Mike and Marcie go to see Janice, the case worker, about finalizing the plans to take Tommy home. Janice explains that there is another family out there, who is more experienced with foster care, that wants Tommy. Janice leaves them to discuss their options, Mike makes the commitment to adopt Tommy ASAP. Marcie thought that he didn’t want to do that, but Mike changes his mind. Janice returns to find out their decision and then finalizes the paper work with them. Kevin and Kelly see the doctor, who tells them that the second round of tests they did were better than the first. Kelly is happy as she is told that she will be able to go home. Kevin interprets that as Kelly coming home to Llanview, but Kelly explains that she has to go on without Kevin because she knows he doesn’t fully accept the baby on account of who the father is. Kevin doesn’t want her to go but respects her decision.

Bo and John use the search warrant to have total access to Spencer’s office. Bo, John and a few officers tear the place apart looking for anything that will tie Spencer to any one of the crimes he’s being charged with. John finds a hidden space behind Spencer’s bookcase. John pries open the hidden door and pulls out a locked security box. Paige shows up to check out the progress. Bo explains about the box they found, Paige takes a closer look at it and realizes that it’s a special hospital issued box – meaning they can’t pick the lock as the lock contains magnets that are only released with the specific key made for that lock. Bo fears that they may never know what’s inside the box. Paige explains that the records office has to keep copies of all keys that are issued. John tries to open the box, while Bo retrieves the key.

John and Bo get their first glimpse of what’s inside the box – medicine packed with syringes. Bo immediately thinks that whatever drug it is, was the one Spence used to cause Margaret to lose her memory. A forensics tech brings the box back to the lab. John and Bo go out to get a celebratory beer. David pays Spencer a visit and, after taking a picture of Spencer behind bars, taunts him. Spencer explains that the charges will not stick and he will be out by tomorrow. David doesn’t believe that, he also wants to know about Spencer’s secret agenda concerning the Buchanan’s – explaining that anyone who has ever crossed a Buchanan has had the full retaliation of the whole family. Spencer explains that whatever he’s doing concerns their mother, and if David knew what he knows David wouldn’t be questioning his motives.

Paige shows up and tells Spencer that Bo and John found something that could put him away for a while. Spencer keeps up his front, saying that there is nothing to be found. Spencer also threatens Paige, explaining that she better run when he gets out. Paige stands up to Spencer, telling him that she is no longer afraid of him anymore. David and Paige take off. Nat watches as Clint laments over calling Dorian. Nat approaches Clint and tells him to call her already. Clint admits that he was going to call Dorian to talk about what a screw up he was concerning his kids. Nat is taken aback by the statement, making him realize that he was and continues to be a great father. Clint doesn’t accept that, Nat points out that he’d not God and did the best he could do given the certain circumstances. Clint thanks Nat for her support, instead of calling Dorian he leaves to go find her.

David and Paige show up for a drink and congratulate each other for standing up to Spencer and then have their own celebratory drink. Paige sees Bo come in and goes to sit with him. John enters and finds Nat, he explains about what just happened. Nat hopes that whatever is in the box puts Spencer away for a long time. John gets a call from he forensics tech, he and Nat rush to the station. Bo and Paige are talking about Spencer, Bo reminds Paige that for her to move on she needs to forget about what she had with Spencer. Their conversation is interrupted when Bo gets a phone call regarding the shots fired at the rest stop. Dorian and Adriana are in shock at the sound of the gun, Rex rolls Bruce off of him to show that Bruce was shot in the abdomen. Rex rushes to Adriana and they immediately embrace. Dorian checks to see if Bruce is dead and then calls the paramedics.
