Margaret tells the doctor that Blair is a dog and that her husband Todd can't get this bitch out of his mind. The doctor says, "Blair is a dog ? But your husband kept referring to her as his love."
Margaret replies, "Yes, he is very devoted to the bitch."
She gives the doctor a large sum of money towards the clinic in exchange for not reporting the gunshot wounds to the police. She had explained it was a gun cleaning accident that lead her to shoot her husband once... in each leg. After the doctor leaves, Margaret inclines Todd's hospital bed to show him a copy of The Sun, where the headline is "Coward!" above Todd's picture. Blair controls both The Sun and Craze at the moment, and this is her message in print. The kind doctor makes Margaret leave the room, he turns on a television for the aching
in- and out-of-it Todd.
Jen, dressed in jeans and a cute peach and glittery top, looks like an angelic doll with her long blonde hair curled and off to the side. She and her bf Riley are having a drink when Nora/Daniel approach them to tell Jen that the new evidence was destroyed rather than enhanced (the tape showing who put the gun in Dorian's office desk). Nora claims Jen is just a suspect and is not alone. Jen is justified in being a bit excitable to learn she is a suspect again.
Paige is at Bo's office, but Bo gets distracted by new evidence- a VHS tape. Bo turns around and Paige is gone. Bo remains at the office, finishes his work, and after a while, wonders over to his desk where he takes out a picture of Gabrielle. He says some mushy stuff and then puts the picture in the desk. He wants to open his heart again. Bo turns off the lights, has his coat on and is ready to leave his office when in comes someone into the dark room. It is Paige, looking sexy.
She didn't leave earlier because she was mad -- she is wearing a raincoat, and takes it off to reveal a blue slip underneath. They neck.
Wow, they are perfect together. (Paige is so beautiful and so patient with him about his work and neurotic ex-wife.) Bo later explains to Paige that it was on this night one year ago that Gabrielle was killed (stupid serial killer). Bo locks the door (let's hope Nora doesn't come busting in this time...) so he can be alone with Paige.
Whao, out of nowhere, Jessica sitting in the back seat of a limo, asks the driver to take her to River Valley, 15 miles east of Llanview. I haven't liked her this much in one scene since the time she was wicked in Natalie's pre wedding dreams (ah, the expressions...). What is going on, why is Jessica looking for fun so far from home and why alone? Did she get a rub off from Tico, with a hidden bad side?
What a rockin New Year's... as the countdown starts Daniel asks Nora to marry him. He kinda puts her on the spot. Gets down on one knee in front of people... he is so cute and adorable. He had just asked Nora about Bo (PLEASE STOP PUSHING THEM ON US - Bo belongs with Paige, get over it Nora.) Daniel is a recovering alcoholic, which just makes me wonder about his timing. Nora is surprised by the question. Watch - I bet she'll obsess over it.... or will probably run off to ask Bo about it.
Blair asks Viki for some airtime and since Kevin is late, Viki lets Blair say what is in her heart on live TV. Thank you Viki. We should get to hear more music from Llanview's fine talent. Blair sings ...
"Don't make me sorry that I love you..." , a love song to Todd. Heard on radios and TVs everywhere, Margaret is like, oh no, when she realzes that it is Blair singing on the TV. Since everyone listens to the same station.... (Brava Cassie.) It works, Todd hears her sing from his hospital room. He wakes up hearing her voice and then opens his eyes to see her on the TV.
Kevin, still with Kelly, says he has to go and gets up. Kelly doesn't want a television (an unusual request). He stops. He thinks. Then he either has a call on his cell or has a mini radio because he hears Blair singing on what should be his airtime (just like a Buchanon to think the countdown to the next year will wait for you). Kelly has succeeded and Kevin now knows it. "Should have known", he says. Here is my favorite scene in the entire episode: with Blair singing... in the forground Kevin storms out of the front doors of Llanfair. In one long shot, we see Kelly all the way back in the library with the decorated Christmas tree. She walks closer to the door looking after Kevin. We can only wonder if she feels bad Kevin is mad, late, or if she really missed talking to him so much, she would pull this just to get the chance. She has already admitted to still loving him.
