One Life to Live Recap for Monday, March 3, 2003

Roxy walked into the Palace hotel’s bar area, and she asked the bartender for a drink. She told him to put it on her tab. The bartender knew who she was, and he pointed out that she didn’t have a tab there. Roxy admitted that she didn’t have the cash, but the bartender didn’t pity her enough to give her a drink.

At the hospital, Cristian and Todd ran into one another. Things were obviously tense between the two of them, after all that had transpired with the kidnappings, shooting, etc. Todd asked him why he was back at the hospital, since he should have been well enough to stay away from here. Cristian blamed Todd for a lot of what happened, but Todd still seemed totally justified in his actions toward the situation. Todd asked Cristian what he would have done in his situation, and Cristian didn’t really have a response. Todd told him that he would have done the same thing: looked after his loved one. Cris said that Natalie was his loved one, too.  Todd said that he had the perfect plan: he was going to kill Mitch Lawrence, and set Blair and Natalie free. All of that blew up in his face, of course. Todd and Cristian knew they weren’t going to agree, so they both left the hospital in a rush.

Blair and Sam were having a few drinks at the Palace. Todd called Sam’s cell phone because he needed to consult with a lawyer about the will of Victor Lord. Sam didn’t answer the phone, at Blair’s request. Todd was persistent, and decided to show up at the hotel, so that he could talk to Sam in person. (How did Todd know where to find Sam?). Todd made a comment about Blair and Sam being back together, and they didn’t even care enough about what he said to try and deny the false allegation. Roxy came over and interrupted the serious discussion.  She asked them if they could spot a 20 for her. They were all so busy, and wanted to get her out of their discussion, so Blair pulled out a 20 and handed it to her. Sam explained that they were in the middle of a serious talk, so she had to leave. Roxy took the “hint” and left.  Todd explained that he wasn’t there for anything with him, but that he was there on behalf of Viki, which was half true. Todd showed Sam the will that Victor tried to make before he went into surgery. Sam said that it wasn’t legible, and that it wouldn’t stand up in court. Blair even took a look at the make-shift will, and she said that she couldn’t understand why a judge wouldn’t understand that Victor obviously didn’t want his money to go to Mitch Lawrence. Sam said that Todd was going to have to get more information, and that meant that he was going to have to get Victor to rewrite his will.  Todd pointed out that he could barely write legibly before he went into surgery.  He was certain that his father would not even be able to have control over his hands at all, once the new artificial heart was placed in his chest cavity.  Todd got frustrated with Sam, since he was not being very helpful. He started to leave, but Blair got frustrated and stopped him. She told him that she was so upset with him about everything that he had done, so she was going to change the custody, so that if anything happened to her, Cassie would get the kids, and not Todd. This shocked Todd, and he told her that she would receive the fight of her life if she tried to go through this. He left, and called Viki to get her to meet him at the hospital.

At Carlotta’s diner, Natalie waited there for Cristian.  Viki entered the diner, and approached Natalie.  Natalie was obviously very angry with Viki, and had no desire to speak to her, or even look at her.  Viki asked her why she moved out of Llanfair. She said that Natalie needed a place to settle down, and get situated, after everything that happened. Viki made it clear that Cristian was welcome to live there, too, and that they could live in the carriage house.  Natalie said that she had to leave, and that she couldn’t live there with her family. Viki asked her why it was a problem, but Natalie didn’t want to really talk about anything. Viki persisted in talking to Natalie about what happened when she was in danger.  Natalie said that she knew that Viki actually had to hesitate before responding to Victor Lord’s demand for Viki to choose. Viki adamantly denied this, saying that she was in such shock over seeing what she could only compare to seeing a ghost. Natalie said that wasn’t a good enough excuse, and that she knew that, no matter what, Viki would love Jessica more than she would love Natalie. Viki said that she loved both girls in very different ways, but that she loved them both the same amount.  Natalie said that wasn’t possible, because Viki had raised Jessica, so she had more time with her. She said that the only reason that Viki had any feelings toward her was because she didn’t have a choice. Viki said that it was just not true; she loved Natalie for who she was, and not for any forceful reason, or by default. Natalie said that she just didn’t believe her mom. Viki vowed that she would NOT give up on Natalie. She said that she was going to persist until Natalie realized how much she loved her, and that she would be able to come home. The women reached a stalemate, and Viki’s cell phone rang.  It was Todd, telling her that she needed to go to the hospital immediately.  Natalie brushed her off, telling her to leave. Viki said that she had to go, but that this wasn’t over.  She grabbed Natalie and gave her a big hug. Natalie didn’t really hug back at all, but there was a moment where we could all tell that she needed her mother’s hugs…. Moments after Viki left, Natalie tried walking toward Carlotta, who fled from the area so that she wouldn’t have to talk to Natalie. Natalie turned around, only to find Roxy standing there. Roxy asked Natalie for some money, and Natalie was appalled that she would even ask her.  Roxy said that she was currently looking for a job, but not the “burger-flipping” kind.  Roxy said that if things didn’t work out for Natalie, she was welcome to move back in with her “old mom.”  Natalie was repulsed at the thought of living with her not-real mom ever again.  Natalie said that she just didn’t want to deal with Roxy right then, so she pulled out a 20, and gave it to her, and walked away. After a bit more badgering, Roxy left.  Cristian arrived, and approached his mother. Carlotta said that she could not understand why they had to move out of her house- she said that she had tried so hard to open up her home and get to know this woman that she didn’t like at all, but apparently that wasn’t enough. Cristian said that right then, he needed to be the person who supported her and loved her, while she went through this whole ordeal. Cris and Natalie sat down while Natalie explained everything that had happened to her since she stepped her foot in the diner that day. Carlotta watched them from afar, and she had Marcy send over 2 pieces of pie, and 2 cups of tea/coffee.  Cristian appreciated the gesture, but Natalie remained unemotional. After Natalie snapped at Marcie, they resolved to get away from the stress and find a place of their own to live together.

Nora returned home after the court hearing. Matthew, who was very happy to see his mommy, greeted her. They dance and had a good time, but then she received a call from Hank, letting her know that there were some things going on with the Mitch case that needed immediate attention.

At Llanfair, Flash asked Joey to help her find CJ. Joey questioned their relationship, but she was very vague. She said that she knew about this CJ, and that she really needed to find him. She said that they used to know each other (she didn’t say how), and that she was worried because she couldn’t find him anymore. Joey said that he would help her find him. Jessica entered the room, and she asked Joey what he was doing with Flash in their living room. Joey defended flash, saying that she was all right, and that they didn’t’ have anything to worry about. Jessica wasn’t convinced, and she stormed out of the room. Joey apologized to Flash, and Flash said that it would all be forgiven, if he helped her find CJ. Joey asked her if she had a place to stay, and/or if she needed money. Flash said that she needed a hundred dollars; because she planned on paying Renee back for the vase she broke.  Joey gave her the money, and she left.  Later, at her “dive” apartment building, she looked at a picture of CJ (we didn’t see the picture), and she said that she was going to find him, and that she knew that she could trust Joey to do whatever he could to help her.

Gabrielle was at home working on the style section of the Sunday newspaper. Bo came home early from work, and surprised Gabrielle. He said that he wanted to help her with her Sunday style section. She agreed at first, but then, after not being able to concentrate, the couple made love. Nora interrupted later on, while they were drinking coffee in order to drop the latest news over in person: There was a “procedural error” and so it was possible that the stuff that he did to Natalie might be thrown out of the court. Nora and Bo both knew that this portion of their case was about half of everything, and that it was not a good situation for this to be thrown out. Nora said that if they couldn’t get all of the evidence in order, Mitch could be out of jail in a couple of years, and that he would wreak havoc on Bo and his family.

Viki and Todd met at the hospital, and they went into Victor’s hospital room. Todd brought with him a video camera, so that they could videotape his full confession/last will and testament on video. Mitch struggled to speak, but he admitted that Mitch forced him to sign the will that left him all the money. Both Viki and Todd tried asking all sorts of questions, but Victor was very tired. He struggled to get anything coherent out of his mouth. Would Viki and Todd be able to get all the pertinent information so that Mitch would never be able to take over Llanfair? Stay tuned to tomorrow’s show….
