Nora brings Marty home and shows her to her room. Cole is there and ready to take care of his mom. Nora gets called to Bo’s office. Cole explains that he’s been looking at colleges. It dawns on Marty that Cole’s father is missing, Cole is forced to tell Marty the tragic story of Patrick’s death. Marty puts the pieces together, Cole affirms Marty’s assumptions – the same people who caused her accident also killer her husband. Cole and Marty look at old photographs, hoping they will jog her mind. Cole reminds Marty how happy she was with John, though Marty doesn’t remember.

Blair brings Starr home, she tells Dorian of Todd’s sick plan to steal Starr’s baby. Dorian explains that she went to Joplin for answers and vows to get them, she also wants to see Todd suffer for what he did and what he was planning to do. Blair feels genuine sorrow for Marty, Dorian thinks it’s great Blair can get over her and Marty’s past issues – though Dorian raises a good point…what if Marty remembers that she loved John and wants to “fight” Blair for him. George, the officer that John knocked out, “explains” what really happened – he tripped and hit his head, when he came too John was gone. Bo knows that’s not the truth, Antonio wants to circumvent the laws John broke so John can get a lesser sentence. Bo explains that he can’t look the other way because John broke so many laws. Mayor Lowell bursts into Bo’s office and demands that John be brought up from his holding cell so he can personally take John’s badge from him. Nora shows up, Lowell tells Nora that he wants John prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Mike goes to visit John in jail, telling him about Marcie’s return home and the ill effects losing the baby had on her. John reminds Mike that he’s not alone, John promises to do whatever he can to help his brother and Marcie. Antonio arrives at John’s cell, ready to take him to see the mayor. Mike follows along as a throng of television reporters swarms John and pegs him as Llanview’s newest hero. Mayor Lowell is forced to eat his own words, going on camera to say that, while not particularly proud of John’s methods, he is ecstatic over John’s results at saving the life of Marty Saybrooke. Bo and Nora watch as the Mayor continues to play the charade, when they know a minute ago the Mayor was going to fire John. The Mayor formally reinstates John to the police force, John literally throws his badge at the Mayor and tells Mayor Lowell to shove the job.

Jess awakens deep in her own psyche, wherein she meets Bess. Jess demands to be let out, Bess explains that Tess has to take care of something first. Jess can’t believe that she has another alter; Bess explains that she’s been the “gatekeeper” all along and decides when Tess can go out. Jess is afraid that she’ll never be let out if Tess gets too strong. Bess had a deal with Tess, reassuring Jess that she’ll be let out soon. Tess freaks out when she wakes up in a straightjacket. She screams and demands to see her baby. Viki calms Tess down, she desperately wants Jessica back but Tess refuses to let Jess out, wanting to take care of her own baby. Viki makes a deal – she’ll bring Tess her baby if Tess lets Jess out. Tess agrees, a nurse brings Tess/Jess’ baby. Tess takes one look at the baby and knows that it’s not hers, Tess thinks Viki played her and has a meltdown. Bess sees that Tess is freaking out and decides it’s time to let Jess out. Tess returns to within Jess’ psyche, where Bess tells her to sleep off the anger. Jess returns to Viki and tells Viki that she has another alter. . .
