FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Sheree writes: “You say Michael, Rex and Company shouldn't be punished for keeping the truth from Todd because he's a BAD parent? What if it had been the other way around? What if Todd had kept secret the identity of someone's child? Everyone would be screaming for Todd’s arrest. Michael, Rex, Adriana should be punished!” Dear Sheree: I don’t think I said that Michael, Rex, Adriana, etc. should not be punished. I believe I have said many times that they could all be looking at a lot of trouble down the line when the truth came out. But do I think they should be punished? No, I don’t and the reason is that in the fictional world of soap operas, I can certainly live with the fact that knowing Todd for what he really is, all those people kept the secret. Whether you agree or not, I think Todd is a very poor excuse for a parent and Michael and Marcie went into this adoption honestly, giving that child the home every child deserves. By the same token, I think it’s a terrible tragedy that Todd gets custody when he hasn’t given an ounce of proof that he deserves it. In the real world, after Todd committed all the crimes the judge has heard about, such as trying to kill Tommy’s mother and giving his own son away because he questioned his paternity, do you really think a judge would give a lunatic like Todd custody of an innocent 2-year old? With Todd’s criminal record, I think not! And to answer your question about things being turned around if Todd had kept the secret, all I can say is that if that were the case, you can rest assured that his reasons for keeping the secret would be mean and heartless and not in the best interest of the child. After all that Todd has done to so many people in Llanview, I can’t muster up an ounce of sympathy for him. Sorry!

Sandy writes: “What does La Boulaie mean?”

Dear Sandy: LaBoulaie is the pretentious name that Dorian gave to her house a couple of years ago. I guess she was feeling kind of uppity that day, or more uppity than usual. Of course we all know that Dorian has a great love of anything French; she even goes so far as to say that Viki is in “her city” when she hears that Viki is in Paris. So, it makes perfect sense to Dorian to give her house a snooty French name. And hey, Viki has a mansion with a name (Llanfair), so it stands to reason that Dorian must have one, too.

Jacquelyn writes: “I agree totally regarding Natalie and her boobs. If she arches her back any further she'll be doing a back bend. She lets her boobs do the talking when it should be her. I love Jared, his looks, his manner, everything about him. I hope he has one terrific part to play in the whole storyline. I love Christian and Sarah also. Christian deserves a soul mate and Sarah could be it, She's just a little bit naughty but very pretty and very nice. Adriana is something else. The whole plot could do without her. I love Clint and would like to see him in a stable relationship or marriage.”

Dear Jacquelyn: The writers definitely need to take the focus off of Natalie’s chest and give her something to do that will involve her in a storyline that will enhance her other good qualities. I hope she gets to do something at Buchanan Enterprises that earns her some respect and gives her a firm position there and something meaningful in her life. I kind of like Jared, too. I think there’s a lot more about him that we’re going to learn, but he reminds me a lot of Nash when we first encountered him, so I am anxious to see where he winds up in Llanview. I am up in the air about Cristian and Sarah. I like Sarah and I think Cris definitely deserves some love in his life. I think it remains to be seen if Sarah is the one for him. I have never had a great love for Adriana. Maybe she’s paired with the wrong person or maybe she’s just not that interesting. I can’t agree with you about Clint. I lost almost all my respect for him when he paired up with Dorian but I do respect his love and devotion to his children. Now that I hear he might be paired with Nora, it remains to be seen if he can get some of his self-respect back.
