One Life to Live Recap for Thursday, September 23, 2004

Shannon and Rex go back to Asa with the rope ladder. Asa says he won’t be able to climb up the rope. Rex tells him that’s all he has to work with. Asa manages to get up the rope ladder and onto solid ground. Asa asks Rex to give him a lift back into town. Rex wants more money. Asa agrees to write him another check. Back at the mansion, Shannon ices up Asa’s sprained ankle. Asa tells Rex that he reminds him of someone. Rex asks who. Asa lets out a laugh. Rex and Shannon leave. Asa vows revenge on Todd and Blair.

Tico is at the Palace getting the room ready for tonight’s big event. Kevin shows up and thanks Tico for financially backing him. Tico says money is no option but he does need a favor. Dorian asks what the favor is. Tico covers up by saying he wants Kevin to talk Jess into coming tonight. Dorian says the Jess has to come to represent Viki. Kevin will try but he and Jess aren’t speaking.

Adriana is frantic because the hairdresser hasn’t arrived. David goes to answer the door to find Duke there. Adriana is so embarrassed that she doesn’t want Duke to see her. Kelly helps Adriana fix her hair while David stalls Duke. When Duke steps out, Adriana runs upstairs and begins to get ready. Kelly runs up behind her. Addie thanks Duke for the wonderful picnic and asks David where Blair is. Addie begins to tell David about the monster she saw.

Antonio is leery about Benicio’s meeting them. Sonia reminds Antonio that Benicio is related to Jamie. Benicio shows up and reveals that he’s glad Sonia killed off Jamie but still doesn’t trust them. Antonio introduces himself as Manuel’s eldest son and admits that he wants his rightful place in the family. Benicio isn’t a Santi supporter. Antonio wants to meet with El Tiburon. Benicio will tell El Tiburon but won’t guarantee a meeting. Antonio wants to follow Benicio but Sonia talks him out of it saying that they can’t afford to mess up the investigation. Sonia still believes that Tico is innocent. Antonio reminds her of the briefcase. Carlotta comes over and wants to talk to Antonio.

Duke and Addie work on a puzzle. Kelly says that Adriana is almost ready. David brings up the Ace issue saying that he wishes Kevin would give more time with Ace to Kelly. Duke admits that he’s tried to talk to Kevin but has gotten nowhere. Kelly just can’t get over that fact that Kevin is hanging around with Dawes again. Dorian rushes in, glad to see Duke ready for the gala. Duke promises to take good care of Adriana. Adriana comes down looking stunning in her dress.

Tico is back at home. Benicio is there to warn him that Antonio was asking about El Tiburon and he wants to meet with him. Tico warns Benicio that Antonio is very dangerous but El Tiburon will meet with him.

Duke tells Adriana she looks great as they take off. Dorian asks why everyone isn’t ready. David runs up to get dressed. Kelly says she isn’t going. Dorian convinces her to go saying that they can show Kevin that she’s not afraid of him. Dorian and David are dressed and ready to go to the gala. Dorian hopes that Kelly is ok. David tells her that Kelly is fine. Kelly comes down in a nice dress and announces that she’s ready to go but wants to take her own car. After some disagreement, Dorian and David take off. Kelly stays behind and calls Karen, Ace’s nanny. Kelly asks Karen if she can see Ace tonight. Karen will meet Kelly in a public place so Kevin can’t say anything. Addie warns Kelly not to do anything foolish.

Carlotta begs for Antonio’s forgiveness. Antonio is still angry at the fact that Carlotta lied to him all his life. Carlotta says she did it out of love and protection and begs Antonio not to turn his back on her. Antonio leaves her standing alone.

Rex and Shannon arrive at Angel Square. Shannon got a kick out of watching Rex milk Asa for the money. Rex wonders who Asa reminds him of. Shannon thinks Rex reminds Asa of a younger, more conniving Asa.

Tico is on the phone with Jess asking her to come to the gala. Sonia comes down as Tico is hanging up. Tico covers up by saying he was rehearsing his speech rather than talking to Jess. Sonia asks if he’ll be ok. Tico has Isabella on his mind but will get through the night. Tico runs upstairs to get ready. Sonia finds the briefcase. Tico comes back down and they leave the house.

As they leave, Antonio sneaks back in and closely examines the briefcase. Benicio knocks him over the head and Antonio falls to the ground. . .
