One Life to Live Recap for the Week of August 29 - September 2, 2005

Van admits to Nora that she thinks she still has feelings for John and hates the fact that John and Nat might be in love. Layla reveals that she thinks John has a big, dark secret. Van introduces Layla to Nora. Nora agrees with Layla, Layla thinks Van should press the subject with John. Nora takes off. Nat and John wake up and share a kiss. Nat and John both agree that they like the relationship they have now – don’t move too fast, take things easy. Nat admits that she keeps thinking about Cris, John didn’t mean to bring him up again. Bo has done all he had to locate Jess but turned up nothing, Antonio thinks Tess is with someone. Tess and Nash arrive at his newly acquired vine valley. Tess doesn’t like the condition of the house or vineyard, Nash reminds her that she can leave anytime – but he’s staying. Tess grabs her things and leaves but comes to her senses and goes back to Nash. John and Nat return to work – Nat thinks she’s ready to be back. Van sees them kiss, John runs after her because he needs to talk. Van doesn’t really want to talk to him. Spencer and Paige run into each other. Spencer wants Paige to take the chief of staff job, Paige wants Spencer to accept her happiness and leave her alone. Bo interrupts Paige and Spencer, they kiss – Spencer reveals that Paige was offered the chief of staff position but is turning down the offer, only to spend more time with Bo. Paige sees Nora at the hospital, Paige asks if Nora is ok. Nora just wants to know what’s wrong with her – Nora asks Paige not to tell Bo she saw her. Spencer threatens to reveal Paige’s dark secrets if she doesn’t take the chief of staff job. Antonio presses Ginger for info on Tess, Ginger gives no answers and thinks Jess is better off as Tess. RJ overhears and asks what they mean. Antonio tells RJ not to worry about Jess, RJ brings Jamie in to see Antonio. RJ stops Ginger and wants to know what’s up with Jess. Bo returns to his officer to find Nat there, Nat is convinced that she needs the job and promises to take it easy. Bo wants to hang out with his niece, Nat promises to make time for him and tells him about her and John’s relationship. Van goes back to Layla and tells her that she ran into Nat and John at the station – Layla knows Van still has some feelings for John. Van still has John’s key and wants to throw it out, Layla takes it from her and promises to take care of it – she sneaks into John’s apartment and snoops around. Van tells Antonio to watch his back with Jamie – stop chasing Jess and get his own life back together. Paige visits Bo at the station to say that she will accept the chief of staff offer. Nora is shocked to see Nat back at work, Nat says she’s fine. John is working out to work off frustration but he can’t stop thinking about Cris. John calls the jail where Cris is and wants to meet with him. . .

John calls the warden to ask to see Cris, the warden explains that Cris trashed his cell and was put into solitary confinement. John and another officer begin to spar, John starts to vision that he is fighting with Cris and his father is coaching him. John struggles to shake the images from his head but fails. His father, Tom, knows John is mad at him. John admits that he’s mad at everything – losing his dad, Caitlin, Van. Tom warns John not to lose Nat. Nat goes to see Roxy and asks if she’ll let her in John’s apartment so she can surprise him when he gets home. Roxy takes Nat up to the apartment. Inside John’s apartment, Layla finds the box hidden in John’s closet and begins to go thru it. Layla hears Nat and Roxy outside and hides as they enter the room. Layla slips out unnoticed but Roxy catches her in the hall. Layla makes up a story about how she’s meeting a friend, Roxy gets paged and leaves Layla behind. Layla knocks on John’s apartment door, when Nat answers Layla confronts her about ruining Van’s life. Van warns Antonio that he better step up and be a parent and stop wasting time trying to find Jess – it’s only hurting his case. Antonio says that he can’t just give up on Jess. Rex goes to see Lindsay, Lindsay was on her way to see Jamie. Rex reminds her that Jamie isn’t her daughter, Lindsay says that she isn’t trying to replace Jen and admits it’s nice to have someone to take care of again. Tess is cleaning up the cottage when a man walks into the house, threatening to call the police and report her for trespassing. Tess tries to use her looks to subdue the man and stop him from calling the police. Nash comes in and sees Tess hitting on the man. The man introduces himself as the owner of the vineyard, Gene. Nash assures Gene that he is buying the place and apologizes for arriving early. Gene is happy to meet with the new owners and looks forward to Nash taking over. Gene leaves. Nash turns to Tess. Tess thinks what she did to try to get out of being arrested was a “pretty neat trick.” Nash, disgusted with Tess, knows that she’ll never change her wild ways. . .
