Reflections by Jill - A Weekly Commentary for OLTL for September 15, 2008

REFLECTIONS BY JILL for September 15, 2008

From

John Brotherton and Myra Morehouse

Note from Katherine Thurston, OLTL Guide:
Some of you may recall that Jill had featured a mini-review of this year's OLTL Fan Club Luncheon, which had been sent to her from an OLTL fan, Myra Morehouse. Myra was also the lucky winner of the event raffle, and got the great opportunity to pose with an OLTL star and be photographed for ABC's Soaps In Depth magazine. Myra chose the handsome John Brotherton, who portrays Llanview's Jared Banks. So we'd like to share this terrific photo (right) featuring John and Myra, along with another huge thanks to you Myra for sending in your great review of the event.

If you'd like to read Myra's OLTL Fan Club Luncheon Review, you can find it here on Jill Berry's August 25, 2008 OLTL Commentary.

FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Dorothy writes: “How long are we going to have to put up with Tess this time around? I've never been a fan of the DID storylines, Either with Viki or with Tess. How stupid are people in Llanview that no one ever notices that Nikki or Tess is back?”

Dear Dorothy: I wish I could say that the Tess storyline would be over soon, but I just don’t know. It doesn’t seem like it’s going to end so quickly this time. Maybe once Viki comes back it will be harder for Tess to keep up the act and keep Natalie locked in the basement. And I completely agree that the writers are making everyone in Llanview look stupid. Tina knows about Tess; Todd knows about Tess; and finally Natalie knows that Tess is the one responsible for her being stuck down in the new Llanfair “lower lounge.” But let’s face it; Jared should have figured it out by now, especially since he looked suspicious of Jessica all along and Bo should have at least considered the possibility that Tess was out, too. If John is not too busy rescuing Marty, maybe he’ll be the one to rescue Natalie, but let’s face it; he’s known there is a woman in Todd’s house for quite a while and he hasn’t been able to find her yet. LOL!

Jamie writes: “I know you do not care for Jared. But Jared and Natalie did NOT kill Nash or cause his death. It was an accident. Yes, Nash was pissed off because he lost his precious vineyard. BUT he would not have been in a position to lose it if he was not such a lousy businessman. Nash should not have gotten rid of Jared as a partner in the first place. I bet that Nash would not have cared one iota about B.E. if he did not need their money to save his precious vineyard.”

Dear Jamie: I think we’ve all beaten this topic to death and we don’t all agree. No, Jared didn’t take Nash, lift him up and deliberately toss him over that balcony. We can all agree on that. What a lot of fans do think though, is that all of the events leading up to Nash’s death were instigated by Jared’s original decision to dupe the Buchanans. Let’s face it; even Natalie told Jared just last week that he was ultimately responsible for starting a horrible chain of events and that she was responsible for backing him up. We can rip this topic to shreds and never agree, so I say we move on and see what decisions Jared makes from here on out. So far, he has made another stupid once by deciding to do Clint’s dirty work. And if you have been reading my column since Jared came on the scene, you know that I always said I thought Jared could turn out to be a good guy and that I didn’t think of him as a villain.

Chris writes: “Is there any way that Todd Manning can be killed off? Let's face it; the man is a self-centered pig who doesn't deserve to live, period. He created his own problems, and instead of taking responsibility for his actions, he blames others, particularly when it comes to blaming John McBain. He blames John for losing custody of Tommy/Sam. He blames Michael and Marcie for reasons that don't amount to a hill of beans. He blames Cole, Markko, Langston, and Blair for the loss of his daughter and his entire family. And now, this idea of him looking after Marty is pretty twisted and sick. I have a hunch that both John and Todd will l face each other off in a final showdown. Both of them clearly hate each other and are definitely heading for the O.K. Corral. It's high time that Todd was written out and written out indefinitely. Hopefully, John (who is a character that I like) will be the one that rids Llanview of Todd and his poisonous ways once and for all.”

Dear Chris: Although I agree with every comment you made about what Todd Manning is, I can’t go so far as to say I want him dead. However, I do think that Trevor St. John deserves a nice long vacation for all his hard work (it must be taxing as well as fun to play such a degenerate) and for sure, we all deserve a nice long vacation from Todd Manning. I think sending him off somewhere for an extended period of time would be right up my alley. And I’m with you when it comes to John McBain. I love the guy; he just does it for me in spite of all his quirks. I would enjoy nothing more than seeing John be the one to get the last laugh, right in Toddy’s face, of course AFTER Marty got through nailing his hide to a wall.
