Sam and Nora separated for good?
Nora and Troy together?
Sam and Blair possibly becoming couple?
A lot to take in, I know! All of these things may happen,
unless we take stand now!
Here is
my personal opinion about this:
First of all, what really gripes me about the storyline with Nora and Troy is
that this is not in Nora's character to get involved with somebody who resembles
the man who almost took everything away from her. I love Ty Treadway on the
show, and I'm personally glad they brought him back. However, his character has
much to be desired. He doesn't need to be portrayed as somebody who also becomes
obsessed with Nora, as his brother once did. I think Troy's storyline with
Lindsay has much more appeal and great potential down the road. Think of these
two working on schemes together? What fun!
Sam belongs with Nora, and Nora belongs with Sam. Period. Just as Todd and Blair belong with one another. Just as Ben and Viki belong with one another. Some couples should not be messed with. Of course there are going to be conflicts and periods of separation; this is the world of soap operas. However, to permanently break up a couple for no logical reason seems ludicrous. Yet, this has been done way too many times, and the fans become unhappy.
I know there are still a lot of Bo and Nora fans out there, believe me when I say this that I was once one of them. I loved them together as a couple, but too much time has passed, the mystery and romance between them, in my opinion, is simply gone. They are much better as friends. I want to see Bo with somebody new, somebody whom he can honestly love again. Perhaps it will be Gabrielle, perhaps it won't. We all know Gabrielle can't be trusted very much, but then again, it could be Bo to change her ways. I think a new and improved Gabrielle would be fascinating to watch develop, and it would certainly expand Robert S. Woods' (Bo) role on the show. Or perhaps we will see somebody completely new hooking up with Bo, who's to say at this point.
Laurence Lau and Hillary B. Smith have both expressed how much they love working together, and it's clear they have an incredible onscreen chemistry. Their characters have been on hold way too long, and it's time to see them happy. Does anybody really want to see Nora hooked up with an obsessed-shirtless Troy? Not to mention a very angry Lindsay coming after Nora.......haven't we gone down that road enough? It's time to move forward, not back.
Todd and Blair fans can certainly appreciate the happiness these two are enjoying, even if it is only temporary at this point. Todd's secret will eventually get back to Blair; this is the conflict I was referring to above. However, Blair can forgive Todd; after all, he did bring her son back to her. In real life, this may not happen, as this act of Todd's was quite drastic, but this is a soap opera folks. For the die-hard Todd and Blair fans, this can be forgiven and can pass, and these two will resume their happiness until the next crisis.
I, for one also want to see Sam and Nora together for the sake of their son Matthew. Is there not enough portrayal on television of broken families? Do we really have to see another little child go through this most devastating event in their young life? I can see it now, Sam will come over to pick up Matthew for the day, and low and behold, there stands Troy to answer the door. It will be Matthew in the middle, when these two grown men argue over parental rights and of course over Nora. Not to mention, we will be seeing the same argument when Todd shows up at Blair's to pick up Starr.
I'm asking the fans of Sam and Nora, and of Todd and Blair, to stick together on this campaign. We need to let TPTB know we will not stand for this break-up of either couple. I know it may seem like an uphill battle, especially when it seems we are fighting against Bo and Nora fans, and even to an extend, Todd and Tea fans. I'm the first to admit that I can stay very devoted to a couple for a long period of time. Gee, I think if it wasn't for wonderful Ben in Viki's life, I'd love to see her back with Clint. And look how long that's been since Clint has been in Llanview? But I also realize when it's time to move on. Change is inevitable, and it's time for some fans to move out of the past. The fans of Sam and Nora need and deserve a reunion. It's been way too long since the train crash and we really don't want to go down another path with a Colin-look-alike.
Fans of Todd and Blair, the same thing goes. The character of Todd has been hilarious lately, and it's because he finally sees the prospect of a real family, and true love (and of course genuinely wonderful acting by Roger Howarth and Kassie DePaiva). What's wrong with showing happiness between these two for more than a month? It's certainly not boring, in fact, quite the opposite. I'm disappointed when Todd and Blair are not on; they are the humorous part of the day's entertainment.
So join us in saving both couples, before it's too late. As Laurence Lau's fan club president, I am urging all fans to help in this effort. Also, please join Larry and his fans at his Official Guestbook; he'd love hearing from all of you. Let's show him our support on this campaign.
