Meanwhile, David tries to convince Nat that John will kill him so he wants to be let out of the handcuffs. Nat explains that John is not capable of killing anyone. John returns with the journal and finds passages that mention a “secret place” Margaret likes to go so she can be alone. Nat notices there are mathematical equations in the journal and sets out to solve them. After solving them she realizes they are coordinates on a map. John gets a map of Bangkok and they find out where Margaret’s “secret place” is. Before John goes to find Margaret, he admits that he could’ve killed David but thinking about Nat stopped him. John ventures out into the rain and follows the map to a park outside of town, there he finds Margaret.

Cris takes Van in to see the governor, Van hopes that she can sway the governor on her side but she has no proof of what she claims. After her meeting with the governor, Van tells Cris that he is thinking about it. Todd calls Van and asks about the exhumation, Van tells him that the governor is thinking about. Todd thanks Van for all her work, but knows he’s as good as dead. Margaret tries to run but John stops her and demands that she go back to the hotel with him, Margaret screams to attract the attention of the police. Two officers walk by but John is holding a gun to Margaret’s back, Margaret says they were just having a little argument.

Meanwhile, David is still trying to convince Nat that John will kill him and wants Nat to let him out. Nat won’t let him out, she keeps trying to get in contact with anyone in Llanview but land phone lines and the internet are both down. Todd is taking into the visiting chambers, where he is greeted by Spencer. Todd listens to what Spencer has to say, but then warns him that it’ll be Spencer – not Todd, paying the price for what happened to Margaret. Spencer explains that he’s innocent, feeling Todd is grasping at anything to prolong his execution date. Spencer gets under Todd’s skin by saying that he and Blair are sleeping together, Todd breaks down crying saying that he doesn’t care anymore.

Blair comes home to find Starr looking at a photo album of the family, Starr thinks Blair wants her to forget about Todd but Blair knows they will never be able to forget about him. Starr wants to know why Blair didn’t try to do anything to help Todd, Blair tries to explain that there was nothing she could do but Starr storms upstairs. Blair takes a look at the photos and calls the kids down, she wants to take them to see Todd. Spencer shows up and tells her that it’s a bad idea to go see Todd, Blair doesn’t care what Spencer thinks – she wants her kids to see their father before he’s executed. Blair takes off with the kids, Spencer vows not to loose what he’s worked so hard to get.

Viki and Clint return to Asa’s house, Viki is starting to break down – not knowing how she will burry her grandson one day and then her brother the next day. Clint reassures her that she is strong and will be able to take anything that is thrown at her. Dorian shows up, to Viki’s dismay, to “comfort” Clint. Viki is furious and tries to throw Dorian out, Dorian retaliates with below-the-belt remarks to Viki about her family. Viki brings up what Dorian said at the church, Clint interrupts them and stops them from arguing. Viki strides outside and allows the media to come into the house. There she makes a statement about Todd – hoping that Gov. Brooks will accept her bid to push Todd’s execution date further and she expresses her opinion about the death penalty in general, to which she is opposed.

Viki leaves the house to go be at the vigil outside the prison. Dorian commends Viki on being so strong, Clint starts to think about the time he missed with Duke and not being able to get as close to him as he wanted. Dorian tells him that he’s been a great role model for Duke. Clint thanks Dorian for being there for him. Blair arrives at the prison and takes the kids in to see Todd. Todd tells the guard to escort Blair out because he doesn’t want to talk to her. Blair becomes frantic, claiming that she needs to talk to Todd before tomorrow. The guard will not let her back in. John brings Margaret back to the hotel, Nat continues to try to phone home. John goes over the possible scenarios on how to get Margaret back to Llanview or how to get in contact with anyone in Llanview. John tries his cell phone and gets a signal. He calls the prison to talk to the warden, instead of the warden he gets the guard standing outside the visiting chambers. Blair is in earshot of the conversation as the guard struggles to hear John. John explains that they have to stop Todd from being executed because Margaret is still alive.
