She Who Blasts Last …. Blasts Best …. - OLTL Recap for October 29, 2008

OLTL Episode Recap

From Carlotta Carly Schmittgen, for About.com

When John hears a knock at the door of his apartment, he hides the investigative board with Marty’s picture. It’s Fish announcing he’s gotten his laptop back. McBain’s encouragement is quickly erased when he finds out it’s just the case --- the evidence is gone because the hard drive got ripped up. Fish feels bad and begs the detective to let him help with the case. McBain reluctantly tells him bits and pieces. He feels that Keyshawn, the missing and former bodyguard, saw the mystery woman and he’s a key to proving who the woman is. John also admits having a relationship with her.

In the basement of Llanfair, Natalie and Jared are leery of a sack lunch being offered by the wacko. Tess gladly tastes the morsels to prove they are safe for the duo’s last supper! After the redhead assures her sibling that she’s not going down quietly, Tess sneaks a glance back at the purseful of dynamite she also brought with her. Natalie further rubs her wrong when she taunts her sister about Nash not being hers, Bree not being hers and the baby not being hers.

At the former Buchanan mansion, Cole and Nora re-bond. She promises the lad she’ll have more time for him. Thornhart is struggling with an assignment to write about the person who has the most impact on him since his is one who isn’t even born yet. He wonders if his baby will have his dead mother’s smile or eyes.

Meanwhile in Starr’s room at LaBoulaie, Langston inquires about a suitcase on the pregnant teen’s bed. Manning explains that it’s for the hospital. The girls review a checklist (warm socks???) and Langston is embarrassed when she reads off “clothes and blankets to bring the baby home in.”

Over at the Manning residence, Janet listens to a cell phone message inquiring if it’s worth the pay Manning is giving her. Marty enters the room to check on Bree and notices that her nurse is distracted. She asks the aide if she needs to talk. Saybrooke instead does all the talking about the attraction to the baby smell and the room where Bree’s staying. Janet hints that maybe Marty had a baby boy. The former shrink feels it’s time to move on with Starr’s baby and Todd since McBain was hurting her when they were together. The nurse goes to another room to relook at the detective’s message and thinks to herself, “She’s happy and cops lie” and then deletes his voicemail.

A room away, Todd answers the door and finds his bodyguard and Viki. The matriarch is perplexed when Manning assures him that she should be on the list of approved visitors. Her mood quickly changes to anger when she finds Todd redoing his stories about when Jess was last there. She challenges him about John McBain’s suspicions of Jessica deliberately causing a distraction with false labor. Even when Viki tells her brother, she thinks the alter has taken over Jessica, Todd still pretends he noticed nothing. Viki spots Bree’s giraffe on the couch and asks Todd how it got there. When he says the toy was left behind after their visit two weeks ago, the sibling informs her brother that the giraffe was given to Bree two days ago upon Viki’s return from Africa! He backtracks and admits Jess spent last night there, but didn’t want anyone to know. Viki asks for a glass of water and sits on the couch to await Todd’s return. There she finds a baby monitor and hears Bree crying! Viki starts a search and Manning returns to find her gone. He hears Marty’s voice coming from the monitor on the couch! He bolts! Viki’s hand reaches for the knob of the door Saybrooke is behind!
