Blood Ties - OLTL Recap for Friday, March 13, 2009

Jess sees that Brody gets settled into his new room, Brody explains that he’s thinking about leaving Llanview. Jess doesn’t want him to do that, she realizes that she’s becoming too pushy and needs to let Brody decide for himself what to do. Brody says that he might stick around for a while, Jess and Brody becomes closer and share a kiss. Stacy explains that Gigi threw her out, Skylar thinks that Stacy is up to her old ways and really was hitting on Rex. Stacy swears that she wasn’t, she runs into Roxy in the hallway as Skylar is staying in the Angel Square Hotel. Roxy is glad to see that Gigi wised up and threw her out. Bo and Nora meet with a neurologist who tells them that Matt’s paralysis hasn’t gotten better, which means that Matt might be paralyzed the rest of his life. Nora and Bo come to terms with this, Clint shows up and asks for an update. Clint believes that they shouldn’t tell Matt that he may never walk again, instead focus on the positives to give Matt encouragement to make him want to walk again. Bo and Nora believe Clint’s idea is the way to handle the situation. Clint gets on the phone, planning to bring every specialist he can to see Matt. Nora and Bo go into Matt’s room and prepare to talk with him.

Natalie and Jared continue discussing Bess’ appearance at the hospital. Natalie believes that Bess switched the babies. Jared doesn’t believe it to be possible. Natalie explains that something awful had to happen to Tess to bring Bess out, she thinks it’s the death of Jess’ baby. Natalie goes on to explain that its plausible for Bess to have switched the babies to spare Jess the mental anguish of losing another child. Jared begins to believe Natalie’s hypothesis. Both know that they need to do something to prove the true identity of Chloe’s parents. Marcie runs into Starr in the hallway and sits her down to talk. Marcie explains what she found out regarding Cole’s Rh factor. Starr breaks down crying, wanting to know what really happened to her baby. Marcie promises to be there for Starr, so they can go thru this together. Starr is so upset by this, she copes the only way she knows how to – by running straight into the arms of Skylar.

Mike tells Gigi and Rex that Shane has leukemia and they need to start chemo as soon as today. Mike leaves them alone to talk, Gigi breaks down not knowing how she’s going to deal with this. Rex promises to be there for her, every step of the way, so they can deal with this together. Roxy and Stacy are called, Rex explains that they both need to get tested to see if their bone marrow matches Shane’s. Gigi rushes home to get Shane while Roxy and Stacy are tested. Roxy goes in for her test and then rushes out, Stacy finds this odd. Before she follows Roxy, Stacy gets a hold of Rex’s blood test results and throws them out. Stacy follows Roxy to another hospital room. Meanwhile, inside, Roxy is telling Rex’s father that she’s going to have him tested to see if he matches Shane. Marcie finds Mike and tells him about her startling discovery regarding Cole’s Rh factor. Gigi brings Shane to the hospital, where Rex explains to him that the doctors found something abnormal in his blood tests. As Gigi looks on, Rex goes on further to tell Shane that he has leukemia. .
