Nash wakes up next to Claudia and asks himself what he just did. Nash wakes her up, explaining that they need to talk. Nash tells her that he remembers everything from last night and doesn’t want to get her hopes up for a relationship. Claudia understands that they are just friends, what happened last night. Nash explains that he cares about her too much to let sex come between them again. Claudia understands, meanwhile Jess is cleaning up John’s apartment and goes to throw some things away. Jess sees Nash and Claudia in the hall, as Nash is giving Claudia a kiss goodbye. Paige goes to see Nora to ask why she’s seeking vengeance for her. Nora explains that she wants to say thank you to Paige for taking care of Matt while she was in the coma.

Paige hopes that she might be able to get her license back, Nora gets a call from an AC cop asking if she knows Hugh. Nora hands the phone to Paige, the cop explains that Hugh was in the accident as well and is in AC General Hospital. Nora and Paige race to the hospital to see Hugh all bandaged up from the accident, which he sustained numerous burns. Paige knows that Hugh is in pain, but the main this is he’s alive. Nora wonders if Paige should tell Spencer, Hugh kind of shakes his head “no.” Mike has been up all night, trying to process everything that’s happened. Marcie wakes up after hearing a knock at the door, Eve is there and is excited about giving her ring to John for Nat. Mike sits his mom down and explains what happened to John, Even can’t believe that her son is gone. Mike explains that John was finally at peace after solving his dad’s case, Eve asks if Nat knew about the engagement plans. Mike explains that it was going to be a surprise. Eve thinks that Natalie should know about this. Mike, against it at first, wants to be the one to tell her. . .

Jess approaches Claudia and asks if they spent the night together, which Claudia admits to. Jess shames her for preying on Nash’s emotional instability. Nash breaks up their verbal argument and makes the mistake of mentioning that, just because he and Claudia were together doesn’t mean she means anything to him. Claudia thinks Nash says this only to calm Jess down, she says nothing. Jess wants to leave, but Claudia wants to talk. Nash goes into the bathroom. Heated words are exchanged as Jess puts down Claudia for using Nash while Claudia makes fun of the Viki/Niki-Jess/Tess “family tree.” Nash walks out of the bathroom just in time to see Jess slap Claudia. Paige sees Hugh uncomfortably moving around as he moans. Paige, on instinct, picks up Hugh’s chart and is caught by the doctor.

Paige and Nora leave the room as the doctor replaces the bandages. Paige runs into an old friend, Becky, who was a nurse when Paige was doing her residency. Paige realizes that she has to notice Hugh’s foster parents of the situation, while Paige is gone. Nora questions Becky about the night Paige operated on Spencer. Becky explains that, since Paige was an attending physician, the only job Paige had to do was close up the wound. Becky goes on to explain that Paige could do that with her eyes closed. Nora knows something is up but can’t quite get to the bottom of it, Paige returns and explains that the foster parents are on their way. Nora offers to stay with Paige, Paige tells Nora to go home to be with Matt.

Layla goes to Van’s apartment and breaks the news about John. Van thinks that Layla just heard a rumor and can’t believe that John is dead. Layla explains she talked to Bo about it, Van realizes that John is gone and isn’t taking it too well. Van wants to be with Mike and Nat but Cris won’t let her leave, Cris offers to go find Nat and Mike and talk with them. When Cris is gone, Layla asks Van if she was still in love with John. Van explains that she is in love with Cris, but not the same way that she loved John. Van goes to retrieve a box from her closet, filled with John’s things, and explains that she doesn’t even know why she kept them. Layla goes to make Van a cup of tea, Van sits there holding John’s things, crying as she remembers what a good time they had together.
