REFLECTIONS BY JILL for September 22, 2008

Once Brody’s fuse was lit there was no stopping him. Poor Marcie picked a fine time to come back to Gigi’s place for the papers she left behind and Brody went after her, accusing her of brainwashing Gigi into telling Shane the truth and throwing him out of the house. One thing led to another, Marcie and Brody struggled over her phone and all of a sudden she was tossed across the room and knocked unconscious. To top it all off, Brody goes for his gun and that can’t be good.

Adriana actually had the nerve to expect Rex to try and work things out with her after the whole truth finally came out. Finally, it is out in the open that she knew all along that Rex is Shane’s father and Rex finally figured out what she was doing with his toothbrush that day that he found her with it in a Ziploc bag. It’s pretty funny to see Adriana even have a tiny hope of making things right with Rex. Is she for real? She betrayed his trust in so many ways and although Rex never should have gone through with their wedding when he realized he had feelings for Gigi, Adriana was equally to blame for going through with it when she knew that Rex couldn’t forget Gigi.

So, Rex and Gigi finally make love when she goes over to his place and tells him that she has decided that today is the day that they tell Shane the truth. I don’t know about you, but I found it a just little bit icky for Rex to be okay with making love with Gigi in his and Adriana’s bed and even ickier for it to be okay with Gigi. I guess they couldn’t wait but geez, that just rubbed me the wrong way.

Hey, is it just me, or did you all do a double take when Ray’s wife walked into Cristian’s cell. Maybe I’m crazy, but whoever the actress is that plays Ray’s wife looks like a dead ringer for Bree Williamson with a dark wig. Of course it wasn’t Bree, but aside from the hair, I think they could be twins.

I just read in the New York Daily News that Florencia Lozano will be returning to OLTL in December to reprise the role of Tea Delgado. Oh boy, let’s pray she doesn’t get involved with Todd again. I know, who am I kidding?

See ya next week.

FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Jamie writes: “Yes, Clint is wrong to use Langston in his scheme against Dorian. BUT, I ask; is what he is doing any worse than Dorian seducing young Joey back in the day to get back at Viki? She used a child and now Clint is, too.”

Dear Jamie: You must be kidding! Let’s do some comparing: Hmmm, Dorian seducing Joey vs. Clint bribing a warden to let a convicted murderer out of prison to go after an innocent young woman for his revenge against Dorian. There is no comparison. Do you think Viki was hurt by Joey having sex with Dorian in the same way that Langston can get hurt if her uncle turns out to be a violent killer? I think not.

Yvonne writes: “I, like you, was not thrilled with the whole Mendorra storyline, but I did find the scenes with Carlo and Jonas very amusing. It was a riot! I'm not a big fan of Brody's and don't think he should have involved Shane is the DNA testing. For someone that didn't seem too thrilled to b e a father, he sure has jumped on the bandwagon. Seems Shane has done a complete turn on Rex. His attitude towards Rex is terrible. It's not as if Rex has done anything to him. I guess he feels like Rex could be a threat to the family he wants with his "dad" and mom. And I must say that I'm sick of the whole Tess storyline. She is playing everyone for a fool and it's very annoying to watch. How much longer do we have to deal with her? Jess, please come back!”

Dear Yvonne: I agree with every point you made. I think that Brody really does have feelings for Shane and he certainly loves Gigi, or thinks it is love, but in all situations like this, I think the child has to come first and that DNA test was bad enough without dragging Shane to the hospital to do it. I do make some exceptions for Shane because he’s just a kid who spent his whole life so far idolizing a father he never thought he would know. He knows how his mom feels about Rex and he feels that Rex had his chance to be with Gigi when she stood up at the church and declared her feelings. It all falls back on Gigi. She created this monster and she has to fix it without waiting any longer and making it worse. As far as Tess goes, at least Bo has voiced his worry that Jessica could slip into the Tess personality from all the stress she’s been under. Hopefully Bo will keep a close eye on her and figure out who she is for sure. I’m sick of Tess, too, because she doesn’t even try to act like Jessica when she needs to, so the whole thing seems very foolish.

Beverly writes: “Jill, can you tell us what breed of dog David Vickers is?”

Dear Beverly: Yep, I sure can. Like you, I wondered what kind of dog that cute little guy was so I just Googled: “What breed of dog is David Vickers?” Believe it or not, I got my answer on the first hit. David Vickers is a Shih Tzu. Isn’t the Internet great?
