OLTL Episode Recap

From Richard Schwertfager, for About.com

Gigi demands that Shane return home, though Rex doesn’t want Shane to leave. Stacey, who does want Shane gone, manipulates Rex into seeing that Shane leaving is the best thing for Shane. After Shane, who was less than thrilled to go home with Gigi, leaves Rex kicks himself thinking he’s made the wrong decision. After the basement explodes, John emerges from the rubble unharmed. John looks for Blair, who has come too and is calling out for John. John finds her and helps Blair from beneath the rubble. John returns to the basement in search of Tea. By this time, Bo and a Crime Scene Unit have arrived. John finds Tea underneath a pile of wood, the CSU and EMTs clear away the rubble. Tea is barely alive, she is strapped to a stretcher and taken to Llanview Hospital. John gets one of the EMTs to look at Blair while he talks with Bo. John fills Bo in on what Powell said about Chloe and Starr’s baby. Bo explains that Viki called him and its confirmed that Chloe is really Starr’s baby. Bo suggests that John tell Blair ASAP. Powell’s body is brought down in a body bag, both Bo and John watch as its loaded into the ambulance.

Jess hears Viki yells Chloe’s name and rushes out to get her daughter. Marty hands over Chloe to Jess as Jess demands to know how Marty got Chloe. Todd explains what happened between them and Powell & Rebecca. Viki can’t believe that Powell was able to escape. Clint convinces Jess that she needs to do what the doctors tell her, after Jess refuses any tests – explaining that she just wants to go home and be with her baby. Clint bring Jess, Chloe and Brody into an exam room while Viki stays behind to talk with Todd and Marty. Todd brings up the “elephant in the room,” and Viki confirms that Powell was telling the truth – Chloe really is Starr and Cole’s baby while Jess’ baby was stillborn. Viki asks Todd to explain to both Starr and Cole that Jess will need time to let herself go from the baby. Marty understands and will stress this point with Starr and Cole. Todd and Marty leave.

Michael and Marcie visit Cole and Starr to tell them that preliminary tests are completed. Cole and Starr are saddened to hear the news about how their baby died, however Mike explains that the DNA taken from the baby in Hope’s grave doesn’t match either Starr and Cole’s DNA. Starr begins to think that her baby might still be alive, however Cole believes that there is some mix-up – thinking their baby is still gone. Mike explains that the only way there could have been a mix up would be at the funeral home because the hospital has the chain of custody cards regarding Hope the night she was born. Mike and Marcie leave as they have an appointment at the funeral home. Todd and Marty arrive home, both children elated to see their parents. Marty explains to Cole and Starr that they’ve got something to talk about and they should all sit down.

Meanwhile, Viki and Clint start the monumental task of getting Chloe away from Jess long enough to have a DNA test done. Jess refuses to part with Chloe, saying that she just wants to go home. Jess sees Bess in the mirror and demands to go home even more. Clint and Viki leave Jess in Brody’s care, Clint finally gets in touch with Dr. Levine who agrees to meet Jess at the hospital. Viki and Clint are nearly run over when Tea is brought into the hospital. Meanwhile, Jess is suffering from a breakdown and trying to keep Brody from noticing, she sends him out for a glass of water. Brody locates Viki and Clint and brings them back to Jess’ room, only to find it empty. Viki starts to freak out, while Clint calms her down. Bess has reemerged and is driving somewhere with Chloe, telling Chloe to say goodbye to Llanview as they are never returning. . .
