Can This Marriage Be Saved? - OLTL Recap for Wednesday, July 8, 2009

OLTL Episode Recap

From Carlotta "Carly" Schmittgen, for About.com

At LaBoulaie, McBain interrupts the marriage ceremony with news that Cole is not going to prison! Todd takes charge and cancels the wedding. Cole is furious and stands up to Todd. Starr asks for time alone with Thornhart on the patio. Manning retreats to the foyer where he and Tea banter about the latest development. As they get flirtatious, Blair walks in on them and suggests they go ahead and make things legal since there’s a preacher present. Dorian tells advantage of the delay of the wedding to make phone calls begging her invited guests to be there at the dinner party that night.

At the rehab center, Schuyler presents Rachel with flowers left for her. The card is not signed, but “indicates” they’re from Shaun. Gannon tells Joplin how so totally opposite the brothers are and he responds on how he knows two sisters the same way. Schuyler tells Rachel about the whole Gigi saga. She inquires if he has feelings for her and he brushes her off. He even tells Gannon about how Stacy claims she consummated the relationship with Rex and how he thinks Gigi is unaware of the development. Gannon suggests he stay out of it and he admits he having a hard time since Stacy was so supportive during his drug binge. They decide to continue their conversation at lunch.

Over at Llanview Hospital, Nora and Bo watch with much concern as Matthew struggles walking on the bars. He finally falls and both parents rush to pick him up. Across town at The Palace Hotel, Destiny squeals with delight when Greg presents her with a cell phone. When Shaun says they can’t afford one, Greg announces that it’s through his provider and he’s being billed for everything! The doctor asks his sister if getting the phone makes up for missing dinner and when she says, “Hell yes!” Shaun is miffed. Greg inquires if Rachel and his brother “have a thing.” After Destiny has Shaun take pictures of Greg and her with her new cell toy, the doctor tells his sister that the test results are back on her “boyfriend.” At the hospital, Bo’s cell rings and it’s Greg wanting a meeting with Nora and Bo as soon as possible. After Greg leaves, Shaun asks who’s on his sister’s speed dial. She replies that both brothers and Matthew are. She in turn asks about his relationship with Matthew’s sister. On cue, Rachel enters the restaurant, but she’s not alone. Shaun looks with concern at her company --- Schuyler Joplin.

Meanwhile at the cottage, Rex presents a plan to Gigi on how they can find the blood, but it means letting Shane in on the truth about Aunt Stacy. They will tell Stacy that the leukemia is back and he needs more stem cells. Gigi is very reluctant to tempt fate but finally agrees to the proposition. Rex says they don’t have time on their side as he’s afraid Stacy will leave the stem cells out somewhere the same way she forgets and leaves milk on the counter.

At the Buchanan Mansion, Viki presents Clint with a rather long guest list, but assures the other groom that many friends overlap the couples. The matriarch is concerned that her ex is pushing for a quick wedding and is no different than Asa was wanting “to win.” As Clint makes “cowboy references” to his relationship with Nora, Viki smiles and accuses him of being insecure. Later, Bo and Nora arrive to meet with Greg. Clint graciously begs off from the meeting to get ready for a trip to Los Angeles. Dr. Evans arrives and says he’s made a decision about the case.

Back at LaBoulaie, Marty asks John how he got the sentence reduced and McBain responds, “You may not be thankful when you hear the terms.” On the patio, Starr tells Cole how much she loves him and she knows he loves her. Thornhart looks shocked when she says, “But I can’t marry you.”
