Fan Recap for One Life to Live

From Jennifer Faulkner, for About.com

John and Bo still can’t figure out Sonia. They think she might have murdered Octavio Vigil, and she might have the Santi millions. As they brainstorm, John receives a call from an FBI chief saying that the Llanview police are no longer allowed to investigate Octavio Vigil’s murder because the FBI is taking the case. John thinks Sonia must have connections with a dirty agent in the FBI so she can pull strings. (There’s actually a fleeting moment that John thinks she might be a good guy, but I stress “fleeting.”)

Shaken and crying, Jess storms into Lion’s Heart and asks how Tico could keep Angelina’s secret from her and Antonio. However, he holds her and paints himself to be a loving son who kept a secret to protect his mother. Although hysterical at first, Jess eventually understands because she’d do anything to protect her mother too. Tico uses Jess and Antonio’s situation to get closer to her. He suggests that she stay at Lion’s Heart for the night because there’s no sense in her being home alone if Antonio’s not there. Tico puts on a show and talks about how lost he feels without his mother. Jess pulls him close and tells him not to worry because she’s not going anywhere tonight. They’re going to get through this together, she says.

Sonia tells Antonio that he’s still the man Carlota and Diego raised. “You’re still a man of principle. You’re still a gentle, loving father. Nothing in your genetic makeup can change that.” However, Antonio says he always knew there was a wildness in him that didn’t come from Carlota or Diego. Throwing back the bottle, Antonio starts falling to his lowest point. Sonia tells him he has nothing to be ashamed of. She takes his face in her hands, and they kiss passionately.

Nat tells Paul that she can’t help him with RJ, but he demands that she get him the money. John interrupts their conversation. Paul suggests that he leave, but John doesn’t listen. When Paul asks Nat to leave the roof with him, she refuses. After Paul leaves, she tells John that she ended her relationship with Paul. He says that he’s happy for her as long as she’s happy. Quietly, they witness the sunrise together in the stillness of the morning.

Tico works his syrupy charm on Jess at Lion’s Heart as they watch the sunrise. Meanwhile, Antonio’s thanks Sonia for keeping him company. He thinks there’s something more he needs to find on Tico. He tells Sonia that Tico might be El Tiburón, but Sonia doesn’t think so. Either way, she tells Antonio they are in this together, and they’ll find El Tiburón, but no one can know she’s an agent.
