Biography and Credits:
Ms. Lozano was born on December 16, 1969 in Princeton, New Jersey to Eduardo and Spanish teacher, Elizabeth Lozano from Argentina. Florencia grew up in Newton Centre, MA. She spent less than two years at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY until transferring to Providence, RI and received her B.A. from Brown University in Literature. While there, she became very active in theatre and later relocated to New York. She earned her MFA degree at NYU’s Tisch School of Arts acting program.
Ms. Lozano is an accomplished dancer in the areas of ballet, jazz, modern and flamenco. She was part of several theatre productions including, Yerma, Caucasian Chalk Circle, Hamlet and Antigone to name a few. She moved to Santa Moncia, CA but decided New York was where she wanted to be and returned.
Florencia won the role of tough, no-holds-barred attorney, Tea Delgado on One Life to Live in December 1996. Her first airdate was January 27, 1997 and was also romantically involved with actor Christopher Welch at the time of her arrival on the soap. Working simultaneously on OLTL, Florencia pursued other acting gigs but eventually left OLTL in 2000. She starred in movies and several television prime time shows in which she played various homicide detectives. Florencia prepared for her roles by visiting the local homicide division of the local police precinct.
With a loyal following of fans, Florencia continued to receive a mountain of fan mail on OLTL. She reprised her role in 2008 and continues to present day. She enjoys reading John Grisham novels and writing as Associate Artistic Director for the Labyrinth Theatre Company.
