Not for the Faint of Heart - OLTL Recap for Wednesday, May 20, 2009

As Rex is dreaming of Gigi in bed with him, he awakes to Shane complaining of stomach pain. When Stacey tells the boy to go back to sleep, Balsom informs her they’re going to the hospital and he’s on the phone to Gigi. When all arrive at the hospital, Gigi is not happy to see Stacy with Rex. Shane is not thrilled either to see his Mom and tells her to go back to Brody. Stacy thinks Shane caught her bug and as Gigi flashes back to sabotaging her sister’s burger with spoiled mayo, she smiles and says, “I don’t think so.” As the doctor questions the boy, he finds that the child had been pigging out on junk food the past twenty four hours. Stacy returns with two coffees, smirks at Gigi and explains she only had two hands. Rex offers to share his with Gigi. The doctor gives his prognosis of a sugar crash after all the junk food and sternly lectures the boy. As Stacy assures the doc they’ll watch what he eats, Gigi rolls her eyes.

In response to John’s gunshot, Powell’s lifeless body falls on Todd. John prods about the baby and Marty explains Powell kidnapping the child and telling Todd and her, it’s their grandchild and not Jessica’s baby! She also tells her former beau about getting her memory back. Manning is worried about his kids so McBain assures him they’re under police protection and suggests Todd get Marty and Chloe to a hospital to get checked out. He announces he will look for Blair and Tea. When the three reach the main level of the building, they find Rebecca still out. Todd states he smells gas and quickly leaves with Marty and Chloe. As they ride into town, both wonder if that’s truly their grandchild with them. Manning wonders what would have happened to Chloe of John hadn’t gotten there and worries, if this is Chloe, how his niece will handle the news in her fragile state.

In the basement, Tea and Blair gasp with their final breaths. As Tea prepares to confess *the secret, * Blair loses consciousness. Delgado babbles that she would rather die in Todd’s arms as would Blair, then drifts off.

At Llanfair, Natalie and Jared stumble through a clumsy explanation to Viki, Clint and Charlie about the baby switch. The parents are puzzled as Viki and Clint were with Jess right after the delivery. As Nat and Jared tell them about the surveillance tapes and seeing Bess enter the hospital with a bundle and leave with a baby, Viki realizes that they have a major problem! Clint remains skeptical when the couple tells him a DNA test has been done by the same tech who botched Vickers’s test. He demands to know whose baby it is if it’s not Jess’s? Viki hands go to her month in horror as she realizes Starr’s baby was born that night also! Clint is furious when the newlyweds announce that they’ve decided the truth must be withheld from Jessica!

On the roadway, Brody is concerned about an obvious meltdown of Jessica. Poor Jess is seeing flashbacks of Bess at the cottage and the stillborn baby. She lets out a blood curling scream and loses consciousness.

John reaches the basement, finds the locked door and bangs on it. On the main floor, Rebecca regains consciousness. As McBain breaks the lock, Lewis calls out for Powell. John quickly reports the leak, condition of the two women and the dead. body of Lord to 911. When Rebecca hears that she quietly starts down the stairs. Meanwhile, John has brought out Blair’s body and gone back for Tea. As he picks up the limp body, he turns to find Rebecca standing there.

Brody arrives at the hospital with Jess and she is quickly put in a room. He calls Viki and briefs her on Jess’s hallucinations. Over at Balsom’s apartment, Gigi orders her son to pack his bags! Meanwhile when Todd and Marty arrive at the hospital, he orders a check on the baby as well as a DNA test. Right behind them are Viki, Clint and Charlie. When the matriarch screams out, “Chloe,” Jess bolts out of her room and into the hallway. Back at the frat house, McBain advises Rebecca there’s a gas leak and they need to get out of there. She lights a match and an explosion follows!
