REFLECTIONS BY JILL for November 27, 2006

From Jill Berry, About.com Guest

At least Natalie and Vincent got Bo to believe them when they explained how they knew John was alive. Poor Bo; he would probably give his right arm before he’d want to hurt Paige by telling her that her son is dead. Bo didn’t have a clue what to say to Paige when she told him that Vincent was a great guy and that he’s been visiting Hugh a lot and will be a good support for Natalie. I wouldn’t go so far as to say Vincent is a great guy. I don’t even think he’s a reasonably good guy, not from what I’ve seen so far.

And wasn’t Viki the picture of calmness when Natalie told her that John was alive? Is there anything Viki can’t handle? Did anyone notice the little (not so little) mistake the writers made in that scene between Viki and Natalie? Viki was talking about Spencer finding out about Hugh being the one who died in the accident and she said, “I can’t imagine what he’d do if he found out that the son that was kept from him his whole life and that he’s been looking for is dead.” Excuse me writers, but Spencer was not looking for Hugh. He never knew he had a son before Paige told him when Hugh was going to prosecute his case. Paige was looking for Hugh; Spencer was not.

Obviously, very shortly it is going to come out that Todd is Tommy’s father. I can’t really blame Rex for not telling Michael and Marcie right away whom Tommy’s father is because he knows how hurt they’ll be when they find out. And of course Rex is right; Todd is not going to just tell Michael and Marcie what good parents they are to his son and let them keep him. It will be interesting to see just how awful Todd will be to Michael and Marcie, or if he will find it in his heart to be kind and compassionate.

And getting back to Spencer, I was getting sicker by the minute watching him smirking his way through court the other day. And how hysterical was David, sitting in the courtroom waiting to be called to testify, chomping away on a box of popcorn. And to top it off, I died laughing when he took the stand and the bailiff told him to raise his right hand and he raised the left. It was pretty bad having to listen to all of David’s past crimes. It was funny to think of how bad he used to be and how much he has changed. I didn’t quite understand why Evangeline was so happy that Spencer’s lawyer didn’t find all of the dirt he could have on David and didn’t seem to think he did too much damage to David’s testimony. I think it was pretty bad that the jury had to hear all that stuff that David did in the past. I might have a hard time believe he was telling the truth if I were a juror, especially when Spencer’s lawyer suggested that David could be lying on the stand to get back at Spencer for not changing his will to make David the beneficiary.

And what about Blair’s swooning bit on the witness stand. I had no idea something was going to happen to her and at first I thought, oh no, is she pregnant? I was surprised to find out she thinks her brain tumor is back. And what a sweetheart Spencer’s lawyer is, saying that he wouldn’t mind if Blair dropped dead because it would help their case. I guess he got a taste of how violent Spencer can be when Spencer nearly broke his finger as a threat if he ever said a bad word against the woman he loves. I could never figure out why Spencer was so in love with Blair, to the point where even when she betrayed him, he was still so wild for her.
