SEND YOUR QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS TO JILL!Reflections by Jill - A Weekly Commentary for OLTL for December 24, 2007From Jill Berry REFLECTIONS BY JILL for December 24, 2007Hey, who does Jared think he is? This guy works every scheming bone in his body to get what he wants, which is to make himself a part of the Buchanan family and now that he has it he cant be happy. I thought he had a heck of a lot of nerve to run after Natalie when the DNA results came out and plant that big old kiss on her. Is he crazy? Gee Jared, Im thinking along the lines of cant have your cake and eat it, too. I wonder how far Jared is going to carry on this charade before he has to be more than an uncle to Natalie. I am also sick of hearing him say that he wishes he werent a Buchanan. I guess thats why he had those Jared Buchanan business cards ready to use before the ink was even dry. What a liar!
And speaking of Natalie and the men in her life, I know that for now its just a pipe dream, but seeing her with John again brought back all those old feelings I have about the two of them. Id like to think that it was fate that sent them both out drinking alone to Capricorn and brought them together as two lonely, sad souls. I know, very sappy, but I really thought I was going to be furious at Natalie for falling into bed with John but I felt just the opposite emotion. No matter what these two have been through and whomever else they have been with, I still think they belong together. There is a comfort zone between John and Natalie that doesnt exist for them with anyone else. Nobody knows him like she does and nobody knows her like he does. I guess they realized that they needed the comfort that the other could give that night, but I wish they could somehow get back to a place where they could give a relationship another try. Oh well, I guess Ill have to settle for friendship for now. But hey, when was the last time John was in bed with a woman with his shirt off? Were making progress. Im glad they have no regrets and I thought it was nice when Natalie remarked that John remembered how she likes her coffee and he said, Theres not a lot I forgot. So it looks like everyone is off the hook for shooting Miles. I couldnt be happier that Ramsey got suspended when John let the FBI know that he shot out the tires of the van causing Martys death. He reminds me a lot of Spencer; his attitude towards human beings sucks. Finally Miles was able to do something good for Cole even though it was small comfort after losing his mother. It was hard for Cole to let John protect him because hes such an honorable young man and he felt it would dishonor his mother if he let John take the blame. I was glad that John convinced him to go along with his story. It was good that Cole talked with Miles and they apologized to each other. Miles can never make up for what he did to Marty and Cole, but this was something he could give him and it helped. It will sure make Starr feel better because she was terrified that Cole would go to jail. She has certainly had enough to handle and I was sorry to see her take out her frustration on Langston. Getting back to Miles for a minute, are you feeling a relationship between Roxy and Miles? Roxy is really gone over him and I died laughing when she went to his hospital room and decided to pour her heart out to him, telling him that shes madly, head over heels in love with him and the poor guy slept through the whole thing. Poor Roxy, or should I say poor Miles? I am glad that Nora was the one that Marty designated to be Coles guardian. I know hed be fine with John, but with Nora hell have a nice home and a family and a great little brother. Eventually, hell feel like he belongs somewhere. John, as promised, will always be his friend and always be there for him, but Im glad Cole will have a family. Was it the smartest thing for Rex and Adriana to run their Christmas gift plans by Dorian? Dorian was totally obnoxious when she kept insisting on buying a ridiculously expensive watch for Adriana to give Rex but she was even more obnoxious when Rex asked for her blessing to marry Adriana and she told him that the groom is supposed to spend three months salary on an engagement ring. Who thinks about those ridiculous things? I had to laugh when Dorian was lecturing Rex and told him, Youve already had one failed marriage and Rex replied, And youve had how many? Honestly, Rex doesnt have to say very much. His face delivers comedy better than a one-liner. And I nearly fell off the couch in hysterics when Dorian tried to lecture Rex about sex and cheating. OMG DORIAN, YOU WROTE THE BOOK! So now Rex is in Paris, Texas and we find out that he and Gigi were a couple in high school. Well, it looks like I was wrong again. BIG SURPRISE! I told you not to listen to me when I predicted that Jared was Shanes daddy. It looks like Rex did the deed and left Michigan to come to Llanview, leaving Gigi with a big secret and no boyfriend to share it with. If Rex is the daddy, this opens up a lot of cans of worms back home in Llanview. And of course Rex was a different man back then. When he came to Llanview, he was after one thing and that was the Buchanan bucks he figured his sister would be getting. I guess TPTB are trying to move Evangeline further and further out of Cristians life so he can move on. Cristian needs to get on with his life and Sarah is just the ticket for him. I really like the guts and honesty that Sarah shows. I liked the scene where she gave Cristian the compass for Christmas and told him that her father told her that all you ever need in life to find your way is a compass and then said, Merry Christmas Cristian, I hope you find your way.
