One Life to Live Recap for Tuesday, August 5, 2008

Tess announces she has a surprise for Viki and Natalie, and leads them into the decorated library. Viki states that she wasn’t supposed to leave for a few days, but Tess says that she changed it so she has time to visit Kevin and Joey before heading to Africa. When Tess becomes agitated, Viki grows concerned about leaving. Clint tells Nora that he has another plan to get BE back, but it’s something that she’d rather not know about. Natalie calls and tells her father that Jessica is throwing Viki a going away party. Cole comes home and tells Nora he sighed away his rights to his baby and broke up with Starr. Nora tells Cole that he did the adult thing and that Marty would be proud of him.

Jared shows up at Angel Square Inn looking for Charlie but Roxy tells him that his father is out searching for a fan. When Charlie returns without the fan, Roxy heads out to find one. Jared dances around the subject until Charlie tells him he knows that Viki is leaving town then confesses that he was not out looking for a fan but at an AA meeting. Jared says that it may be for the best that Viki is leaving and Charlie agrees. Natalie calls, begging Jared to come to Viki’s party despite the fact that Clint will be there. Before leaving, Jared gives Charlie a copy of a book that has some of Charlie’s work in it.

Langston wonders if Dorian shouldn’t let the fight between her and the Buchanan’s fade away. Dorian wonders where the fun in that would be as she walks in to find Starr crying. She tells them that Cole broke up with her. Dorian and Langston try to convince Starr that Cole will change his mind but Starr insists that he won’t. Dorian wonders if Todd talked Cole into breaking up with Starr. Starr denies it, but Dorian continues to put the blame on Todd. Dorian leaves Langston and Starr alone. Once outside the room, she vows to make Todd pay for getting Cole to end things with Starr.

Blair and Jack run into Todd at Hallowed Grounds. Blair accuses Todd of stalking them and intends to call John but Jack gives her a hard time. Jack wishes Todd luck when Blair asks their son to leave them to talk. Once alone, Todd accuses Blair of teaming up with John to browbeat Cole into giving away his grandchild to the McBain’s. Blair is shocked to learn that Cole signed away his rights and denies having any hand in his decision. Todd doesn’t believe her and states that if Blair weren’t so busy sleeping with John that she’d stop Starr from giving away her baby. When he tells her that it is killing him not to see his kids, she says she isn’t trying to punish him but his obsession with Cole and Starr is out of hand. Before he can respond, he gets a call from Viki inviting him to her going away party. Todd says he’ll be there after a while, prompting Jack to ask if he can hang out with his dad. Blair agrees to a few minutes, stating she doesn’t want Jack to be late to his sleepover. Todd blows it by commenting that Blair doesn’t want to be late to her sleepover either. Angrily grabbing her shopping bags, she takes Jack and heads out of the coffee shop. Todd gathers his own bags as he mutters that they are his kids too.

Dorian is furious when she finds out that Blair and Jack ran into Todd and wonders if Blair called the police. Blair tells him that she didn’t have to because he was headed to Viki’s going away party. Dorian is further enraged to find out that Viki didn’t invite her to the party after Dorian saved her life. Before leaving, she tells Blair that Starr needs her mother. Starr tells Langston that Cole will never forgive her for giving away their baby. Blair tries to comfort Starr but her daughter insists that she doesn’t want to talk about it anymore. Blair changes the subject by offering to show Starr and Langston what she bought while shopping earlier. Blair realizes that one of the bags isn’t hers and opens it to find that Todd bought a nightgown for his “girlfriend”.

After Clint and Nora leave, Markko shows up at the mansion and confesses that Nora called him. Markko shows him a new video game and convinces Cole it will make him feel better. Cole explains to Markko that he can’t ever forgive Starr for taking his baby from him. Markko asks if Cole cares that he’s hurting Starr. At Viki’s party, Clint and Nora are less than thrilled when Todd shows up. Todd begins to question how the accident happened and if Natalie had problems with her brakes before. He then wonders if someone tampered with the car to try to kill Natalie and points out that she and Jared have quite the list of enemies these days. Clint insists on changing the subject and Todd points out that he’s an obvious suspect. Tess interrupts her uncle and asks if they could talk about something other than death. Jared shows up and Viki overhears him say that he was with Charlie. He tells her that Charlie is doing well and thanks her for asking. When Natalie offers to get him something to eat, he tries to stop her from leaving him alone but she darts off in time for Clint to corner Jared. He tells Jared that he is pretending to tolerate Jared for Jessica’s sake but insists that it would be easier if Jared would stay the hell away from him. Tess tries to get Viki to promise that she won’t worry about anyone in Llanview while she’s gone but Viki says she can’t keep that promise as she holds on to the AA coin that Charlie gave to her earlier. Before she can finish, Dorian shows up wondering if someone forgot to invite her.

In Mendorra, Carlo orders his guards to kill Antonio, but Talia steps in front of him, telling her father that they will have to kill her first. She then offers to stay if Carlo lets the others go. Antonio refuses to leave without Talia when Carlo lets them go. Talia tells him he has to go home for Jamie. Antonio promises that he will see Talia again. On the plane, Cristian bandages up his brother and tells him they had no choice but to leave Talia. Antonio promises that he’s going back as soon as he figures out how to get Talia out. As they are taking off, Cristian sees Sarah through the window and makes the pilot stop the plane. Everyone is happy to see Sarah alive.
