REFLECTIONS BY JILL for December 3, 2007

From Jill Berry, About.com Guest

And elsewhere it was a night of taking chances for Cristian and Sarah. They finally gave into their feelings for each other and shared a little kissing session, but that didn’t last long when Layla came home and Cristian showed his concern about her visit with Evangeline. Again, I give credit to Sarah for taking care of herself and protecting her heart. She made it clear to Cristian that he wasn’t over Evangeline and that it wouldn’t work between them as long as that was the case. Even though Cristian said he would always love Evangeline and wanted to continue with Sarah, she felt that she uncovered Cristian’s true feelings when she asked him, “If Evangeline woke up tomorrow, what would you do?” Personally, I don’t remember Cristian pining over Evangeline after they broke up. They remained good friends and I never thought it would again be more than that, but Sarah is wise to worry about it. Sarah would be Cristian’s third Buchanan woman. Maybe the third time will be the charm for him.

John somehow miraculously figured out that there was a computer chip hidden at the back of that poetry book that Patrick gave Marty and that gave him the leverage he and Ramsey needed to deal for Marty and Cole’s lives. Patrick died leaving behind a list of names that the Irish terrorists want and they are willing to kill for, thinking Marty knows where it is. Too bad it is Patrick’s best friend Simon who turned on everyone and actually was the one who killed Patrick. John and Ramsey find the location where Marty and Cole are being held and Ramsey continues to be his usual nasty, vindictive self. He never stops throwing Kaitlyn in John’s face and this time was no different when John figured a way to get to Marty and Cole and Ramsey said, “The last time we did things your way, Kaitlyn wound up dead.” This guy never gives up. Yes, he’s devastated that Kaitlyn died because he was in love with her just as John was, but does he think that John doesn’t grieve over what happened to her? He should know that John’s life has been emotionally destroyed since Kaitlyn’s death and that several women have been hurt in the bargain because of John’s inability to get over what happened to her and his part in it. Ramsey just couldn’t keep his head on straight and went ahead to shoot at the van holding Marty and Cole. Now they’ve gone over an embankment and Cole will be okay but Marty will be presumed dead. Adios to Marty for now. Maybe John will finally be a dad and Cole will have a home. Do you think in a kind of sick way Ramsey will take pleasure in the fact that he had a part in taking Marty away from John like he feels John took Kaitlyn from him?

And true to form in his own, distinctive, disgusting way, Todd did not disappoint me when he showed up at Michael’s apartment and held him at knifepoint to try to get him to reveal where Marcie is. Is he kidding? Michael is just a broken man at this point. He has lost his wife, his child, his job and may go to jail for perjury and he didn’t even care that Todd saw him at his worst. He has nothing left in Llanview and if he knew where Marcie was he’d be gone with her. So what did Todd do? He sat there and laughed at Michael, telling him how much he was enjoying watching him in misery. I don’t know what else I can say about Todd. He is the lowest form of human life because he is without compassion and to me that makes him the worst kind of human being. And he’s a sadist, which is really sick. It was ridiculous that Todd told Michael that nobody would believe the story if Michael told anyone about their little encounter. I beg to differ. I think Michael should call Bo immediately and report that Todd assaulted him. Bo wouldn’t hesitate to lock Todd up and I’d be sitting on my couch applauding.

Leave it to Todd to wring some sympathy out of Viki when he called her to ask if The Banner could print something about Cole being missing. Of course Viki had no idea what was going on with Tommy and has no clue about how Todd tried to get him back so of course she thinks it’s totally awful that Marcie skipped town with his son. However, the perpetually level-headed Viki did remind Todd (as have many others) that Michael and Marcie have been wonderful parents to Tommy. Maybe Todd should think about the fact that he’s heard that many times before and not go after Michael and Marcie like a crazed maniac. No such luck!

See ya next week.

FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Nanny writes: “I think the show will lose a lot of viewers when Michael is no longer played by Nathaniel Marston. I already know at least ten people at the office will no longer watch. He and Marcie are great together; so real. The baby even looks like Michael more so than like Todd. That poor baby shouldn’t be brought into a relationship with Todd and Blair.”
