Sheree writes: Isn't it strange that Starr can stand up to her parents and talk them down but she wilts when it comes to Brittany and her Peeps? Huh? This IS the girl who put piranha in Max's bath water and had a truckload of manure dumped in his bedroom? Oh Great One where are you?
Dear Sheree: You think Starr wilts when it comes to those horrible girls? I cant agree at all. I think shes one brave young lady and the only time I saw her come close to wilting was when they first started harassing her and showed those slides at the dance, but after a wonderful pep talk from her Aunt Viki, she went about her business at school and I think shes been holding her own just fine without once sinking to Brittanys level. I dont know how Starr turned out so well after her young days as Oh Great One when she terrorized everyone in her path, but I think shes a smart and classy young lady who, thank goodness, emulates her Aunt Viki a whole lot more than she does her mother or her great Aunt Dorian.
Norma writes: Does anyone find it odd that Spencer Truman killed Thomas McBain in Atlantic City, NJ but he is on trial in Llanview, Pa.? How does that make any sense? Secondly, Hugh Hughes was always talking about his adoptive parents, how wonderful they were, how everyone loved each other and were so good to and with each other, yet they only seemed to be at the hospital once or twice? Why werent they there the entire time? Again, no sense. Thirdly, Natalie. When she first came on the show I adored her. She was a spunky take no prisoners person with an agenda. Now, she has been a shrew, a complete busy body, a martyr, and all around nut case. Digging up a grave in her gown at night? This is normal? Fourthly, do you just love Todd laughing at Spencer in court? That is the highlight for me. I wont even get into the whole Spencer acting crazy, anyone who believes that should have his or her examined, but not by Marty Saybrook.
Dear Norma: I sure hope youre not holding your breath waiting for things to make sense on a soap opera. Things like trying Spencer for murder in a town totally unrelated to where the murder occurred, or Hughs parents hardly ever been seen when their son is near death, are things that we shouldnt even blink an eye at these days. And as far as Natalie goes, I came to the conclusion long ago that theres no middle ground with this character. You either hate her or you accept her for the good but flawed person she is and love her sometimes while wanting to give her a little smack at other times. I will agree with you wholeheartedly on Todd in court. I died laughing when he was pointing and laughing at Spencers insanity act and truthfully, I am never able to muster much in the way of scolding when Todd gets a good one in on Spencer. The man deserves for everyone in Llanview to tie him up and torture him, not just Todd.
Jamie writes: Wow! Did I actually read something nice about Antonio from you; that Antonio did not deserve to be hurt by Jessica?
Dear Jamie: LOL! Yes you heard it from me. Hey, if youve been reading my column for all the years Ive been handing out my drivel, you know that I was a fan of Antonio and Jessica for a long time. Its funny how the writers manipulate our feelings because a while before Nash came along, Jessica and Antonio had talked about getting married and she was never really sure about committing because she felt he was possessive and kind of overpowering. His temper was not the most docile at the time either. When Nash came along, the writers made it easy for a lot of us to say wed had enough of Antonio because in my opinion, he was truly obnoxious for a good part of the time that Jessica went through the DID. He dealt very badly with Nash and it took him a long time to put his feelings aside for Jessicas well being when Nash did exactly that. Now were several months down the line and Antonio has been turned into a great guy who accepts everything about Nash, accepts Jessicas feelings for him and all of her Tess qualities without a word of objection. The writers have made Antonio very likable again, just when hes about to be emotionally crushed and saps like me will feel sorry for him. I also think Jess made a terrible and inconsiderate decision when she married Antonio. She was so unsure and it was terribly unfair of her to marry him. If they left Antonio the obnoxious guy he was when Jess was going through therapy, I wouldnt feel bad for him when he lost Jess, but all of a sudden hes being written as a prince and most of us wont be able to help feeling terrible when he loses.
