FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS
Jamie writes: You had a person ask what if Todd had kept a paternity secret like Rex & Michael did, what would happen to Todd? I can answer that; nothing happened to him. If you remember, Todd knew that Ace was not Kevins child and he knew that Kevins real son had died. He did not tell Kevin the truth and he helped Kelly keep the secret. Is that not just as cruel as to what was done to Todd?
Dear Jamie: WOW!!! I give you a great deal of credit. I did not even think about how Todd was involved in that whole Ace mess. You get mega points for reminding me of that debacle. I couldnt agree with you more about Todd thinking he can get away with doing horrible things to people but not being able to believe he should suffer the same fate when it happens to him. What I do remember better than anything is that Todd was the original instigator of everything that has happened to him in the past few years at Margarets hands. It was his hatred of Kevin Buchanan that made him come up with the ridiculous idea of seducing Margaret in the first place to get information out of her to hurt Kevin and Buchanan Enterprises. Everything that has happened since then has been fallout from yet another one of Todds disgusting, selfish schemes. I thank you for your insight and great memory.
MLHossfeld writes: I'm glad that Christina Chambers has been let go. I've not liked her from day one on the show and I really don't like her character's pairing with John. Being a big John and Natalie fan, I'm still hoping for a reunion there. I think the character of Marty is pathetic and she is the most dysfunctional psychiatrist. How she could possibly council anyone or give advice is beyond me when she is such a mess. I know you like Cole and I agree he is good for Starr, but he grates on my nerves whenever he opens his mouth so if Brandon Buddy is shown the door, I won't care.
Dear MLHossfeld: As I have said many times, I was never a fan of Marty from the beginning and especially not a fan of Marty and John because like you, I still hold out hope that one day John and Natalie will be reunited. However, Marty did grow on me a little. I felt the same way about Cole in the beginning. Brandon Buddy is a young actor who does need a lot more experience, but he has grown on me as well. I would like to see him stay because I like his relationship with Starr. They are a young couple that is responsible and caring toward each other and I find that more than refreshing. I do agree that if I were in need of a psychiatrist, I would definitely cross Marty off my list of possibilities. I hear that Marty will be with us until December and I am curious to see what her fate in Llanview is, along with Cole.
Catherine writes: I've never liked Natalie as much as you have, for the very reasons you are not liking her character as much these days. Such immaturity and trashy behavior. C'mon, the girl doesn't have to behave that way with everything she has going for her. For some reason (probably a sad and sinister one) I rather enjoy watching Todd's maniacal behavior. He's so off the charts. Since he is a fantasy character, I enjoy him, although even I get sick of some of it. Let me just say that I have watched OLTL for years and years. I adore when they do comedy. That is my favorite thing. And I love the really sweet new relationships, like when Jessica got together with Christian so very long ago. Weren't they too sweet? What really gets me going, and I do mean really, is when Tuc Watkins is on screen. That guy is so gorgeous and so hilarious and can seriously act! I drool at the sight of him. Wish they had more like him!
Dear Catherine: There are lots of mixed opinions about Todd. I will say that Trevor is a wonderful actor because like Paul Satterfield did with Spencer, any actor who can make the viewers hate their character is very, very talented. Its true that I cant stand Todd. The only time Ive ever had a glimmer of a good feeling for him was when he shared a rare moment of vulnerability with his sister, Viki, which doesnt happen very often. It does not surprise or offend me that you enjoy Todds maniacal behavior. You are probably a more realistic soap viewer than I am because I just cant tolerate the bad guys in general. Even though its just a soap opera, I hate when the bad guys hurt the good guys. I have a friend who I can always count on to adore every bad guy that I hate and we always have a laugh about it (Hi Christina!) I also acknowledge that without the horrible bad guys, there would be no show, so I tolerate them, but like you, I love the comedy and the sweetness of some of the relationships that we used to see. I loved the young Jessica and Cristian and I like that they have grown up to have a good friendship as adults. And when it comes to Tuc Watkins, you will get no argument from this girl; he is delicious to watch and we definitely need more like him. I was not a fan of Desperate Housewives after the first season, but I have started watching again this year since Tuc will be a new resident on Wisteria Lane. By the time you read this we should have already seen him since his first appearance is on October 20th, so well talk about him next week. For now, he will be back for a little while on OLTL in November, so I look forward to that.
