Now, getting back to the Rex and Gigi situation; Stacy and Kim are still scheming and trying to throw Schuyler and Gigi together. Kim buys two tickets to a concert that she knows Gigi would love to see and offers the tickets to Schuyler so they can go together. Schuyler refuses to play along even though he wants Gigi. Back at home, Gigi and Rex are trying to work out their issues and she has gotten him to agree to go to couples counseling with Marty. They agree to go to their first session that night and Gigi is all fired up about it. Rex agreed even though he didn’t really like the idea because he loves Gigi so much and wants to do anything to make their relationship work. However, the monkey wrench gets thrown into the mix when Natalie shows up at Gigi’s place and frantically gets Rex to agree to go in search of Jared that very night. Rex can’t let Natalie down and calls Gigi to cancel their plans for therapy. Gigi is really angry because he can’t tell her what he’s doing (she works for John and might divulge some information) and she feels that Rex isn’t putting their relationship first.

Of course Gigi spots the concert tickets on the bar at Rodi’s and Schuyler tells her to go with Rex, which of course can’t happen since he abandoned her for work. So Schuyler tells her she will go with him to take her mind off her problems. Score another one for Stacy and Kim. UGH!

Oh, and let’s not forget that Kim is running out of money and needs a rich man to support her so she wonders if there are any rich families in town. Stacy puts her on the scent of the Buchanans and she sets her sights on Clint right away. OMG, I would love to see her go after Clint. But even though she doesn’t care that he’s married, she moves on to a photo of Kevin, but she is disappointed to hear that he lives in London. Uh-oh, guess who she sets her sights on next. BO! Actually, she should go for David, but he doesn’t have the Buchanan bucks, at least not yet.

Stay tuned for big doings next week when Dorian’s wedding comes around and so does Election Day. Will Viki have the last laugh? Gee, I sure hope so!

See ya next week.

FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Catherine writes: “I have to agree with most of your recent commentary on the show. Todd's outrage over Tea's 'betrayal' was pure farce, coming from him. Blair has become (or is it gone back to being) a two-dimensional villain with no moral compass and no self control over her own ugly impulses. I have to give a lot of credit to the young actor playing Jack (the Todd clone). He's doing an incredible job because he's a complete demon-seed and I'm horrified by every word that comes out of his mouth. There's so little to recommend in the show anymore, but I do love the Brody character and Starr Manning.”

Dear Catherine: As you can probably see from the above article, my assessment of Blair’s evil behavior and yours are completely in synch. I read your email shortly after I wrote that section and I guess it is obvious that I am not alone in thinking that Blair’s behavior is over the top and really disgusting. As for Jack, yes, this young actor is doing a fine job, which is why he constantly makes me want to put him in a time out for life, LOL. It’s like Jack lives in his father’s skin. Yep, a demon seed. I, too, am becoming kind of crazy about Brody. I love a good, loving hero and he has all the makings of a fine one. Who knew that when Adriana dragged him to Llanview to hurt Gigi, he’d turn out the way he has? I never have anything but good things to say about Kristen Alderson. She has grown Starr up over the years and every year her acting gets better and better.

Ann writes: “Please stop all the gay stuff on my favorite soap. If it continues, the Tivo will be changed to exclude this soap from now on.”

Dear Ann: I understand that you are upset about this storyline and I defend your right to feel the way you do. Just as many people think this is a topic that needs to be faced head on; many also don’t want to deal with it at all. Personally, I find that all soaps today address a wide variety of contemporary issues and OLTL is far from the first to address gay rights in America. I don’t necessarily think the current storyline is the best way to do this subject justice, but I don’t have a problem with addressing the issues. Honestly, I found it a lot harder to watch the shows when all the history about Jessica’s DID came out; when we had to watch her as a little girl being taken to bars by Nikki Smith and abused by that pedophile. Then we had to witness her pain as she dealt with it as an adult raising her own child. That was the most painful storyline I’ve seen. At least there is some humor infused in the current gay storyline to go along with the points being made.
