REFLECTIONS BY JILL for October 2, 2006

From Jill Berry, for About.com

I did think that Nash would be happy to see so much of Tess in Jessica, but I understood his feelings when he told Claudia that even though he sees so much of Tess now, she is still Jessica and she is with Antonio and it sucks. I agree, it does suck. Obviously, it’s torture for Nash to see so much of Tess and not be able to have her. But did he have to sleep with Claudia? Hey, Claudia doesn’t care. She’ll delude herself into thinking that he wants her, even if he does have to get drunk to do it. Is she kidding? Did she think that just because she looked him in the eye and made him admit he knew she was not Tess that he really wanted to be with her?

And that certainly was a “Tess moment” when Jessica was coming out of John’s apartment and saw Claudia leaving Nash’s place. It was as if Tess were standing there when she said, “You slept with her?” Oops! And then the scene that followed in Nash’s room was a riot. I died laughing when Jessica popped Claudia in the mouth. Of course Claudia can never keep her big mouth shut. She always has to say something inappropriate like implying that Natalie was in the hotel for some seedy reason. Jessica would never have hit Claudia, but Tess, oh yeah, no problem!

And what is Nash doing getting involved with Vincent Jones? He must need investors pretty badly if he’s willing to deal with a thug like Vincent. I thought Claudia was a bad choice of business partners; Vincent is a whole other category of trouble.

Oh, let’s back up to Antonio again for a minute. I wish I could say that Bo was suffering from grief and that’s why he’s not thinking straight, but why on God’s green earth did he give Antonio the Head Detective position when John’s body isn’t even cold yet? Never mind that they just got the news about John about five minutes ago. Is Bo crazy? Antonio abandoned the police department 2 years ago and he just got his badge back. Even Antonio questioned whether or not he was ready for that job. I had to laugh in disbelief when Bo told him he wouldn’t offer it to him if he thought he couldn’t handle it. But the most idiotic thing was when Bo asked Antonio to promise that he wouldn’t lose his cool on the job. Not too smart Bo. If you need to make your head detective promise to keep his cool, maybe you’ve picked the wrong guy!

And we can’t let a week go by without some action from Todd Manning’s world. I thought Parent/Teacher night at Starr’s school just might have been the wrong time for Todd to physically attack another parent. Well, if you’re Todd it was a perfect time. Obviously, that obnoxious, drunken man was just too stupid and offensive for Todd to ignore, especially when he gave up on praising Todd and started to bash Blair. Poor Starr; she can’t catch a break where her parents are concerned, but it sure was a sign of how strongly Todd feels about Blair. And people can argue that he’s no longer in love with Blair, but I don’t know what more evidence anyone needs. To defend her that way he has to have more than old feelings for her and it’s not just that she’s his child’s mother either. It’s too bad that Starr is going to suffer now because her father chose to attack the father of a girl who is a major bully.

And the truest line of the week came from, of all people, Dorian when David was trying to convince her to leave town with him and she said she couldn’t leave but that Llanview would miss him. Oh boy, we will all miss David more than we could ever say! That casting director had the right idea. He’d make it big in Hollywood!

See ya next week.
