Clinging to Hope - OLTL Recap for Friday, May 22, 2009

Fish and Bo interrogate Kyle, who claims that he had no knowledge of Rebecca’s doings – regarding Powell and the killings. Fish believes Kyle on this, however he feels that Kyle is guilty of blackmail. Bo gets called away for a phone call, Kyle demands a lawyer and gets to make his one phone call. Meanwhile, Stacey is using all that she can to get Rex to invite her to stay in his apartment. Rex, however, isn’t phases by Stacey’s machinations. Stacey keeps pushing and pushing, until Rex finally agrees to let Stacey stay until she finds a job. Rex runs out to make Stacey a key, Kyle calls Stacey and tells her to get to the police station to bail him out or Rex will find out the truth about where the stem cells really came from. John is taking Blair back home, he wants to go to the hospital however Blair just wants to get home to see her kids. Blair calls Todd and tells him about Tea, Todd rushes to the hospital. Marty agrees to keep quiet until he returns.

During the car ride, John tells Blair about Powell and Rebecca’s scheme – going as far as to tell her that they kidnapped Jess’ baby, who is really Starr and Cole’s baby. Blair doesn’t believe that for a second. At Todd’s house, Marty tells Cole that her memory has returned, she remembers everything – the good and the bad. Cole is elated to finally have his mother back. John brings Blair home and she and Starr have a reunion. Starr and Cole go to the kitchen for refreshment, Marty tells Blair the truth about Chloe. Blair can’t believe that Starr’s baby is alive and can’t wait to tell her. John, who received a phone call, explains that Bo has just called him to tell him about Jess taking off with the baby. Neither Marty nor Blair can believe that they’ve just been given a second chance with their granddaughter and it has just been taken away from them. Cole and Starr return, wherein they tell Blair, Marty and John the news about exhuming Hope’s body – all three look mortified as they know the truth is bound to come out more sooner than later.

Todd rushes to Tea’s side, where Mike is examining her. Todd asks Mike about Tea’s condition. Mike explains that, because of the blast and the gas inhalation, Tea’s injuries might be fatal. Todd is beside himself, he sits with Tea and talks to her – remembering when he did this years ago when Blair pushes Tea out a window. Todd begs Tea to come back to him. Meanwhile, at the hospital, Clint just got off the phone with Bo and is trying to get in touch with Dr. Levine. Brody thinks that Jess simply checked herself out and is going back to Llanfare. Viki, after hearing Brody’s description of how Jess was acting before she disappeared with the baby, feels that there is something more to the story. Both Viki and Clint try to reach Jess via cell phone, but their results are fruitless. Brody wants to know what’s going on, Clint wants to keep him the in dark. Brody, however, explains that he’s in love with Jess and deserves the truth. Viki tells Brody about the baby switch and about Bess taking control of Jess’ body again. Brody wants to call Jess, to see if he can get to her. Bess is driving with the intent of leaving Llanview and never returning. After refusing calls from both Clint and Viki, Bess breaks down when Brody calls and answers her cell phone. All of a sudden, Jess is back in the “drivers seat” and is scared because she doesn’t know where she is or how she got there. Brody calms her down, Bo arrives and tells Brody to find out where Jess is. Jess explains to Brody that all she sees around her are woods, there’s nothing to signify where she is. Viki takes the phone, hoping to get more information out of Jess. However, once Viki speaks, Bess returns telling Viki to give up the search as they will never find her or the baby. . .
