One Life to Live Recap for Friday, December 31, 2004

It is the last day of 2004. Friday, 12-31-04. Happy New Year's Eve.

Evangeline, looking fabulous in a shimmery purple short gown with slits up the side joins her boyfriend John at the police station. He is wearing a suit and tie and looks pretty spiffy himself. They agree to leave their cell phones behind and take off for a fun evening. (Who else voted online for John and Evangeline as best couple of the year?)

John and Evangeline walk around the snowy path of the park, and see Antonio and Jessica talking there. They don't stop but just say hello and happy new year to them. Evangeline gives John points for not harassing Jessica into confessions. No work tonight, the couple states.

Antonio realizes he pushed Jessica into marrying Tico and he tries to kiss her. Antonio is trying to get back everything he threw away (or can blame Tico for taking from him). Problem is he thinks he can do it just by asking. Jessica resists Antonio's kiss. (Do you think she was thinking of Tico?) I am too young to be this sad she crys. You can't fix it with moonlight and kisses. Too much has gone down. She will go on about her life without Antonio. He declares he loves her. She runs away.

At Llanfair, wearing a maroonish-red slip dress and red pendant, Natalie is joined by her husband Cristian, surprised to learn he wants to go out. (... yeah he has changed, but it is so annoying the way she always second guesses him, they were married for what, 6 hours before he left?) He looks hot, wearing a white shirt and jacket. Of course, they end up at the same party as John and Evangeline. Looks are exchanged.

Once Cristian gets up for drinks and Evangeline goes to the WC, Natalie runs over to John. "Why in the world would you tell Evangeline that we kissed?" John wants to be honest with his gf, and the kiss didn't mean anything. Yeah, it didn't mean anything to Natalie either. Meanwhile, Cristian beats up an annoying waiter who couldn't wait 2 seconds for his money (I doubt he makes par for the Palace waitstaff, calling him 'buddy' and he wants his 28 'bucks'). Seems Cristian gets a headache because of it. Maybe he was having a migraine, but that waiter put his hand on him. Cristian re-acted. (okay, Cristian over-reacted -- what is wrong with him? He didn't need to kick that chair either) Natalie arrives and sees the end of it. She is mortified.

Viki, in a sophisticated black suit with gimmery hems, sits with Kevin at Llanfair. She is glad to hear he is not aligned with Govenor Brooks, and he admits that although he did whatever he needed to do to get elected (Tico actually did that) as Lt. Gov, he now wants to do some good. Kevin is to give an important speech tonight on television to be broadcast all over Pennsylvania, to be televised from The Palace. They also talk about Kelly and how she knows where Ace is. Viki knows he is still mad at Kelly, but Viki says it seems what is most important is what is right for Ace, and Kelly has convinced Viki she has done just that. Viki knows there is something more to the story of Ace.

Kelly and Blair are at the gala dressed up as the hot Cramer women they are: Blair in a black sequened gown and awesome shoes and Kelly in a blue dress with gold waistband which is really flattering. Kelly wants to help her cousin. Blair tells Kelly Todd is dead to her. Kelly tells Blair that if she wants to say something to Todd, she can as she has a plan. She tells Blair they just need a little of Kevins's airtime so Blair can say whatever she wants to Todd and if he is in the state he will hear it. Kelly later shows up to Llanfair (Viki has already left), pretending she twisted her ankle on the slippery entrance in her high heels. Kevin, not without some sense of kindness helps his ex-wife to a chair in the library and fetches her an ice pack. They get to talking. And then for real a little. Kevin fiiinaly admits he made a mistake by sleeping with Blair. Kelly thought she needed a baby... runaway train. She was so afraid of losing him. What if they had a magic wand and could just make the last year go away.

Todd wakes up in a hospital bed asking for Blair. The doctor (love this guy...) notices and asks his delirious patient what he means. When Margaret returns the doctor suggests Mrs. Dawson get this Blair person over here right away as her husband is not getting any better. (Fat chance Margaret will do this.)
