Biography and Credits:
Mr. Walton was born and raised in Hampton, New Jersey. In grade school, he participated in activities such as art class and community theatre as well as sports at the encouragement of his parents. In high school, Walton joined the creative writing, debate and filmmaking classes and won awards as a visual artist. At the age of 17, he won a scholarship to an actors training program outside New York City. Shortly after, he earned another scholarship to the Boston Conservatory. While vying for his BFA in Theater, Walton co-founded the Conservatory’s first newspaper.
By the age of 19, Walton began acting professionally full time. He appeared in Off Broadway productions such as Hair, Rush’s Dream, The Sweepers and The Tailor Made Man among several. Matthew starred in a long list of television shows including All My Children, Guiding Light and Law & Order. Additionally, Walton began voiceover work as a spokesperson for mega-giants such as Cablevision and Rooms To Go. He produced and starred in Death In Love; and served as an associate producer and appeared in the films, Favorite Son and Montclair.
Walton played various characters throughout his film and television career but most notably to date is his character on One Life to Lives’ evil masterminding blackmailer, attorney Elijah Clarke – who began on the soap in early 2009. Walton can be also be seen on DIY: Man Caves with Jason Cameron, airing in the Fall 2010. In addition to his many talents, Walton will direct his first feature film, My:) Face; A romantic comedy of social networking for Shake the Tree Productions later this year.
