"I've stolen Cristian Vega's life..., I've stolen his wife..." What
else could that mean, Natalie? Natalie tosses the book and screams out that she
doesn't care what the book says. She KNOWS her husband. She knows how he walks,
talks, and breathes. There's no way anyone could fake that. THIS MEANS NOTHING!
NOTHING! It means nothing...John pulls her into his arms to calm her hysteria, and
Evangeline is watching the whole thing from outside the window. Natalie breaks free
from his arms and snatches up her coat and purse. Where are you going? John asks.
Back to my husband, where do you think? Don't, John says, Not until we discover
the truth. I already KNOW the truth! Natalie screams. Fine, John says, then give
me the sample if only to prove me wrong. NO! I already know the truth! She storms
away. He picks up his cell phone to make a call, but Evangeline enters and calls
out his name. He turns to her and asks her how long she's been there. Long enough
to see that Nat was upset. What's going on? I just told her that her husband
may not be who he says he is. Evangeline wants to know if he discovered anything
new. He shows her the entries made in the black book. Evangeline is shocked by
what she reads. She tells John that even though she told him that HE couldn't
be the one to help Nat, this was BIG. If what he says is true, then Cristian will
have died all over again. But on the other hand, she has to know the truth....everyone
does. So, you're in? John asks. Yeah, I'm in.
Flash to Kelly...She desperately tries to reach Kevin for the umpteenth time to
no avail, and Duke enters and makes a reference to some off-screen conversation
that he an d Kelly had. Kelly frantically says that she's tried everything to
stop Kevin from going after the baby, but she's afraid that Kevin will not stop
until he gets him. Adriana urges Duke not to antagonize Kevin any further. Kelly
agrees, apologizing for getting him involved in the first place. She says she just
figured that maybe Duke could work on talking to Asa while she continues to try
and talk some sense into Kevin. Duke almost scoffs at her suggestion. What? Me?
Talk to Asa, about giving up a Buchanan baby, to a CHANDLER?
After a few back and forth words, he agrees to try his best. "Duke!" comes a loud
voice, "you're not going to do anything!" They turn to see Asa. Kelly tries
to convince Asa that the baby is in his rightful place, and she would never have
given him up if she thought otherwise. Asa turns on her, and a much stronger and
wiser Kelly is ready for him. He asks her how she could just turn the baby over
to the Chandlers? She counters that she tried to do just the opposite. How, by sticking
it to your husband? She tells him that she tried to do EVERYTHING she could to hold
on to her husband, including giving him a child by any means necessary, and for
what? So he could turn her away from the baby's life and treat her like trash?
Besides, Asa always made them feel like they'd fail him if they didn't produce
an heir. Asa tells her not to turn the tables on HIM. HE didn't tell her to
go and steal a baby! Duke starts to intervene, but Kelly stops him, assuring her
stepson that Asa has nothing on her. Asa asks her what happened to her? She was
supposed to be the perfect wife, but she turned out to be nothing but a trashy tramp
like all of the Cramer women she comes from. Duke is ticked off now, and Kelly tells
Asa to buzz off in so many words, before propelling Adriana in the direction of
the door and leaving.
Duke is left alone to face off with Grandpa. He tells Asa that he's listened
to him long enough and it's the elder man's turn to be quiet. Duke goes
on to reprimand Asa for the abusive way he's spoken to a woman in Duke's
presence for the second time now. Asa, stubborn old coot that he is, justifies his
actions with the old, "Family protects family" thing.
LOONVIEW TEEN BEAT: WHO'S YOUR DADDY? Pt. 2:
More bickering is going on, people. JR and Adam are staking their claim on the baby,
and now Kevin is on the other end, staking his. He tells the Chandlers that flesh
and blood alone doesn't make a father, (UM, we ALREADY know that that's YOUR belief, Kevin!) and the law is on his side. Either JR
hands over his son, or he goes to jail with the rest of the posse. Weeellll...THAT
doesnt sit too well with the Chandlers, and more hysterical outbursts from
Babe takes place, and more posturing between the men follow. Kevin and Babe exchange
words, but in the end, Kevin gets the child. He allows Babe to say goodbye, then
takes a parting comment from an angry Adam. If you think this is over, think again.
Kevin goes outside, peeks up at the sky, then tells the baby, "Come on, son, let's
go home." (COME ON! Reality check, writers!)
