REFLECTIONS BY JILL for December 4, 2006

From

On to Dorian. Wow, everything she’s done where Adriana is concerned is sure coming back to haunt her. I remember very well when Aunt Betsy left Adriana that $30 million and Dorian just sucked it up into her account. I remember thinking that it was way too easy for her to do that at the time and now we find out that the money is in an irrevocable trust that can’t be touched for ten years. I’ll bet Dorian would have paid anything to avoid having Adriana find out what she did with her money. And she always finds herself having to explain to Clint why she is in hot water. Somehow, I think the only thing Clint wouldn’t forgive her for is murder.

Things were really heated between Starr and her parents this week. I have to give Starr credit. Nothing she said, as hurtful as it may have sounded, was off the mark. When Blair told her that she was probably defending Cole because she liked him and wasn’t seeing things the way they really are, Starr was right on target when she said, “Are you talking about me and Cole or you and dad?” And Todd couldn’t say a word when Starr asked him, “Do you think you’re the only one who can make mistakes and get away with them?” Yes, Starr, that’s exactly how your daddy feels.

I felt sorry for Rex having to make a decision on whether or not to tell Todd the truth about Tommy being his son. Todd sure did treat Rex like dirt when he fired him for not producing his son when he was paying him so much money. I thought Todd’s reasoning was ridiculous when he said that he had screwed up with Jack and Starr and now he had a chance to start over with his new son. Todd’s ego is so huge it blocks my entire screen. After Todd’s outbursts, I didn’t blame Rex at all for sticking to his guns and not telling Todd who his son was. Now Rex wants Adriana to stand behind him in his decision to keep the secret from everyone. Will she do it?

Do you ever get the feeling that putting people on the witness stand who have shady pasts might not be such a good idea? Hmmm, first we had David on the stand that had to face hearing about all of his dirty deeds from the past and then we had Blair up there being grilled under cross-examination for her nasty past. It’s hard for a jury to overlook the kind of things that Blair and David have been involved in. But I did love it at the end of Blair’s testimony when she got to testify that Spencer tried to choke her to death. It’s a good thing the truth didn’t come out about her drugging him, which was what led to him attacking him in the first place.

And pardon my while I choke on that ridiculous show Spencer put on in court. Oh yeah, insanity MY FOOT! His lawyer should be disbarred for that unbelievable display. I think everyone in Llanview is more insane that he is for not bumping him off a long time ago. Are we supposed to believe that Marty Saybrook just waltzes into court to testify to Spencer’s insanity? Did Spencer know Marty and plan this whole thing? Haven’t we all learned not to put anything demonic past him? I find the whole thing so ludicrous and it annoys me that Marty has even agreed to testify.

I loved it when Todd found Viki in his office at his computer and she showed him how she had scooped him by getting the story about John being alive in The Banner before Todd had the story. And if you’re sick of me mentioning Ben, just skip over this sentence because I really loved it when Viki told Todd that he really should get a different password for his computer and he said, “It’s better than yours, fuzzy dice.” Interesting that Viki has that password and that the writers tossed it in there. I guess I’m not the only one who lovingly remembers Ben. Anyway, once again, Viki is the voice of reason for Todd when he tells her that Cole tried to rape Starr like he did Marty and Viki listens and tells him that he’s not mad at Marty, he’s mad at himself. Look in the mirror Todd. You have a lot to be mad at yourself for.
