FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Lucy writes: “When all is said and done with Spencer and John finds peace, the storylines will be boring. Paige and Bo are too dull for words. Rex and Adriana are the ones who should ride into the sunset together and let's not talk about Layla and Vince. These two should not even be part of the soap. I find their characters useless to the show. I feel there will be a triangle in the future with Vince, Layla, and Evangeline. If so, someone should just kill Layla. She's the worst of all. I know that sounds harsh but the storylines are being dragged too long and the storylines are not too good any more since Todd's execution.”

Dear Lucy: One thing we can always count on is storylines being dragged out on soaps. It’s a fact of life on daytime television. And regarding John, I wouldn’t mind seeing his life be a bit boring and normal for at least an hour or two. After what he’s going through now, boring is something I look forward to. I have never been one of those people who believe that everyone on soaps has to be in turmoil for it to be interesting. I believe that couples can be happy and interesting. Hey, what a concept! I would love to see a few couples happy for a little longer than five minutes at a time. And whoa! Those are very harsh comments about Layla. Personally, I couldn’t stand the character when she first came on the show, but I think the problem with her now is that she’s involved with a creep and we have to see her as naïve and blind for falling for Vincent. I think with a better storyline, Layla would probably be worth watching. We’ve seen that she has a heart and is not totally selfish like she was when she first popped into Llanview, so I’m willing to give her a chance to wise up and find a good guy. And all I can say about a Layla/Vincent/Evangeline triangle is EWWWW!

Lori writes: “I still think Rex will turn out to be Paige and Spencer's son. Roxy has mentioned more than once lately that Rex is her blood. Somehow I think Spencer came upon the information that he and Paige had a son and fixed it that it was Hugh to fit it to his own agenda so he could make bail and walk away from any jail time. We already know he had a least one judge in his pocket.”

Dear Lori: Sorry, can’t agree on this one. I don’t think Spencer had a clue about having a son, let alone who that son was. His ego would never have let the kid grow up with someone else. His ego would be so inflated over the fact that he had a son to mold in his image that he’d track the kid down to the ends of the earth. And as far as the judge being in Spencer’s pocket, all it took was John threatening to hurt the judge’s chances at election time and the judge caved in and gave John the warrant to search Spencer’s hotel suite. Asa is much better at keeping judges in line.

Martha writes: “Clint is an idiot and not good enough Viki. I hope Dorian gets it good and doesn't get away, once again, with almost "murder.”

Dear Martha: Clint is pretty much an idiot these days and no way does Viki need to give a second glance to anyone who would be taken in by the likes of Dorian Lord. And Dorian might not go to jail for anything, once again, but I think Adriana is going to make her life so miserable she might wish she were anywhere else but in her daughter’s way.

Candy writes: “Oh, NO! Just read your latest column! Don't tell me you're joining the ranks of those who despise Antonio! I know he can be overbearing, but doesn't the fact that Nash has never ONCE said he loves Jessica occurred to anybody? I do feel for Nash but Jessica and Antonio went through their own hell...and deserve a shot at their own happiness.”

Dear Candy: I don’t despise Antonio. I just want to sock him in the head a lot of the time these days. He has never been able to grasp the truth about Jessica’s situation and the fact that Tess is a part of her and there are things about Tess that just don’t fit into his image of his sweet, little Jessica. I never liked Antonio’s attitude towards Nash, even though I think he has a right to be upset. He doesn’t have any tolerance for the side of Jessica that is Tess or the fact that Nash is Bree’s father. And why would Nash ever say, “I love you” to Jessica? To Nash, Jessica and Tess are two different people and Tess is who he wants, at least for now. Nash is very likely going to fall in love with the new Jessica. And I do have to admit that I’m a big Nash fan. I think the chemistry between Nash and Jess/Tess is explosive and I love them together.
