to say the least, and I don’t blame you a bit. If it’s true that Troy is really Colin, that will make for quite an exit for Ty. I’ve always thought that would be the final twist, but before he bedded Lindsay to get her to confess, I really didn’t think he could be Colin.  Once he did that to Lindsay, I got suspicious. If it’s true that he is Colin, I won’t be surprised.

OK…the biggest spoiler on this website for me is that MITCH IS ACTUALLY GOING TO DIE! WHOOPEEEEE! I’ve had just enough of that creepy crawler, especially after he took poor Brian out and killed him for helping Jessica. And my skin absolutely crawled when he forced her to dance with him. Just thinking about him treating Jessica the way Victor treated Viki is nauseating. We should throw an online party to celebrate Mitch’s demise…at least until the next time he rises from the ashes.

How funny that Viki finally got a “flash” of recognition when Flash smiled at her. It’s about time someone had a clue. I wonder if we’ll finally see Tina back in Llanview. I was never a big fan of Tina’s, but it might be interesting to see her deal with her grown-up child and Viki once again.

I had to laugh…how many Police Commissioners and District Attorneys take time off during the day to go down to the river in their suits and ties to do a little fishing? Bo and Hank cracked me up. Maybe it’s because I’m a New Yorker and I get a huge laugh trying to imagine Wall Street businessmen heading down a few blocks to the East River to catch some lunch…literally. Of course they’d die from eating anything they might catch and I don’t think the Llantano River provides much nutrition in anything one might catch there either.

Rumors still abound about what’s going to happen to poor Ben. That old rumor about Tom Eplin becoming the new Ben has resurfaced and of all the people I can think of, Eplin would not even be a consideration for the role of Ben. I think he’s a great actor, but he’s not Ben. Actually, I can’t think of any real candidates for the role of Ben…oh, except one and he’s not at all available. If I had my way and had to replace Ben, I’d give the role to David James Elliott from JAG. Now THAT man could step into Ben’s shoes. Too bad there’s no chance of it happening.

I heard that Al and Marcie are going to really begin to explore their relationship and I think it’s going to be great. Could it be that a couple of real people will face some real problems and deal with them in a way that we’ll be interested to see? I think these two actors can do it…let’s see some good writing for them.

Just a reminder...every Wednesday night there’s a very good OLTL chat at this About.com site. Come by, talk about anything on the show that you like or dislike and meet some very nice, friendly fans. Hope to see you there.

Well, that’s it for now…

See ya next week...

FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Maura writes: "Hi there. I hope you can help me with a question that is driving me nuts. I just started watching OLTL again after a 2-year absence.  Can you please tell me how it is that Viki has a daughter named Natalie by Mitch Laurence (eww!!)?  And is Jessica her daughter now? I know she used to be? And what about Clint? Anyone's father?  This whole story is driving me crazy. They really don't explain anything on the show. And please, one more thing - where is my Todd? I used to love that man!! Thanks for any help you can give me. It would be most appreciated.”

Dear Maura: Although it is a very sick story, and I’m hoping it turns out to be a total lie on Mitch’s part, the story we were told is that when Viki delivered Jessica, she actually had twins and didn’t know it. Mitch told of how he slept with Viki (she was drugged and raped) and how through some trickery by an unethical doctor, he was able to find out that the babies had different fathers…he says he’s Jessica’s father and Clint is Natalie’s father. They want us to believe that the doctor had a way of knowing which baby was fathered by each man…totally stupid. We are all hoping that it all turns out to be a lie…but yes, Viki is actually the biological mother of both girls. As far as Todd goes, Roger Howarth has joined the cast of As The World Turns and it’s anyone’s guess if or when he might return to OLTL.

OLTLfan writes: "I’d like to know how long the character of Walker will be on OLTL.  Is there any chance he might become a regular on the show?  I like Walker. I wouldn't mind seeing him pair up with Blair. Since I hadn't been watching OLTL when Ben was still a regular character, I can't do any comparisons between him and Walker. How can you compare him with Ben, when he hasn't been involve romantically with Viki?”

Dear OLTLfan: I guess you misunderstood my comment last week about Walker not being Ben.  I was comparing the scene where Blair brought Walker home after he was shot to the time when Viki brought Ben home in the same condition 4 years ago.  I was not trying to compare Walker and Ben on a romantic level with Viki.  As everyone who reads this column knows, I am a huge fan of Ben and for me, no guy on the show compares to him on any level…lol.  Walker is OK…I think his character needs a lot of development and I’m not convinced that he is who he says he is.

Angel writes: “I actually only have a few things to say! Yes, Erika Slezak was amazing this past week, like always, and Mitch, Dorian and Viki in that church was spectacular! Another thing is that I am one of those fans that felt the deja vu...kinda creepy...and Yes, Walker is no Ben and I want Mark Derwin back!!”

Dear Angel: Nothing would make me happier than to see Mark Derwin back on the show, but I am not holding my breath. I nearly turned blue from holding it last year waiting to find out if Life With Bonnie would be picked up. I say that if Derwin is not coming back, let’s get a replacement for him and I will continue to enjoy seeing Mark with Bonnie in the fall.

Debby writes: “I have been trying to find out if the actress that plays Skye on General Hospital is married to anyone on the show in real life? I heard she was and if it is true who is he?”

Dear Debby:  I don’t watch General Hospital any more, but I am certainly familiar with the character of Skye from her stint on OLTL, as well as Another World. Robin Christopher is not married to anyone on General Hospital.  She is married to the actor Matt Crane, who played Matthew Corey on Another World. They met when she played Lorna on the same show, fell in love and got married in real life. After they were both finished on Another World, they moved from New York to California…she later came back to NY to play Skye on OLTL and then went back to California. I remember seeing him sitting next to her at this year’s Emmy Awards, so I trust they are still together.
