Cris saw Antonio talking to John earlier and wants to know why he’s friends with John, Antonio explains that he and John watch out for each other. Cris mentions that Tess is missing, Antonio knew nothing about Tess being gone. Blair interrupts them and welcomes Cris home. Claudia feels betrayed again by Nash, but then realizes she is wrong and congratulates Tess on her pregnancy. Nash comes storming in, he and Claudia argue. Jess comes back out and calls Antonio to let him know where she is and that she’ll be home soon. Nash apologizes over and over for what he did, Claudia “accepts” his apology but as soon as Nash leaves she puts a plan in motion to make Nash’s life miserable – citing herself as the one who sent the thugs to beat him up. Todd takes the stand and recounts the night he met Margaret near the lake – sticking with his original story that he had the intent to kill Margaret but couldn’t do it because killing Margaret meant killing an innocent child. Hugh cross-examines and doesn’t do a good job making his case. Van believes that she convinced the jury of reasonable doubt, Todd thinks that the jury will find him guilty. . .

Spencer wakes Blair up from a hangover and makes her a herbal concoction to heal her headache. Blair tells Spencer that she can’t be in love with a baby killer. Spencer remembers when he and Margaret met to discuss their plan for Todd. Spencer reports Todd’s defense, Blair still can’t believe she trusted Todd. Spencer kisses her and promises that it’ll all be over soon. Asa inquires about Clint’s date with Dorian. Clint wants to know what happened to Asa on New Years, thinking Asa is still hiding something. Nash interrupts them, Clint introduces Nash to Asa. Asa doesn’t take too kindly to Nash causing problems for his family. Nash tells Clint about Jess’ visit to Claudia. Clint tells Nash not to give up on Tess, Nash thanks Clint for all he’s doing for him. Clint invites Nash to stay at the mansion after learning about Nash’s financial troubles, Nash accepts. Asa looks for the picture again and then calls a private investigator to find the woman in the picture. Nash tells Asa that Clint gave him a room there, Asa tells Nash to stay out of his way while he’s at the house. Jess is frightened because she has limited control over her body, Viki and Nat are clad that Jess is safe. Viki is surprised that Nat gave away her wedding dress because Viki thinks Nat loves Cris. Nat doesn’t love Cris anymore. Viki hopes Tess thinks she’s not the mother, Jess thinks Tess panicked and destroyed the sample. Jess just wants to be integrated and forget about this nightmare. Clint comes over so Viki can go to Todd’s trial. Clint tells Jess that Nash is staying at Asa’s house for the time being. Cris helps out Carlotta around the Diner. Cris asks Carlotta’s help to win Natalie back, Carlotta points out that love is a gift. Carlotta agrees to fake an illness to get Nat down to the Diner, she calls Nat and Nat promises to help out. Cris closes the Diner, forcing everyone out. Carlotta wishes Cris good luck. Nat shows up and is mad at Cris for getting Carlotta to lie. Cris asks Nat for 15 minutes just to talk. Cris tries to remind Nat of their life before he was in jail, Nat reminds him that he lied to her. Van and Hugh quarrel about who is going to win the case. Todd comes into the courtroom and wants to plead guilty. Van promises to do everything she can not to get him the death penalty, Todd thinks his best chance is Hugh’s deal for life in prison. Hugh gives his final speech in court, hoping the jury will convict Todd. Viki shows up to support her brother. Van accuses Hugh of not producing concrete proof that links Todd directly to the crime. Todd noticed that Blair never made it to the trial. Spencer goes to see Denton, Spencer gives him a wad of money and thanks him for a job well done. . .
