Fan Recap for One Life to Live

From Kaydee

Over at the art gallery, an upset Riley is voicing his insecurities about Jen and Rex. Lindsay tells him not to overreact to Rex. He tells her that he’s not overreacting, he’s just confused as to why Jen can’t shake Rex. Lindsay says it’s complicated. Riley tells Lindsay that he never took Rex seriously until New Year’s Eve, when he showed up Capricorn to announce he was leaving town. There was something in his eyes when he looked at her. He looked as if he was in love with her, for real, no con. Lindsay cracks a joke, saying that everyone looks like they’re in love on New Year’s Eve…it’s all that kissing. But Riley’s not in the mood to joke. He jumps up to leave. Lindsay tries to stop him. She says to wait for Jen, she said she would be there. Riley tells her that he’s not going to see Jen.

Jen shows up with food at the art gallery. Lindsay tells her that Riley was just there. She tells Jen they can both guess where he went. Jen is terrified of what will happen when Rex and Riley. Lindsay, in the most mature form of mothering I’ve ever seen Lindsay exercise..she tells Jen that she needs to go to Riley immediately and explain that Rex is NOT a threat. She advises her daughter to do everything she can to hang on to a good thing. Be honest, and be assuring. BRAVO, LINDSAY!!

Never say that Kaydee can’t be fair! She put aside that Superbroom to take care of her child.

Back to the precinct.. Rex’s lawyer and Daniel battle it out over why Rex is still arrested, blah, blah. After quite a bit of haggling, Rex is still in custody and his lawyer asks for some private time with his client. As Rex is being led away to a conference room, Riley comes in and makes a beeline for him, but he’s stopped by Daniel. Daniel informs Riley of Jen’s visit earlier, and warns him that Rex did a number on Jen, and from what he could tell, Jen still has a torch lit for Balsam.

Riley sidesteps his dad’s opinion, and asks him to be straight with him about Rex’s fate. Daniel regrettably informs Riley that it looks like Rex will be released sooner than later. WHAT? What about the evidence-tampering? A felony, but not Murder One. Daniel tells an angry Riley that the department has already had to release four suspects and the frustration is high because the case should have been solved months ago. The next person with evidence against her is going to have her head on a chopping block. Riley is alerted, and questions his use of the pronoun “her”. He’s referring to Jen, isn’t he? Daniel declines to answer, but tells Riley to watch his back. Riley bolts out of the station and heads out in search of Jen. He finds her, staring thoughtfully at something on the gallery wall. His father’s warning echoes in his head as he approaches her. She turns to see him and immediately admits that she was with Rex. She explains herself and apologizes for lying. He asks her why did she lie? Lying about little things makes him wonder if she’s hiding bigger things. She gets defensive, asking if he feels she’s a liar. Riley says no, but he hates her connection with Rex. Lindsay watches from the doorway. Riley tells her that he and Rex have one thing in common…they’ll do anything to protect her. Lindsay turns away as Riley and Jen hug, saying into the air…
“We’ll protect you. Jen. Daniel Colson better stay the HELL away from you!”

(Do I hear that Superbroom revving up so soon?)
