The Penthouse

As Roseanne comes out to pick up the morning paper, she runs into Antonio, who has come by to pick up Sophia and take her to their first day of work.  After they've come inside, Roseanne tells him that they hadn't been able to finish their conversation at the courthouse the day before; she had gotten to tell him how she used to feel about him, but she hadn't had the time to tell him how she feels about him now.  While Antonio agrees that that sounds interesting, he counters that he's running a little late.  Roseanne says that Sophia is still upstairs primping; she was so excited that she couldn't sleep and the two had stayed up most of the night talking.  She reminds Antonio that Sophia is 'crazy' about him and tells him to take care of her at work.  Antonio still doesn't believe that Sophia has a thing for him, but tells Roseanne, "No matter how she feels about me, it has nothing to do with us."  Roseanne asks Antonio if he will talk to Sophia about that.

The Hospital

Hank is explaining to Bo that Larry doesn't think it's good to push Nora.  Bo wants to know if they've found out what's wrong.  Hank reports that the MRI and CAT Scan are normal and that Nora will be seeing a psychologist.  He feels that Nora's memory will come back.  Bo is worried about how long it will take; he says he needs her to remember who did this to her.  Maybe then his bad dreams will stop.  He tells Hank of his recurring nightmare of not being able to save Nora from the train wreck.  "It's not your fault," Hank says.  "Tell that to my gut," Bo replies.  Bo swears that if Lindsay and Colin had anything to do with what happened to Nora, he'll make sure they end up in prison.

Nora's Hospital Room

A frightened Nora wakes from a bad dream, calling out Matthew's name.

Sam's Place

Sam and Matthew are spending some time together, when the doorbell rings.  Before Sam has a chance to open the door, Todd bursts in.  Sam wants to know why Todd took off the day before.  Todd responds that he didn't feel comfortable crashing a private reunion.  Sam reminds Todd that there wouldn't have been a reunion if it hadn't been for him.  Todd points out that he and Nora hate each other.  "Why did you bust your rear to find her?" Sam wants to know.   "I didn't do it for her; I did it for you," Todd retorts.  Todd wants to know where Nora is.  Sam explains that she is in the hospital and that she has suffered massive memory loss.  He goes on to say that she doesn't remember him or Matthew, but she remembers Rachel and Hank.  Todd is pleased to learn that Nora doesn't remember anything about where she has been since the crash.  Sam vows to make whoever did this to Nora pay.  Todd wants to know who Sam is referring to.

The Gruesome Twosome

Lindsay is startled awake by a raving RJ, who is trying to choke her.   He accuses her of having given Nora the infamous drug, which she denies.  "You let everyone in this town think she was dead," he rails. Lindsay continues to deny RJ's accusations, while RJ tells Lindsay that she 'owes' Nora.  Lindsay doesn't know what RJ is talking about, "I talked to her and she was nice to me," she adds.  "You wiped her mind.  I ought to do that to you, wipe what mind you have left," RJ threatens.

The Penthouse

Sophia is finally ready to leave.  She and Antonio exchange compliments about how they look in their uniforms.  Antonio, who is visibly uncomfortable, tells Sophia that he wants to talk about being partners.  He tells Sophia that the two of them are too smart to make the mistake of getting involved; they are in enough trouble with Detective Sykes already.  Sophia agrees and says that it's not a problem.  She wants to know why Antonio brought it up.  He reminds her of what happened between Andy and her partner, telling her that anything more than a professional relationship would be a bad idea all the way around and would be dangerous too.  Sophia wants to know if Antonio is trying to tell her that he has feelings for her.  "No," Antonio responds a little too quickly, "I just want to be clear."  He tells Sophia that he likes her and respects her and is glad to have her for a partner.  She tells Antonio that it's an honor to be his partner and that he's not her type anyway. "Have I been to affectionate, too friendly," Sophia questions.  Antonio explains that this is their first day on the job and the right time to discuss their partnership.

Roseanne comes back into the room and Sophia goes out to call the elevator.  Antonio reports that he has talked to Sophia and that everything is 'cool'.  "There is nothing going on, we're fine," he assures Roseanne.

The Gruesome Twosome

RJ wants to know who Lindsay has given the drug to, if not Nora, given she is suffering from memory loss.  Lindsay is quick to point out that with the exception of memory loss, Nora's brain is fine.  She says that she didn't realize that Nora and RJ were so close.  "What is it with her and men anyway?"  Lindsay questions.  RJ mentions that the Commissioner would probably really like to know what happened to the love of his life and about Lindsay's possession of the 'wonder drug'.  "What's the matter?  Did I hit a nerve?" RJ chides.  Lindsay reminds RJ that he was the one who gave her the drug in the first place.

Sam's Place

Sam tells Todd that he was referring to Lindsay and Colin; he is sure that they had something to do with this.  Todd agrees that Colin is shifty and says that he has hated Lindsay since he was twelve years old.  Todd reminds Sam that he doesn't have any proof, though.  Sam says that he wishes Will were there; then he would have some proof.  Todd tells Sam that that would be a bad idea, because they'd just take Will off to Statesville.  Sam wants to know if Todd's 'friends" could be of any help.  Todd tells him that they cannot - they don't know anything either.  Sam laments that they are back to square one.  "No", Todd reminds him, "she's back."  Sam tells Todd that he can never thank him enough.  "Really?"  Todd asks with a smile on his face.  "Let me rephrase that," Sam says, "Matthew can't thank you enough."  Todd wants to know if Matthew knows that his mother is a little wacko.  Sam explains that he hasn't figured out how to tell him yet.  Todd reminds Sam that he needs to work on the charges against him; then he can go and do the things he has to do.  Sam asks what that might be as Todd rushes out the door.

Matthew comes back into the room with a drawing.  Sam asks him what it is and he explains that it is a picture of Mommy in heaven with her angel wings.

Nora's Hospital Room

Rachel and Hank calm Nora and want to know about her bad dream.  She explains that it wasn't a bad dream, that it was just very real.  She tells them that there was a very sad little boy and that she wanted to go to him.  They want to know if she can remember what he looked like.  She admits that she can't and wonders why she was dreaming about him.  Hank tells her that she called out the name 'Matthew".  She tells Sam and Rachel that she feels an emptiness and begs them for some answers.  Rachel tells her mother that she has to leave, but will be back soon.  As she leaves, Bo enters the room.  He greets Nora, who wants to know if she knows him.  "You tell me.  Do you remember me now?"  Bo asks.

The Penthouse

Roseanne comes downstairs to find Todd sitting in the apartment, making himself at home.  She wants to know how he got in.  He tells her that Tea had loved the place and that it made her feel like she was on top of the world.  Roseanne tells Todd to keep the keys; she will just change the locks.  Todd informs Roseanne that she won't be staying. "Guess again.  Tea gave me this place," Roseanne reminds him.  "It wasn't hers to give," Todd snaps.

The Gruesome Twosome

RJ tells Lindsay that he wouldn't mind seeing her throat slashed.  Lindsay points out that RJ has selective morals; he didn't mind her giving that drug to a Jane Doe, but giving it to Nora is a cause for outrage.
"Why are you so protective of Nora, especially when she never gave a flying fig about you."  Lindsay wants to know.  RJ muses that perhaps Lindsay would like to know what it's like to suffer from oxygen deprivation, as he goes for Lindsay's neck again.  Lindsay reminds RJ that he is no angel; he was planning on messing with Nora's baby.

Sam's Place

Sam finds Rachel at his door and invites her in.  He asks how her mother is.  She reports that Nora is in good spirits and that she has a million questions, but Larry wants her to take it easy.  Sam says that when he saw the forlorn look on Nora's face the day before, he wanted to hug her and tell her everything would be ok, just as he would if it would have been Matthew.   Sadly, he admits that he'll never forget the look in her eyes when she didn't recognize him.  Rachel assures Sam that Nora will get her memory back.  "Well, at least you got your mother back," Sam says, "I wish Matthew could have the same."  Rachel tells Sam about Nora having called out Matthew's name.  She says that she thought he ought to know about it.  Rachel wants to know what they are going to do and Sam wonders how he is going to tell Matthew his mother isn't dead.  Rachel states that it's not fair to either Nora or Matthew.  Rachel tells Sam that she is convinced that Nora knows about Matthew in her heart; it's just that her head hasn't figured it out yet.  "Maybe we can help it along," Sam says.

Nora's Hospital Room

Nora looks at Bo and says, "I'm supposed to know you."  Before he can respond, the nurse comes in and asks he and Hank to leave the room.  Bo says that he'll be back later, but before Hank can leave, the nurse realizes that she needs some things and leaves herself.  Hank stays and Nora tells him that she remembers something.  Hank wants to know if it's about Bo.  "No," she tells him, "it's about Matthew."  The name of the boy in that man named Sam's house.  It was Matthew, wasn't it?"  She points out that everyone got 'funny' when she had asked about Matthew.  "Do I have another child?  Is Matthew my son?"

The Police Station

Antonio and Sophia are in Bo's office, with Sophia talking a mile a minute.  She tells Bo that she and Antonio did the wrong things for the right reasons and that they are grateful to him, the DA, Detective Sykes, etc.  Bo stops her and tells her that it is customary to let the Commissioner speak first.  Detective Sykes has given him the report on the incident.  He points out that rookies will make mistakes, but it is important that they not be repeated mistakes.  Their job is to protect people, but they must be able to make a strong case against the wrong-doer.  He continues that he has always been proud of the force and that he wants to be able to continue to do so in the future.  He then welcomes the two aboard.  Sophia leaves and Antonio stays to talk with Bo about RJ and Barnes.

The Gruesome Twosome

"Mess with Nora's baby?  You must have me confused with someone like you," RJ chides.  Lindsay wants to know how it would help Nora if her baby ended up with the wrong father.  "Given your plan, I think it's best if she doesn't remember Bo or Sam", Lindsay comments.  "You forget my plans, or they will be running tests on you and then they'll call your next of kin", threatens RJ.

The Penthouse

Roseanne tells Todd that Tea 'earned' the apartment as payment for being with him.  She wonders how Tea could have fallen in love with him, but then adds that Tea always did love dumb animals.  Roseanne asks Todd what he did to Tea to make her dump him.  Todd asks Roseanne if she knows where Tea is.  She tells him that she doesn't, but if she did, she certainly wouldn't tell him.  Roseanne attempts to throw Todd out, which only serves to make him angry.  When he starts tearing up the apartment, Roseanne calls the police.

Nora's Hospital Room

The nurse finishes checking Nora out and leaves.  Nora tells Hank that it is bad enough having a memory loss, but she doesn't like them keeping things from her.  She tells Hank that she is strong; she survived the train wreck.  She needs to know about her life, especially about that little boy.  She looks up to see Sam standing in the doorway.  "You will and you should," responds Sam.

The Police Station

Antonio tells Bo that RJ soon realized that he was being tailed and that he has scared Barnes into hiding.  Antonio thinks Barnes is scared and with a little pressure would talk.  Bo reminds Antonio that they need to find Barnes first.  He tells Antonio that RJ has had a lot of practice evading the law and that he shouldn't feel bad about what happened.  Antonio tells an interested Bo that RJ met with Lindsay twice at The Palace, but admits that he couldn't get close enough to hear the conversations.  Antonio leaves, telling Bo that he would be willing to help him out again and that it is a pleasure to serve on the force.

Sophia excitedly tells Antonio that they have their first call; it's a break-in and it's at she and Roseanne's apartment.  The two rush out.

Bo pulls out the Nora's missing person's file.

Nora's Hospital Room

"You're Sam," Nora says.  Hank explains that Todd brought Nora to Sam's house when he found her.  Nora wants to know why.  "Whose son is the little boy?" Nora wants to know.  Hank and Sam's silence tells Nora that Matthew is hers.  She breaks down.  "Why don't I remember?" she sobs.  Hank tells Nora that he thinks she did remember Matthew; her mind just needs a chance to catch up.

Sam tells Nora that Matthew loves her and misses her.  "I have him outside.  Would you like to see him?"  Sam asks.  She says that, of course she would.  While Sam is bringing Matthew inside, Nora asks Hank why Sam is watching Matthew.  Matthew enters and mother and son share a joyful reunion.  Matthew asks his mommy if she had to leave her angel wings in heaven.

The Penthouse

Sophia and Antonio burst into the penthouse with their guns drawn.  Roseanne tells them that it's about time they got there.  She tells them that Todd broke in, threatened her and trashed her things.  She wants him arrested now.  Antonio wants to know what Todd has to say for himself.  Todd tells Antonio to talk to his lawyer.

Nora's Hospital Room

Nora explains to Matthew that she never went to heaven, even though people thought she did.  She was lost, but now she is back for good.  Matthew wants to know if she is sick.  She tells him maybe a little, but she's much better now.  She promises Matthew that she's not going to go to heaven for a long time.

RJ looks in on Nora and Matthew from the hall and smiles.

The Police Station

Bo is sitting at his desk, studying Nora's file.  Sam comes in and tells Bo that he has decided to go ahead with the paternity test.
