Rising from the Tumble - OLTL Recap for Friday, June 5, 2009

Mike and Marcie are preparing their apartment for the arrival of Hope, putting together a crib. Todd shows up, Mike – thinking he’ll cause trouble – tells Todd that he’s calling the cops. Todd explains that he’s there to apologize for what he did during the whole Sam fiasco and apologizes for what he did with Hope. Todd gives Mike and Marcie a check, telling them to use the money for Hope. Mike and Marcie are stunned, before Todd leave he promises to call when he and Blair are about to bring Hope over. John commends Brody, who is back to work, on a job well done finding Jess. Brody thinks it was dumb luck but John sees detective potential. John gives Brody the day off so he can be with Jess, Marty brings Cole in for something to eat before Hope returns home. John takes Cole aside, after Cole refuses to eat anything, and has a talk with him. John gives Cole a book of Irish Poems – written by Patrick. Cole remembers Marty reading one and can almost recite it by heart. John listens as Cole reads, from the poem Cole gains the strength needed to welcome his baby back home and then say goodbye when she is handed over to Marcie and Mike. Starr is gazing towards the sky, holding Hope’s adoption papers in her hand.

Blair, who is checking on Starr, realizes that she is quiet distant – even though her baby is alive and well and coming home soon. Starr shows Blair the adoption papers, which Starr never signed because she thought her baby was dead. Blair can see that something is wrong with her daughter, Starr explains that she has mixed emotions regarding the adoption of Hope. On one hand, Starr feels obligated to let Marcie adopt Hope because Starr promised Marcie – even when Mike left Marcie, Marcie never backed out of the deal. On the other hand, Starr knows that Cole wants to keep the baby and Starr begins to see this as another chance to have the family that she and Cole dreamed of having. Blair tells Starr that only she can decide what to do, and promises to be there for Starr when she decides either way. Todd arrives and apologizes to Starr for what he was going to do with Hope, and then explains that he supports any decision Starr makes regarding the welfare of the baby.

Blair and Todd head to Llanfare to collect Hope. Marty and Cole arrive, Marty lets Cole and Starr have some time alone wherein Starr tells Cole that she’s made a decision regarding Hope. Clint and Viki call Dr. Levin to Llanfare to help with Jess, they sit vigil awaiting for Jess to come downstairs. Viki explains that, now that Jess’ last secret is out, Jess can hopefully be closer to recovery than previously thought. Jess comes downstairs – in her head she is ready to face saying goodbye to Hope, however her heart is breaking. Jess explains to Bree that Chloe will be going away and won’t be able to come home. Bree seems to understand and is bothered by her sister leaving. Clint and Viki go to the nursery to ready Hope for Todd and Blair’s arrival. Viki is afraid that losing Hope will trigger another mental breakdown for Jess, Clint hopes it doesn’t come to that. Clint and Viki bring Hope downstairs to see Jess – wherein Jess says a tearful and heartfelt goodbye to Hope. Todd and Blair arrive to take Hope to Starr, Jess apologizes for what she did. Both Blair and Todd seem to be understanding, Todd collects Hope’s things as Blair brings Hope to the car. Viki breaks down in Clint’s arms as Jess runs upstairs. Jess ends up in the nursery, where she begins to cry. Brody shows up and comforts Jess as she sobs over the loss of not only her and Nash’s baby, but also of the loss of Chloe. . .
