One Life to Live Recap for Monday, February 21, 2005

AMC Update: In conjunction with the baby switch story line, AMC and OLTL have teamed up for a courtroom custody battle. Kevin decides to pull out of the race for custody of baby James, leaving Babe and JR still fighting. Bianca goes on the stand and accepts the plea bargain posed by the DA – which would let David Hayward and Babe off the hook and put Krystal in jail. Bianca then asks the judge to give full custody of James to Babe.

With Blair still in the trunk, she begins to hallucinate. Blair dreams that Addie rescues her from the trunk and enlightens her on how her death would affect the many people of Llanview. Addie shows Blair her funeral, with Todd’s grave next to hers. Blair tells Addie that she can’t die because of her children. Addie lets Blair see her children at an older age, Starr being confused and Jack becoming a juvenile delinquent. Blair begins to see how her death would affect her family and her friends. As Addie disappears, Blair begins to awaken in the trunk and tries to free herself.

Dorian, Bo and Viki take refuge in Hazel’s house after the explosion. Bo doesn’t see how anyone could’ve survived the blast but decides to return to the scene and see if everything is ok. Amidst all the confusion, Viki hurt her ankle and Dorian begins to tend to it as Hazel runs off to make some tea. Dorian expresses her sorrow for the loss of Todd. Viki doesn’t but into Dorian’s “nice” routine and turns away her help.

The whole Buchanan family, less Asa, is sitting in the courtroom. Kevin and Kelly hear Bianca’s testimony and hope that Babe get full custody of James. The judge calls for a recess so she has time to decide on her verdict. Dan shows up and pays a visit to the Chandlers. Adam wants Dan to sway the verdict. Dan says that he will not do anything more for the Chandlers. Adam tells him that he’ll regret it.

Dorian calls David to tell him about the explosion and Todd being dead. David tells her that Todd will never die, he doesn’t know how too. Dorian is scared because Todd might’ve been the only one to know where Blair is. David tells her to calm down, they will find Blair. Bo comes in as Dorian hangs up. Viki asks if he found Todd. Bo hands Viki Todd’s wedding ring, which is the only thing he found in the cabin.

Todd is very much alive but appears to be hurt. He emerges from a snow pile and begins to walk but collapses.

Nat is playing with Jack and Starr as Jess sneaks in to her bedroom. Jack wants his parents back; Starr gets short with him and yells at him. Nat lectures Starr on how important it is to be strong for Jack and be positive.

John is working out; Antonio is there and begins to inquire about Jess. John doesn’t know where she is. Antonio thinks it’s strange the Jess never showed up for their meeting last night. John promises to look into it. Antonio tells him to just forget about it. Van sees Antonio leaves and hones in on John. Van asks John what’s bothering him so much. John tells her that he can handle whatever is bothering him and that he is fine. Van goes to leave but realizes that she left important papers in John’s apartment. John gives her a key and tells her to give it back whenever they see each other. Van, who is disappointed because she thought she was going to get to keep the key, leaves for John’s apartment.

Viki and Dorian return home to Llanfare. Viki asks Starr and Jack to leave the adults alone for a few minutes. Star is adamant about stay and refuses to leave. Nat takes Jack into the other room. Starr asks where her parents are. Viki breaks down and tells her that her father might not be coming home after all. Starr is beside herself with grief as Dorian and Viki try to comfort her.

Meanwhile, in the hallway, Antonio comes in and asks about Jess. Nat doesn’t know where Jess ran off. Antonio saw her car in the driveway and goes up to Jess’ room. Nat grabs her coat and takes off. Antonio finds Jess just waking up from a nap. Jess was dreaming about the night before, when she got all dolled up and went out to have a good time. Jess tells Antonio that she’s not feeling well and he goes to get her some aspirin. While Antonio is away Jess finds another message from her stalker telling her that she and Antonio will never be together again. Jess shows Antonio the letter.

During the courtroom break, Babe approaches Kevin and Kelly and tells them that she wants them in James’ life. JR overhears this and absolutely refuses to let Kevin or Kelly anywhere near Adam Chandler III. Babe reminds JR that he doesn’t have custody of James. JR is sure that he will get custody of the baby. The judge calls everyone back into the courtroom to render her verdict. . .
