Hope is Alive - OLTL Recap for Thursday, May 28, 2009

After neither Layla nor Cristian can afford their own apartments (and neither wanting to live with their mother), they decide to become roommates. Bess readies herself as she begins to put her plan in motion. With constant interference from Tess, Bess shuts Tess out and commences with her plans. Bess brings Chloe to Phil and Cindy Brennan’s house – Nash’s biological parents. After passing Chloe off as their grandchild, Cindy and Phil are all to eager to have Jess stay with them for as long as she needs so that they can get to know their granddaughter. Phil asks if Nash will be joining them soon, Bess informs Phil and Cindy that Nash had an accident and passed away. Cindy and Phil admit that they could’ve been better parents to Nash – as they were forced to give him up at a young age. Phil shows Jess the guest room, wherein Bess settles in for a long stay with the Brennan’s.

Blair tries to keep Starr in the dark about Jess taking Chloe, not wanting any unwarranted questions from Starr – however, Starr sees something on the internet and wonder how they could issue an Amber Alert when Chloe is Jess’ baby. Blair quickly changes the subject and asks about Starr’s prom. Starr admits that it was nice that she and Cole went together, she then admits that Cole said he loved her – though it was when he was detoxing and isn’t sure if Cole remember he even said it. Blair thinks it’s a big deal, but promises not to tell anyone. Starr tells Blair about exhuming Hope’s body in hopes of finding out what really happened to her, Starr’s attention then reverts to Jess’ baby. Blair wonders, to herself, how much longer she can keep the truth from Starr.

Meanwhile, Mike and Marcie are working feverishly to find out what happened to Hope. John stops by for a visit and Marcie wants to enlist his help in finding the truth about Hope’s death. John knows that it’s time to reveal the secret, however, he clears it with Blair first – who says that she’s about to tell Starr and Cole the secret. John returns to Mike and Marcie and explains that he knows what happened to Hope. Mike and Marcie are excited to know what really happened to Hope, and are even more elated to find out that she’s alive. Todd goes to see Viki, Viki begins to blame herself for what happened to Jess. Todd reminds her that she can’t do that, he also hopes that Jess will return with the baby soon. Viki is adamant about Jess’ near return, however she reminds Todd that Starr already promised the baby to Marcie. Todd explains that he’ll cross that bridge when he gets to it. Blair calls Todd to tell him that it’s time to reveal the secret to Starr and Cole, Todd rushes over to Blair.

Meanwhile, Cole stopped by to see Marty – they share breakfast wherein Cole asks what triggered Marty’s memory returning. Marty doesn’t want to talk about her stint with Powell, suggesting they talk about prom. Cole admits that he’s glad he went to the prom with Starr. Marty thinks this to be the beginning of a reconciliation but Cole isn’t too excited about it. Blair calls Marty to join in her meeting with Todd, Marty explains that she and Cole on are their way. Starr becomes increasingly suspicious that something is up with Blair when Todd arrives and he and Blair are civil to each other. Suspicions abound when both Marty and Cole arrive at the house too. Starr believes that they’ve talked to the funeral home and know where Hope is buried. Blair, Marty and Todd sit Cole and Starr down to tell them that Hope isn’t dead – she is alive! Charlie arranged for a camera crew to ape Viki pleading with America to be on the look out for Jess and Chloe. Phil sits down to watch the evening news, wherein he is introduced to Viki via television and watches in shock as Viki pleads for the safe return of Jess and Chloe. . .
