Carlotta’s Diner

Lindsay comforts Jen over the breakup with Cris. Jen wants to know what her mother did to make Cris break up with her. Lindsay swears she isn’t responsible – this time. Jen doesn’t believe her. She tells her mother what happened with Cris. Lindsay plays the sympathetic mother, despite her happiness that her daughter is away from Cris. Jen is still convinced her mother is behind the breakup. Lindsay promises to help her daughter through the pain, but Lindsay is the last person Jen wants to help her.

Jen is still angry about the things her mother did to try to come between her and Cris. She has no intention of letting her mother comfort her when she knows her mother is happy that Cris is gone. Jen tells Lindsay she is making the whole situation worse and she rushes from the diner.

Carlotta informs Lindsay that she is not welcome in the diner. Carlotta is sure Lindsay is rejoicing that Cris and Jen are broken up and she nearly spills the beans about why Cris left. Lindsay points out that Cris was the one who hurt Jen. Carlotta reminds Lindsay that one day she will pay for all the hate she has spread.

The Park

Antonio has made arrangements to get Cris out of town. Cris is bothered by the fact that RJ found out he was working for the cops. Antonio goes over who had the information and hits upon Jen. Would Jen have told her mother? Antonio wonders. Cris is sure Jen wouldn’t confide in her mother. He is still having trouble dealing with the way he hurt Jen. Antonio points out that what Cris did will save her life.

Antonio says he can tell Jen the truth when he comes home, but Cris is sure he has blown his chance. Antonio promises to keep an eye on Jen while Cris is away. The undercover officers arrive to escort Cris to his new apartment in NYC. As Cris is leaving, Jen arrives at the park and sees him.

Jen is still hurt and pushes him away. Cris wants to know why she is in the park. Jen says she was looking for him – hoping this was all just a sick joke. She pleads with Cris to tell her he still loves her, but Cris maintains his charade. Jen throws her necklace at him and walks away. Cris picks up the necklace, remembering the day he gave it to Jen.

Bo’s Garret

Lanie pleads with Bo to give her another chance. Bo says that what she did will always stand between them. Bo can’t believe that, knowing what happened to Drew, she was cruel enough to use this particular guise to trap him. Bo tells Lanie it’s time she faced reality – they are finished.

Lanie tries to blame everything that happened in their relationship on Colin. Bo points out that Colin didn’t force her to lie to him. Lanie admits that she is still scarred from the way Colin treated her while they were married – she would do anything to marry Bo and make the pain go away.

Bo can’t forgive Lanie for telling him she was dying. He was imagining the worst and it wasn’t even real. Lanie tries to blame Bo for her actions. She claims Bo pulled away from her the day she confessed to killing her father. Lanie says he used it as an excuse not to marry her. Even if that were true, Bo doesn’t see that as an excuse for her lies. Bo tells her it’s over – he will never marry her.

Lanie offers to move out and promises she will never bother him again. Bo tells her to get help. Lanie tells him she would like to pack alone, so Bo leaves and runs into Lindsay. She asks what is wrong, and Bo tells her to help her sister. Lindsay tries to comfort her – neither of them was good enough for Bo.

Llanview Hospital

Troy tells Sam and Nora that Matthew has a rare virus that affects his neuromuscular system. Sam asks for a second opinion and Troy doesn’t have an objection to that. Troy has experience with the virus from his days in Africa. He tells Sam and Nora that there is no cure.

Nora presses Troy for answers about Matthew’s illness. Troy tries to explain what Matthew’s symptoms will be and how the virus will progress. Sam goes off; demanding a second opinion, because Matthew was fine until Troy showed up. Troy asks him not to let his personal feelings get in the way of Matthew’s treatment. Troy tells them that because they caught the condition early, he is optimistic that Matthew can be treated. Sam doesn’t want Troy to treat Matthew. Troy leaves the two of them alone to discuss the best course of action.

Hank’s Office

Keri demands that Hank tell her the truth about her father. Hank tries to put her off, but Keri persists. She can’t understand why Hank wouldn’t want to tell her the truth. Hank says there are reasons he is keeping quiet – like her mother did.

Hank admits he knew Keri’s mother when he lived in Chicago. He vehemently denies that he is her father. Keri admits that she knows Hank is her father because he has been making child support payments to her mother since Keri was born. Hank says it wasn’t what she thinks – she doesn’t know the whole story. Hank helped Keri’s mother, that’s all. He wants Keri to drop the subject. She presses him to know why he would make payments and not admit she is his child. Hank admits it was out of guilt. Keri thinks Hank is pathetic. She runs out of his office.

Hank is drowning his sorrows when Bo shows up. Hank pours him a shot and the two men share a drink.

Keri’s Office

Antonio stops by and sees Keri crying. He leaves her alone. She rips up a picture of Hank.

Line of the Day

Lindsay (to Carlotta): Really your son is nothing more than a compass. Whenever a pretty girl passes by, he immediately points North.
