One Life to Live Recap for Tuesday, July 27, 2004

Dorian throws Tico a welcoming party. During the gathering, Blair taunts Kelly by saying how happy she is with Todd, and she flaunts his wish to have another baby. Dorian tells Tico that she didn't invite Paul because she doesn't want to give Tico the wrong impression of the Cramer family. Blair says sarcastically, "Yes, Paul is a thief, and stealing is wrong, isn't it Kelly?" Blair throws snide remarks in Dorian's direction as well. Dorian suggests that Blair leave to check on her kids, and Blair replies, "Yes I should check on them and make sure they're okay because I hear people are stealing babies around here." Kelly jumps up, and the two cousins begin slapping each other.

Jess tells Todd that Kevin is trying to push him out of The Banner-Sun, but she also asks Todd not to do anything back to Kevin that would hurt Viki. Todd says Kevin is the only one who is hazardous to Viki right now. Todd makes phone calls to save his job, and one man assures him that he will regard Todd at the meeting tomorrow. The man knows that Viki is on Todd's side, and he says he'll trust Viki's judgement by considering Todd too.

While arguing with Kevin about Todd, Viki's breathing becomes erratic and she puts her hand to her chest. Kevin says, "See, this is why I want to take the paper from you--so I can protect you." Viki is angry that he is using her heart condition as an excuse to push Todd out. She says that she doesn't want to see him anymore until he stops his revenge. After she leaves, Kevin arranges for the shareholders meeting to happen tonight instead of waiting till tomorrow. He calls the same shareholder that Todd called, and he wants the man to vote against Todd. Kevin tells him that Viki is just having a lapse of judgement right now because of her heart condition, but the shareholder thinks he should call Viki and clear things with her first. Kevin pretty much blackmails the man by saying sarcastically, "Sure sure, I'll put you down as Undecided. You can think about it before the meeting. By then, I should have a decision on whether Buchanan Enterprises is going to renew the $3 million contract that we have with your firm."

John and Evangeline suspect that RJ hired the thugs who beat up John, but they have no proof. RJ finds them chatting together at the station. John tells him that the cops caught one of the guys, and if the man confesses that RJ hired him, RJ will go to Statesville for a long time. Before RJ leaves, John hints that RJ will get payback (legally, of course), but RJ makes the comment that sometimes "innocent people get hurt." John takes this as a threat against Evangeline, and he tells RJ that he better not lay a hand on her.

Jess and Viki plead with Nat to get her proxy back from Kevin, but she takes offense to their request. She feels like they think she's too stupid to make her own decisions, just like they didn't approve of her decision to date Paul. Nat doesn't want to hear what they have to say, and she reminds them that Todd tried to hand her over to Mitch Laurence. Viki tells Todd over the phone that Nat wasn't cooperative, but Joey has agreed to fax his proxy to them. Todd says, "Tell him to forget it. It's too late. I just found out Kevin changed the meeting to tonight."

Dorian breaks Blair and Kelly apart and apologizes to her guests. She pulls Blair aside and asks her to keep the peace just for tonight in order to make a good impression on Tico. However, Blair says she has run out of giving favors right now since she has already kept Kelly's secret. When River shows up to plead his case to Adriana, Tico stands up for his sister and tells River to stay away from her. Blair gets a call from Todd, and she's angry that Kevin scheduled the meeting for tonight. "I think I need to have my own meeting with Kevin. It's time he knew the truth about Ace."

Kelly meets with Evangeline about the custody case. Evangeline tells Kelly to pull herself together, and she wants assurance that Kelly has told her everything she needs to know because if there's anything held back, it can ruin the case. However, Kelly says Evangeline knows the whole story.

At Capricorn, Nat tells Rex that her family is unhappy with her because she gave Kevin her proxies. Nat says she likes Kevin more than she likes Todd, so she let Kevin have what he wants. John walks in, and Nat watches him walk over to Evangeline. Rex tells her that she's better off with Paul. She doesn't understand how John is suddenly ready for a relationship. She says, "You see how he's looking at her? They're definitely sleeping together." Rex replies, "So what if they are? You've got Paul." Nat grimly says, "Yeah, I have Paul."
