REFLECTIONS BY JILL for September 24, 2007

From Jill Berry, for About.com

Will certainly didn’t pull any punches when he went to see Nora, did he? I hoped that after he blew off some steam and accused Nora of going after Lindsay for personal reasons he would see things clearly and understand that Nora was just doing her job and that there was a lot of evidence against Lindsay. However, once Will got together with RJ, they did everything they could to convince Nora to go easy on Lindsay. Of course those “Free Lindsay” tee shirts were a great show of support, but they sure were way too silly for me. Nora always loved Will and Jen and treated them like her own even though they were Sam and Lindsay’s kids and Will remembers that and loves Nora, too, even if she is doing her job and it happens to be against his mother.

I have to say that one of the relationships I like best on the show is between Roxy and Rex. He accepts her and loves her for what she is and she loves him as well as she can, having remorse for not raising him and for giving him over to his aunt when he was a child. She really means it when she tells him, “Next to starting the Hair Haven, you’re the best thing I ever did.” Now, knowing her the way he does, Rex lovingly took that as a major compliment and coming from Roxy, that’s exactly what it was meant to be.

And now we know that Viki is toddling around Europe since Natalie has gotten e-mail from her. I can’t wait for her to get back. Her upcoming storyline should be a doozy.

See ya next week.

FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Norma writes: “Just when I think the writers are going to do something right, they go ahead and disappoint me. Why can't little Tommy stay where he is? When Margaret was alive Todd hated her and the baby she was caring. Now all of a sudden he wants his son. Marcie and Michael have done nothing but love him as their own. Todd needs to learn he can't control everything in his life. I know he does love his kids but he surely is not father of the year. I have watched One life to Live for as long as it has been on the air but this really upsets me that Todd again gets his own way. Why doesn't he just grow up and be a man? A little compassion wouldn't hurt.”

Dear Norma: Obviously there has to be a decision in court as to who gets to keep Tommy because even though Todd is the lowest of human beings most of the time, he does have rights as the biological father. Do I think he deserves to screw up another child? NO! Todd’s kids turned out okay and it had nothing to do with him as far as I’m concerned. They grew up decently in spite of him. As far as compassion goes, Todd doesn’t have any for anyone but himself, even when innocent, decent people are involved. In a perfect world, all of the horrible things Todd has done in his life would probably prevent him from taking custody of that little boy, but in the fantasy world of soaps, drama rules so I am expecting a lot of heartbreak for Michael and Marcie. Unfortunate but probably true.

Jamie writes: “I totally agree about all the insanity going on in Llanview these days. And even though we disagree about Nash & Jessica, I did applaud the fact that he told Jessica the truth about the poker game and I also wish he had told her about Clint giving him the money. And I can’t wait to see what kind of trouble Jared causes the happy couple. And to your poster wondering about John’s burn scars, well I also wonder why Viki, who has had a heart transplant, does not have a scar on her chest.”

Jamie writes: “Maybe Nash will admit his secret about taking money from Clint when Jessica’s secret about Tess and Jared comes out. I do think that Jessica’s secret has to be 1,000 times worse than Nash’s, so I am very curious to see what happens between this couple. And as far as Viki’s transplant goes, I have wondered many times about why she wore high collared clothes after the surgery but miraculously lost the scars quite a while ago. Too bad emotional scars don’t disappear as easily on soaps as physical ones do. Maybe Viki and John have a secret, miracle working plastic surgeon tucked away somewhere.

Adrienne writes: “One Life to Live’s writers should think about bringing back Roseanne Delgado Vega to the screen. Since Antonio has divorced Jessica he needs some more drama. Talia might end up being Antonio's new squeeze, but I haven’t seen any drama unfold for her. No past mistakes (yet) and no family, but Roseanne could bring back more drama to Talia and Antonio's life, especially since Antonio dumped her for tipping off RJ a few years ago and she left Llanview after being ruled out in connection with the death of Colin. Just a thought for OLTL writers!”

Dear Adrienne: Wow, Roseanne, that’s a name from the past. Frankly, I never could stand the woman but hey, we haven’t had a female troublemaker since Margaret that I can think of, so maybe we need one. But sorry, I really don’t want Roseanne back. She was more than a troublemaker; she was a whining troublemaker and I don’t need her back.
