In The Boom Boom Room - OLTL Recap for Thursday, October 23, 2008

Matthew and Shane enjoy video games and a sleep over, wherein Shane tells Matt about his mixed feelings for Rex. Matt explains how he didn’t know who his father was until he was 6, Shane hopes that both of his dads are going to be okay. Wes goes to see how Brody is doing, Brody admits that he remembers a few things about being on the mountain but not everything. Wes tells Brody that he shot Rex, Brody explains that he thought he was back in Iraq. Wes tells Brody that he needs to let go of the fact that he shot Rex, Brody wants to know what will happen to him if Rex doesn’t make it. Wes tells Brody that Rex isn’t doing too well, but Wes promises to be there for Brody.

Dr. Joplin calls Todd to make sure that he hasn’t changed his mind about stealing Starr’s baby. Todd explains that the plan is going according to plan, Dr. Joplin explains that it will be difficult convincing Starr, Blair, Marcie and the delivery room nurses that the baby is dead after seeing the baby alive. Todd tells Joplin not to let Blair and Marcie into the room and has a plan regarding the nurses. After checking on Bree, who is still awake, Tess tries to rock her to sleep. When that doesn’t work Tess brings Bree into the living room. Todd takes Janet into Bree’s room and tells Janet that she is going to help him steal Starr’s baby. Janet refuses to do so, fearing that she will emotionally scar Starr for life. Todd tells Janet that she has no choice in the matter, seeing as how bringing a baby home will help Marty. Janet explains that she has to think about it.

Meanwhile, Tess overhears the entire conversation on the baby monitor. Tess brings Bree back to her room, wherein she realizes that she’ll need money in order to live. Tess plans to steal the crown jewels and pawn them. Tess asks Janet to watch Bree while she runs out, Tess runs into Todd as he is trying to decide on baby names. Tess explains that, after her errand, she will be out of Todd’s house come morning and be long gone. Todd can’t wait to see Tess leave. Meanwhile, Tina took Todd’s suggestion about blowing up the safe in order to get to the crown jewels. After a few failed attempts, Tina scours the Internet in search of the proper way to blow up explosives. After a quick trip to the hardware store, Tina is ready to blow up the safe. From the safety of the terrace, Tina rigs up the explosives as directed and pulls the switch to trigger the explosion just as Tess walks into the library where the safe is.

Adriana catches Gigi going into Rex’s room and demands that the nurse show identification. Marcie rushes downstairs to try to deter Adriana from realizing that the nurse is Gigi. Adriana still wants to see ID, the doorbell rings and Michael enters as he stopped by to check on Rex. Marcie makes it look like she didn’t know Michael knew Rex was there just as Mike gets a glimpse of Gigi. Mike tells Adriana that Nurse “Nancy” worked with him in the ER a few years ago. Marcie convinces Adriana to go take a bath while Mike and Gigi go see Rex. Another nurse is in the room, which Mike relieves. Mike tells Gigi that Rex isn’t doing so well and this might be the last time she will see him, Mike gives Gigi a moment alone but tells her to hurry up as he can only run interference for so long. Gigi sits with Rex and reminisces about the past, reminding him of when they first made love, when they found each other again, when Gigi thought she lost Rex after his marriage and when she traveled back in time to save Rex. Rex is unresponsive as Gigi reminds Rex that he’s got a son to come back to as well as her. Gigi kisses Rex on the forehead, just as she does Rex opens his eyes and smiles. . .
