One Life to Live Recap for Friday, August 8, 2008

Antonio fills John in on the happenings in Mendorra, John feels that he needs to call someone at the FBI or State Department to try to get Talia back into the US. The Mayor of Llanview overhears them talking and warns John not to call either place. Antonio is adamant about doing something, the Mayor doesn’t want to hear any more of the subject, reminding them he’s got citizens to protect. With reluctance, John accepts the new position the Mayor gave him – Interim Chief Commissioner.

Sarah dreams about going over the falls, Cris comforts her as Layla walks in. Layla and Sarah talk – Sarah about her Mendorra experience and Layla hinting around her debacle with Vincent. Tina shows up at Llanfare and tells everyone that she’s moving in, Tess is less then thrilled thinking that Tina moving in will ruin her plans for Natalie and Jared. Tess introduces Tina to Natalie. Tina and Natalie play catch up and realize how alike they are to each other. Tina gets to meet Jared, Cris and Sarah stop over. Tina promises to Sarah that she will stay in Llanview for a while, she sneaks off to feed David Vickers – wherein Tina reaches into the sweater the dog is wearing and pulls out the real crown jewels of Mendorra.

Tess continues her quest to find a carpenter to build a secret room in the basement. Gigi tells Shane that she is going away to find Rex, Shane is less than thrilled and goes stomping up the stairs. Delphina tells Gigi that she has to hurry in order to find Rex – knowing full well that Gigi wants to find Rex because he is Shane’s real father. Meanwhile, Brody talks with Shane and tells him that he has to respect his mom’s wishes. Delphina explains to Gigi that she has a plan for her to find Rex…the catch – Delphina demands $5,000. Gigi explains she doesn’t have the money, Brody comes through and floats her a loan. Delphina and Gigi are on their way to finding Rex.

Meanwhile, in 1968, Rex/Bo and Bo/Asa are trying desperately to find their way home. Fina asks if they’ve done anything to alter the future, for if they have it will be harder to get back. Bo/Asa explains about the Emma situation, Fina believes that there still might be hope – providing that nothing else gets changed. Bo/Asa realizes that he’s got to do something he doesn’t want to do – send Clint out of town for the day while he tells Maria Roberts to leave Texas and never come back. Natalie/Maria is just about to tell Jared/Clint about her being pregnant when Bo/Asa interrupts. Bo/Asa sends Jared/Clint out of town and bribes Natalie/Maria to leave town.

Meanwhile, Rex/Bo and Fina figure out that the “conduit” to the time portal is Rex’s cell phone. Fina explains to Bo/Asa and Rex/Bo that the time portal is closing and they need to get to it tonight because the next time the portal will open is 1988. . .
